Kim using the Power Bow as a harp was one of the most innovative things she ever did.
And then using the Dragon Dagger as an arrow was the new most innovative thing she ever did. Guitardo had no chance.
Can't wait for next week's important 2-parter. Who/What will be the final Zyu2 monster?
More somber endings this week, or I guess bittersweet. Once & Always definitely gave this episode iconic status retroactively
I was sold on Kimberly making a song for Tommy
to make him feel better about his future.
Bulk & Skull still on their games of so-called
'Baiting' the rangers to catch their identity.
Tommy losing his power with another somber
moment in the command center just kept the drama going.
But i liked how he and Kim worked together to save the other rangers.
The song at the end is as unforgettable as always.
We never forgot it ever since this episode first aired.
Even bringing it back around to MMPR:Once & Always, this year.
There was a VH1 TV-movie in 1999 called "Sweetwater: A True Rock Story"
Amy Jo showed off her real musical talents (pretty good) while playing the young version
of the real band's lead singer, Nansi Nevins.
Fun Note: Guitardo is the only Zyu2 monster that doesn't have a zord fight.

This was a kim/tommy episode and lovedddd it. 💚🩷
I don't know how or why but each episode I forget that JDF had passed. It's like all I can do is think of him as being alive and young/healthy and then I remember again he's gone. It's bittersweet because I can't decide if its a good or bad thing.
Also 6 more episodes and 5 more weeks til the best ranger debuts!

I loved your digimon tangent plus it makes sense to give Biyomon to Kim because she has the zords that fly. Also Guitardo is a cicada not a beetle but I could be mistaking & I agree with Nicki that it was a dick move for Bulk & skull to cross their fingers when the promised to not cry wolf again. As for the battle with Guitardo I guess you can say "music must defeat music" just like "magic must defeat magic"

As Monty noted, it's fairly clear from what happens on-screen that the Zyu2 writers meant for Guitardo's power to be density-shifting, not "mind control" as the US dialog states.
I wonder if there was a missing or unfilmed scene where Zordon or Alpha told Kim about Guitardo's weakness and told her to string the bow as an instrument? She was out of the battle for a while, so she clearly had time to do it.
While not perfect, this was always one of my favorite episodes, and I'd rank it as the single best episode in Season 2.
As a comic book nerd I recognized density shifting immediately! 😂
Tommy and Kim are the "original" power couple so yeah pretty high bar but IMO there is one couple that beats them. Won't spoil anything in case you ever get far enough

PS: The next two episode kicks *The Green Candle* out of the park to be the best final outing for the green ranger as in that two parter:
1. Tommy gets outdone by Goldar.
2. Tommy needed help from his friends to defeat Cyclop after it battering his zord.
It is the complete opposite when you watch the next two episodes.
Tommy escaped from goldar though.
I still prefer green candle, even though dragonzord was beat, there was lots of dragonzord footage compared to green no more. And the zord battles in green no more in my opinion are not as good as the original zyu2 fights with the dinozords unedited. Plus the dark rangers didn't really impress me much or do much of anything. But green no more does still have some cool tommy moments I thought.

This is the last episode that uses Zyu 2 footage right?
Episode 21 uses some new pumpkin rapper zyu2 footage for his giant battle, but he was originally fighting the dinozords. I think the dragonzord summon for that episode is used in return of the green ranger part 3, someone pointed out before. After that it's only re using zyu2 zord footage for thunderzord fight edits.

Also, The Dragon Dagger is also known as the Flute and the Power Bow is like the Harp. Also, Tommy and Kimberly took care of the Guitardo Monster by combining the Dragon Dagger with the Power Bow.
