This happened to me 3 years ago. I hit my cheek bone on a hard metal bar in June. It hurt so bad that I saw stars . Didn't give it much thought, but weeks later, I got a horrible headache over my left eye . And then whenever I was around bright lights I got an instant headache.Well, in August I got one of those headaches while in a Walmart with my sisters so we left to go home and on the way home I was trying to talk and my worlds were all gibberish I told my sisters just take me home and I'll take a nap and feel better luckly they took me to the hospital where I had surgery for a subdural hematoma from hitting my head way back in June .I know now I was fortunate to survive.

That happened to one of my relatives! He was working on a construxtion site and a falling 2x4 hir him in the head. He had a helmet on, his initial concern was that his neck was ok. But after a few days he started getting severe headaches that became almost constant. His wife persuaded him to go to the hospital, and he had a slow bleed happening that they said would have killed him.

I had a concussion and was talking gibberish ( exactly how my friends described it) but I didn't get any medical care. I think it affected me for a really long time. My word finding it was never that great after. I was 14. I didn't even tell my parents. Everyone was busy, my parents didn't notice. We were all honor roll kids but probably didn't have the most common sense.

Mike Oxtints That’s my issue as well. I’ve broken bones and kept working. I’ve had 30 hits to the head and when I finally got an MRI it showed over 55 lesions on my brain from axial force. Turns out I don’t feel pain like a normal person so would just continually hurt myself and think it was normal or a minor issue. I now have permanent post concussion syndrome.

There is a difference between subdural (venous bleeding and slower) and an epidural (arterial blood and faster) brain bleed, the latter being what Natasha Richardson died from, where you’re fine at first and then quickly deteriorate. My grandfather had many acute and chronic subdural bleeds as we have a genetic collagen defect making us more prone to bruising and bleeding. They told him he couldn’t take one more knock and unfortunately he did and passed away 2 days later. My mother and I have to be super careful with injuries.

After being brought by ambulance to the hospital ER, then leaving my dad on a gurney in the ER for four hours after he had a stroke , which he never recuperated from, it was determined that stroke victims need to be treated WITHIN AN HOUR to avoid irreversible brain damage. My dad never had a chance because they let him slowly bleed out for hours. He was a vegetable by the time they operated, then died from cardiac arrest 6 months later in an end of life nursing home .

I am so very sorry for your loss. The way he was treated, or rather not treated, is absolutely unacceptable! I agree with others, I hope you sued them, though of course litigation after medical negligence/ trauma can be very difficult (I’m speaking from experience). If it’s a hemorrhagic stroke treatment needs to be pretty immediate and if it’s caused by a clot it’s best to treat within the first hour (ie. the golden hour) but tPa can work up to 4hrs from symptom onset. The most important first step is a CT or MRI and checking blood clotting factors. Do you know what type of stroke and any treatment they gave? You don’t have to go into it obviously and I’m sorry for asking, I’m just absolutely appalled by his treatment. Stroke is a serious medical emergency. WTF?! Did they have a whole floor in cardiac arrest and everyone working on them? Was the hospital actively on fire at the time? Like what excuse do they possibly have?! Stroke symptoms can never be ignored let alone for frickin hours! I am so damn mad on your behalf and my heart just breaks for you.

So what we have learnt from Dear Dear Bob Saget, is if we ever hit our head on something and we dont feel well i.e. nausea and some pain, we might want to lie down BUT that is the worst thing to do. Rather get someone to take us to a doctor, keep awake, until we have had chance to tell a doctor what happened. OR if really bad, get to a hospital emergency . Dear dear Bob, lesson learnt. It is heart-wrenching that we had to learn this lesson this way.

My doc asked if my head hit the floor when the rest of me did, and I told her TBH I didn't remember. BAM! she immediately sent me to get a head MRI. No damage, thankfully, but still.... after what happened to Liam Neeson's wife (among other victims), I get the impression the medical community is taking the banging of heads into hard things more seriously.

They should. Some of my memory problems now, at age 46, may stem from concussions playing baseball as a kid. I’ve always been short & the helmets never quite fit me, pitchers had trouble with my strike zone. My mom made me quit after the 2nd or 3rd knockout.
Sadly, the reason they’re taking it more seriously is the football players doing mass murder. They don’t all end up rich & famous with people around them constantly that might notice personality changes.

Also a reminder that "Oh its just a concussion" is dangerous nonsense. A concussion is also small a brain trauma that has the severity range of 'get checked and then rest at home' to 'you gonna be at the hospital for a day or two just to be safe, son'. You only have one brain and its really important and difficult to fix. Take care of it.

Closed head injuries, like dry drowning are very sinister and insidious. Everything can appear to be alright. With closed head injuries, a person can feel like their got their bell rung, and momentarily feel woozy and then feel generally okay. The problem is there could be bleeding inside the cranium and THAT is never good. IF a person has been drinking, they'll be less aware of symptoms and might falls asleep never to wake up again.

I fell of the top of a ten foot ladder while trying to hang a new clothesline. I was aware I was starting to fall, tried to grab a large limb of the tree, which was about 40 ft. high, so it was a sturdy mature tree. I remember I realized I was falling, tried to grab the branch, then…I was laying in the opposite direction on the ground. I remember falling to my right but I don’t remember hitting the ground. The back of my head hurt badly, and when I tried to touch it my arm was sore. I saw long bleeding tracks from scratches down my right arm where I reached out for a branch. I don’t remember actually hitting the ground where I landed, I found I was mostly on my back, just slightly tilted downwards, on top of some stone pavers in a garden bed of mostly clay. I do remember seeing “stars”. I don’t know the timeline. As some minutes pass, I realize my husband is about 15 ft. away inside his workshop, which is a walkout to the yard where I was laying, and I could see the door was open. I tried to turn over, and I was sore. I am in good health, I walk about 15-20 km/ week and weigh about 125 pounds. And I was 69 am yrs. old. I had been used to working in the garden 6-7 hrs./ day. I started to call out for him, but no reply. I found out later he had been cutting wood and had his “ears” on, so he couldn’t hear me. I kind of figured that was the problem. I thought I would just lay there a bit more. Well, I couldn’t really do anything else for a bit. He found me and checked me over. There was a swelling that started on the right side of my head, around the bone just behind the ear, down the back and into my neck area. It literally looked like a small, thick banana sized swelling, and it scared me. There was no external bleeding on my head anywhere, but my head hurt badly. When I felt I could get up, he drove me to the emergency. There was talk about covid, which was just beginning to be a problem. Last place I wanted to be was stuck in a hospital. Anyway, I was triaged and sat waiting for 4 hours. I did have trouble trying to stay awake. They sent me for a cat-scan. Two more hours pass as I sit on a chair. Finally they call me back into an exam room and begin talking to me. They said there was some sort of “thing”, like a calcification or small solid they could pick up and see, but couldn’t identify. They ask me to get in touch with my family doctor. ( I live in Ontario, Canada.) We said ok and went home and my husband was told to check on me all through the night and not let me go to sleep til morning. When I did wake up, late, next day, my husband asked me how I was. I stared at him, he said, and he asked if I remembered last night. I said no, and I said I am so sore, don’t know why. He asked if I knew who he was and I said no. He went through everything, and convinced of who he was, I went back for a bit more sleep and still a very sore head. I started having problems the next day with my eyes. No matter where I directed my eyes, everything looked like looking through layers of facets like when you look really close up to a stone like a diamond. Of course, it just stayed like that up to a few hours at a time. So I made an appointment with my eye doctor of 32 years. He saw me right away to see if I needed further doctors. He said my eye exam showed I had such improved eyesight I would have to get new glasses. He said he had never known that to happen to someone from a fall. He also diagnosed that I now had what is called optical migraines and that is why I kept seeing these strange distortions, and why I now have migraine sized headaches. He said he had no choice but to cancel my driver’s license. These images didn’t come and go on a predetermined schedule. I felt so rough I was spending more time sleeping from taking Tylenol and putting heat on all my aches - which now went down my back and right arm. I was more or less bedridden for another two weeks, checking in by phone to the doctor because Covid was now here. My family dr. gave my husband a requisition for a skull x-ray, for when I could get out. …continued next…

    • @lynnrobinson8885
      @lynnrobinson8885 2 роки тому +1

…part 2: Covid was now a very real thing. Emergency rooms were only used for ambulances, so I couldn’t go back for my scan of my skull. Family drs. here closed their offices - just phone calls. It has now been two and one half years, and I still can’t get my scan done. The head pain has never gone away, and more pain settled into behind my right ear (mastoid bone), down below and into my neck. Awhile later, pain seeped into my cheekbone under my right eye and my neck, and all of this continues to hurt on a daily basis. I have a clotting disorder, and even knowing that i can’t get any further with this. So, to recap: still have the optical migraines (as painful as was my regular migraines), still have very painful aches in the areas I mentioned. I can no longer sleep on my right side or the back of my head. I just want to know what caused it, what is “it”, and what can I do about it. Here, we are not allowed to go to another doctor. You “sign up” and you have to quit them before you find another doctor. Certain parts of the lower mastoid bone seem to swell and form shapes, but then go away again in 5-6 days, then repeat. But mostly, the pain has never gone away and hasn’t gotten better at all. My husband and I have a pack now where we are with each other when gardening, and I have promised never to climb a tree again. Can anyone suggest how I could get the tests I need? Or what may have happened? Thanks ever so much, Lynn Robinson, feeling abandoned in Ontario.

@@lynnrobinson8885 I’m sorry you are going through this, still. Here in The States we can go to dr offices, I can walk into the hospital & have an X-ray if needed (I’ve actually had an endoscopy during Covid). I’ve gone in for other tests etc., & I have a blood clotting disorder, well more so a disorder that also includes blood clotting, Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. Our hospitals understood that people would still need tests done etc. I don’t understand why you can’t just walk into the hospital in a non emergency door. That’s what they’ve done here? I just go in the door to visit patients or other departments (the pain clinic I attend is inside a hospital) check in, or give requisition, & if I pass a fever scan & have a mask I’m allowed to proceed.

I had a head trauma from a fall and three weeks later, I ended up in the ER and diagnosed with a subdural hematoma. I had brain surgery and spent nearly 30 days in the hospital and acute rehab. The reason that I didn't immediately go seek medical care is that I had managed medical care - Blue Cross, Blue Shield - constant reminds their members that going to the ER is frowned upon unless you're dying. They want their members to first see their primary care physician. When I called my primary care physician, I was told that it would be three weeks before an appointment was available. When I finally saw my primary care physician, I ended up passing out unconscious in his lobby and was rushed to the ER.

Hopefully the findings, that Saget's death was due to brain injury, will stop the idiots, that point to his death as proof vaccines don't work. Even prompt treatment doesn't prevent all damage, due to a head injury. My father suffered a serious bicycling accident in his 50s, right outside a hospital. So was promptly treated. But, he still was in a coma for ten days. He lost all his memories, but gradually regained all but the most recent. Still, he noticed some cognitive impairment in his late 60s, and gave up the practice of medicine in his early 70s. Eventually, this turned into Altzheimers, of which he died. As someone who was both physically and mentally active, always learning new ideas and skills, he should have been the last person to develop this disease. His physicians blamed it on the earlier serious brain trauma.

First it was reported as a heart attack, now this? Of course it's vaccine related and when it's revealed that they are covering up massive death tolls, they will all be held accountable in a court of law and anyone pushing these vaccines will be just as guilty including people like you.

A couple years ago I went swimming at my apartment complex pool. A couple kids were tossing a pair of goggles back and forth. Out of nowhere, I got smacked in the forehead with them from the opposite side of the pool. The kids were apologetic. Well, one was. The other was so scared she was trembling and didn’t speak. But the other swam right over, asked if I was ok & apologied sincerely & profusely.
I got home, feeling fine. No blood, slight goose egg. I told my husband what happened & he freaked out and would NOT let me sleep, even a few hours later.
I'm a medieval historian. The next day I was talking about something with my mom. I hung up & realized that I'd mixed up 2 figures who lived hundreds of years apart.
The next day I went to the store, pulled into a parking slot and literally could not remember if I was supposed to put it in park or remove the key first.
It was weird & scary. I had a few of these kind of incidents a day for about 2-3 weeks. I honestly didn’t connect it to the goggles right away. I blamed sleep deprivation.
Eventually I realized I had a concussion & that what I'd thought of as an overreaction by my husband probably saved my life.

We've known how to treat a subdural hematoma for thousands of years. Ancient Greek and Roman physicians knew to cut a hole to relieve the pressure on the brain and would then plug the hole with bees wax. Even in the unsterile environment people often made a full recovery. Its sad he didn't take a serious head injury seriously.

I wonder if he had a collagen defect. We have EDS in my family. My great grandfather died of an enormous abdominal aortic aneurysm following the repair from a heart attack as his heart couldn’t handle having the circulating blood volume suddenly increased by a fifth. My grandfather suffered from a few acute as well as chronic subdural bleeds on the brain. His doctor told him he couldn’t take another fall. Unfortunately he did fall again and hit his head passing away 2 days later. My mother and I both bruise like crazy from the slightest thing. I once had to go to the hospital because I was absentmindedly massaging my sore leg while on the phone then looked down and it looked like I’d been beaten with baseball bats. I had to go to the hospital and they didn’t believe it. They thought I had meningococcal and a couple of people actually tried to rub the “makeup” off my leg. I swear every doctor and nurse in the ER stopped by that night. My blood reassure dropped enough from internal bleeding in the time they made me wait that I needed fluids - all from massaging my leg! I wonder if he had a similar collagen defect, especially as EDS is far more severe in females so males might not know they have it as they don’t dislocate bones as easily as we do, that contributed to his death. It’s important for his children as you have a 50/50 chance of inheriting the disorder from an affected parent. So sad. I hope his family is doing ok.

I heard months after it happened ... my eldest sister had a minor fender-bender like in Feb but by May she got a blood clot in her brain. This was d start of her 3-hospital confinement just after d 1st lockdwn of COVID.
The 1st hospital didnt have d necessary equipment to do a CT-Scan or MRI.
The 2nd hospital showed that she did have a blood clot + a 4cmX4cm brain tumor. Her physician recommended surgery. But at that time, many medical practitioners got sick or died of COVID. There wasnt any anesthesiologist available to be on the surgical team, mainly coz they recently lost a peer.
A 3rd hospital was found by my sister's physician. Finally, she was operated on ... to drain d blood clot but leave d tumor in. It took a while 4 my sister to be in ICU ... becoz of COVID, we werent even able to see or visit her. When she was eventually okay enough ... they transferred her to the 'telemetry' floor. That was the time we could visit or 'stay with her' ... It was found, due to d problem of hospital staff ... she got quite a huge bed sore where her tailbone is located. 😔
That was a huge concern ... 4 it to mend. As it gets wet/soiled frm her usual bodily discharge.
In total, she spent 77-days at that very expensive Philippine hospital. 🇵🇭
Thank God, things happened or were done 4 us 2 get her discharged despite a six-figure hospital bill. 🙏
To date, she is still 'on the road' to recovery ... but we are truly grateful to ALL the doctors, nurses & hospital staff in all the 3 hospitals she was in. Even the nurses, PTs or caregivers tending to her after her hospital discharge. 👏💓
Yes, God has been with our family through it all ... even today. 🙏👆
