I SURE LOVE HEARING THESE GUYS SING!!!! I GO SEE DANNY AND MARK ANY TIME THERE IN NC!!! THERE MUSIC JUST BLESSES ME EVERY TIME I HEAR IT. JESUS SAVES!!!!
Thank you God for your wonderful Plan Of Salvation & for putting this group together to bless our hearts. I hope they're up in heaven singing with God's angels! C u George, Glen & Roger.
Yes thank you Lord for your Salvation Plan that cost you your life a price you willingly paid...I thank you Jesus and I love you more than my words will ever come close to truly showing that love!!!
These guys have a tough life to be on the road. unpack then pack up again & not get a lot of sleep so they can drive to the next city to sing again & look great.
This song is truly blessing (Thank you Lord)! We will miss you so much George! :'(!! I just wanted to thank you Lord from a blessing of HEAVEN above.. AMEN!
i agree 100% with bbyrdhouse and prevostdriver. best quartet ever to sing gospel music was this combination of guys right here. i consider the Cathedrals to be the 'Elvis Presley' of southern gospel music.
I want to thank Jesus For the plan of Salvation Just to say, Lord, I love you For You understand. I want to be there on, That great judgment morning. To touch all the nail prints, In His feet and His hand. One morning at day break, A crowd slowly gathered. They were walking my Lord up Old Calvary's hill. So sad was the scene there. The birds hushed their singing. Like a lamb He was humble. To His Father's own will.
I can just agree with U... these videos with Danny and Mark, and Gerald playing piano are just great!!! Thanks for uploading it!!! I just got tired of seeing just the 90´s line up(Ernie and Scott), it was looking like this line up was the only one well known... This line up with Danny and Mark really worked good, as I see in the internet, looks like these two guys keep being good friends after all, in spite of not being singing in the same group...
i agree with you gal. to have seen this group in person and to have bought their music back in the day was a blessing. to see these old songs now is another blessing!
The video title is "Can He , Could He, Would He?" circa 1986-87. I bought it brand new at NQC in 87. :) Since The Cathedrals closed their office a couple years ago, your best bet is online somewhere to buy.
Flatt and Earl Scruggs He Will Set Your Fields On Fire has a message. Lester Flat and Earl Scruggs gospel songs and hymnal songs are Blessed with comfort and joy unspeakable.
Couldn't agree more! Signature Sound seems to be more concerned with dance routines and stacked vocals than in producing quality music. There was so much more to Danny's singing than mere"power". If you listen to the recordings form the 80's whether with the Cathedrals or the Singing Americans you find that Danny could harmonize without overpowering like no other tenor that I have ever heard.
Gerald Wolf is no slouch, but he had to style that as Roger played it, originally. Flawless transition from C to the next key, and all that Floyd Cramer influence Roger carried with him. I shook Roger's hand one night at a venue 2 miles from my home. His hands dwarfed mine. We are both classically trained, but his span was a 10th, easy. Mr. Wolf stepped in and nailed this beautiful piece.... one of my favorite Cathedrals tunes.
@prevostdriver, I didn't like EHSS at first because of their movements but I liked their harmonizing. The more that I thought about it the more I realized that the younger people like it and if that is what it takes to get the younger generation to Christ then I like it. EHSS is very respectful of the Cathedrals and is very close friends with George Younce talking frequently. Before you criticise the group, step back and take a closer look. You may like what you see. I did.
I love the Cathedrals but the title of this song is" Walking My Lord Up Calvarys Hill " and written by Ruby Moody and first recorded by Wilma Lee and Stoney Cooper. Gary Mcspadden tried to steal this song by changing the title. I saw it recently on Bill Gaither and performed by Connie Smith and Marty Stewart her husband. They refered to the first recording by Wilma Lee & Stoney Cooper. It is also on a Bill Gaither album Bluegrass and performed by Rhonda Vincent. It was also recorded by The Kingsmen and Walt Mills as well as others. I'm sure this was an embarrassment to the Cathedrals as they did know. Shame on GARY MCSPADDEN!!!! Ruby Moody died in 2006 at the age of 94. Ruby was my Mother an d my brother, sister and I share the royalities of this song. I still love to hear the Cathedrals.
Helen It sounds like he re-wrote the song. There are only phrases that the songs have in common. Granted I'm no expert on songs and royalties but it sounds like the song may have been public domain when it was re-written.

The Cathedrals were just a dear blessing. You truly bless my soul.
Thank you God for your wonderful Plan Of Salvation & for putting this group together to bless our hearts.

I met Danny years ago. Still have not forgot it. He was good back then too. Lucky me.

GOD BLESS YOU!! A thinking man.
Ernie Hauss is George Younce's son -in-law.
Does anyone know where I can get the sheet music for this song?
But Danny wasnt with them in 82, he didnt join till 83.
You do realise that Ernie is George's son-in-law don't you ?
remember all this criticism come from the devil Satan himself... just enjoy the song. Signature Sound sings for the Lord... remember to be positive...
All they had to do was just sing...no vocal gimmicks or emotional frenzies.
