  • This video show what I did to make a set of jumper cables for my 2013 HD Ultra. If only someone would make these already assembled.

You should definitely sell these. Been a biker for almost 30 years and now I drive a Campagna T rex and let me tell you, the jumping situation is a pain. We could really use these and they’d sell like hot cakes. Awesome work and ingenuity!!!

They took a long time to make but worth it. Maybe I will look into getting them produced. Thanks.

Excellent video. You very much helped me out. Thanks for taking the time to create the video. I, however, will use the same brand and cable gauge but the 12' auto version. Since my goal is to connect the alligator clamps to an actual car battery. Additionally, the extra two feet of wire will allow me to create the motorcycle SAE permanent connector to the bike. I am still trying to source a place for the SAE "tail" pieces. I was wondering do you have a link or guide me to a place that will sell 10 AWG SAE connectors? Again, Thanks for the video.

Glad it helped. I don't know a source for the 10 awg SAE connectors. Might try Amazon. That is where I sourced most of my items. If not, maybe a general Google search.

Thanks a million for this video ! I started rounding up 10 AWG wires and connectors to make this and everyone tells me that 10 AWG isn't big enough and will melt. Could you update me/us and let us know if 10AWG is working without melting or causing any problems? Thank in advance.

The reason most feel this way is because they don't understand what Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) really means. They think batteries supply 100's of amps to start a motor.
The 10awg works just fine. Most jumper cables as a whole are 10awg. Point in case, I used jumper cables I bought from Advanced Auto and they were 10awg form this project. Plus look at how thin the wires are going to any motorcycle starter. They are probably 12awg at best.
Now if you are jump starting a diesel things could change. But, for a quick jump start, they are just fine.
In any case when jump starting anything, you want to let the dead battery charge for a couple minutes when connected to wake the battery up and allow it to help start the vehicle.
      Thanks for watching.

Hello there, great video by the way, i'm still a noob when it comes to electrical work. i have a question, i have a sportsbike with a Weize YTZ10S-BS battery, and a SAE cable(attached to bike for trickle charge) that has a 7.5 amp inline fuse attached to cable. I just bought a noco gb40 to jumpstart a dead battery on the bike. I plugged the gb40 into the SAE cable, and tried to jumpstart the motorcycle but the SAE inline fuse(7.5amp) blew. Is there supposed to be an inline fuse in that cable for a jumpstart, or can remove the inline fuse, and still use a SAE cable w/o a fuse thats directly attached to the bike because as you know, the battery is horrendous to get to. Thank you sir

All good questions. The 7.5 amp inline fuse on the trickle charger cable is to small to jump a battery. The fuse is only meant for a 750 milliamp trickle charger. Whereas jump starting takes 100's of amps to properly start a bike/vehicle.
You could bypass the 7.5 amp fuse, but that more than likely will overheat the small gauge wire they use on the trickle charger plugs they give you.
Although, you can connect the batter pack, it may charge the battery in time (in theory, but not intended design), but you cannot hit the start button. Again it just draws too much power.
Hence why I bought a 10 awg (gauge) connector that is similar to the standard trickle charger (eBay). I did not add a fuse, as like you, I need the ability to jumpstart my bike easily.
Sorry for the rambling, but wanted to provide a better understanding versus just a simple answer. Hope this helps.
