- Hi Lovelies!!!!
In this video i show you how i cook the Gambian National Dish of Domoda which is a penut based stew which you can cook with meat, chicken or vegetarian alternatives.
I use a crockpot to cook it most of the time as its easier than keeping an eye on the cooking pot and allows you to do other things whilst the food cooks on its own. The full recipe is:
1 pot of grapeseed oil
2 large onions chopped
1 entire clove of garlic
1 pot of crushed tomatoes
2 tablespoons of tomato puree
3 table spoons of lemon juice
1 maggi cube
2 vegetable broth cubes
1 teaspoon of black pepper
3carrots
4 potatoes chopped in half
chicken/meat
1 cup of peanut butter

Hi Lovelies!
Please more Gambian and Senegalese food there’s already enough Nigerian/Ghana recipes here on the Tube🤦🏽♀️
Good to see someone using Maggi in their cooking videos. So many african cooking videos get demonized for using Maggi because they read somewhere online that it does this or it does that to your body. Some people always get caught up trying to live life for a long time that they forget trying to live life for a good time.
Please please please please do more Gambian food tutorials I am from there as well and would love to learn from you
The best food I ever eat was Domoda in The Gambia.
Where I work there are a lot of Gambians or people from west Africa and every time they cook they offer me some and it is absolutely fantastic. I'm glad I found this so I can give it a shot at making some day, but honestly, I don't think I'll come close.
Thank you so much for this channel. My daughter is half Gambian and is curious about her culture. Since the quickest way to learn about A country and culture is through their food I look forward to making this for her. Once again thank you.
Yes sis. Kasumai!!! My husband is West African I'm trying to learn and you made yours just how I learnt in Gambia I'm following you and plz do more.
I've went to Gambia a few years ago, and absolutely love Gambia and the Gambians. Juffure, Banjul, Serekunda, all highly recommandabel to pay a visit for everyone who is considering to visit the Gambia. The cuisine is so divine, especially domoda. Thank you kindly for sharing your recipe. I'll definitly make it soon (probably the upcoming weekend). Love and respect from The Netherlands ✌🏻❤
I really want to see more gambian and senegalese foods recipes 😻😻😻😻😻😻
You are so pretty! I make my peanut soup the same way but with no carrots or potatoes. i add okra or mixed veggies. Your dish looks absolutely delicious! Thank you from Pennsylvania.....
Great tutorial, might try to make some over the weekend. While I'm not from Gambia, I had the chance to spend 10 days there (mostly in Banjul and surrounding areas). Absolutely amazing country with really friendly people and very interesting culture.
I just made this for my Gambian husband. It's delicious! I hope he loves it!
I went to school with Gambians so i ate mbahaal. Amazing 🙌🙌🙌. I love my continent. Live from Cameroon

Oh my word I want to jump into the screen and dive into the pot!!!!! I haven't had good cooking like that since my friend from Sierra Leone used to be my in home care nurse when I got really sick with my Lupus a few years back. We lost touch when she returned to her home to visit family. She used to cook the best food for me. I'm gonna try to make a vegan version of this dish. It looks so yummy!!!! All that sauce!!!!! I'm drooling!!!! 😍😜😛😊😙
There's a Cameroonian and Nigerian restaurant here and I love it so much! I would love to see you do lots more then I can cook authentic recipes at home too x
Domoda is right up there as one of my favourites...6 people don't know what they're missing!
