I always like Walt behind the throttle hahaha His Uncle Mike is who you're referring to. It is even more surprising (and satisfying) that the railroad track in Marceline goes right past the schoolhouse
@@WaltsNephew Ive always wanted to visit Marceline, MO. Other towns with railroading heritage Ive always wanted to visit are 1.Truckee, CA 2.Ely, Nevada 3.Vaughn, Mississippi (where Casey Jones died) 4.Chattanooga, TN 5.Silverton, CO 6.various towns in West Virginia
I've managed to visit Ely. The hotel in the heart of the city is an "experience" and the railway isn't that bad. I would've liked to experience a steam engine in operation but I did get to go inside the engine house and carriage shed which were both nice
I love these locomotive whistle sounds. By the way, the bell sound on engine number 3 reminds me of the grandfather clock chime at the end of the Grandfather's Clock song. So I think I'll call that the Grandfather Clock tone.
1:32 that’s not a lunkenheimer 3 inch 3 chime. It sounds like what Roy O. Disney once sounded like until 2016. I can’t say it’s a lunk because I have no confirmation on whether the whistle he’s had since 2016 is the same but only cleaned out to hit the higher notes (as wiki or a fan wiki once said). It’s definitely deeper though so it’s not a 3 inch.
Right, I was making reference to original whistle in the description, I guess I just haven't listed the different whistle yet (if you can't tell, I prefer the Lunkenheimer hahaha)
I'm tempted to! With their connection to Disneyland, it really is a good rationale for listening to their whistles. I will keep that in mind as I work through my other summer projects
Walt's Nephew I'm not sure, but it seems like the other engines of the Disneyland railroad have had their whistles changed through the years. But for the CK holiday, it looks like the CK holidays whistle hasn't had a new change yet. Do you think one day the CK holiday might have a new whistle someday ? For me I hope not, because I like the way it's whistle sounds. And I just hope they don't change the whistle for locomotive number 1
By all means, give it a try!!! I used Holliday's Lunkenheimer single note to do "Jingle Bells" last Christmastime so it's possible to make musical melody with the whistle!
Walt's Nephew I believe it's possible that the EP Ripley had its whistle change two times. Do you really believe the EP Ripley's whistle changed two times ? I really want to know if the EP Ripley's whistle has changed to times, and if it could be possible if the whistle could change a third time
I'm hoping Ripley's whistle hasn't changed at the moment. However, there was a very brief time (maybe a week or some) sometime in the '80s or '90s where Holliday and Ripley swapped whistles temporarily. I haven't the foggiest idea why but it happened haha
I think that would be a wee bit too loud and modern for the Disneyland engines; they have been using ex Durango and Silverton whistles on engines 3, 4, and 5 though!
The shot of Walt himself driving the train was awesome. Did you also know Walt had an uncle who was a train engineer?

What's your opinion on Ward's whistle?
@@WaltsNephew it’s not my favorite. I don’t like single chimes to be completely honest. The only one I like is Holliday’s Lukenheimer

How did I miss this??!!! Omggg I’m in Heaven!!! 😍❤️
I was wondering about the algorithm on this one hahaha Glad you enjoyed the whistles!
O:56 if you look at E.P. Ripley’s under carriage, you can see a fireball flare twice
Yes indeed! The heartbeat of a locomotive
@@WaltsNephew the birth of an engine really IS the first firebox light up!
WOW that is great. My grandkids love the video
I'm very glad to hear it! A locomotive's whistle can always bring joy when they sing haha
0:35 OMG I recognise that whistle, it’s the JUPITER FROM DONALD AT THE WHEEL!
The very same one!

Huh, I never thought of Fred's bell that way haha
I dont know why but this sounds like sir hiydin from the tallythen railway 2:04
There is a similarity there, yes!

E.P. Ripley has yet to return. I hope it does come back.
So do I; unfortunately she's being worked on off the property so I wouldn't rightly know when she'll be back in service

Well, in "Christopher Robin," they used Holliday's whistle for the English engine, so you have a point!
