I just want to thank you for explaining what you are doing. Too many UA-camrs just film themselves working, add some sound, and then call it a tutorial. Your videos have been so helpful.
I just want to say I say here for an hour searching through my subscriptions because I LOVE your videos so much, but I thought I was subscribed. I think it’s on my other channel, but I wanted to say that you were the first person I ever watched on clay techniques when I first started clay in early 22. I want to thank you for your helpful videos and I’m subscribed to the channel now on my main page and will never lose you again! 😂 Thank you for being you! ❤
Just coming in to say: Not only are you entertaining to watch, but you are ACTUALLY helpful. So many channels focus on making a perfect upbeat fast tutorial that doesn't really teach you anything. You just get to see them being perfect and good at what they do. You are actually explaining things clearly, and you are addressing very honest "mistakes" and faults in the sculpture. I like that. A lot. Thank you so much for taking the time to do all this and to share your knowledge with us. Seriously. Ok back to watching the rest of your videos. This is gonna be an all nighter! Haha.
You stand up like a man to admit you made a mistake with the face angles, respect for that. Not many would have the honesty or the courage. Very heartening for beginners to see that, too, thank you.
Very, very cool lessons! I dig your laid back style with no pretentiousness while demonstrating real skills including real fixes. Big fan of this series and appreciate all the tips and techniques shown. I'll keep watching and liking.
Thank you for taking the time to film this! I am taking a 3D art class in college and this was EXACTLY what I needed to know. Hope you continue with the series!
Thank you :) I was so absorbed, that I almost shout in shock when you cut a half of a face :))) And thank you for the perspective you give me. I am not sure if I would sculpt faces (I am a DIY-er, not an artist, so I will probably sculpt parts and objects I need), but I learn a lot about the healthy atidude. I encourage everybody to go back to the missed episodes - they are rich and also funny.
You are, by far, the best teacher I have ever watched. Have learned so much ! The things you explain are so important and make such a difference. I just love you !! Don't be afraid, I am an old lady that appreciates your talent, your humor, and you are safe !!! Best mouth tutorial I have ever seen.. thank you for helping me learn even more..
Hey Josh. I just wanted to take the time to say thank you. I'm very much a beginner and really appreciate you sharing your knowledge. Keep up the good work!
Being new to this ive done the same mistake and went directly with the knife. Kind of cool to mess up thing and then get it sort out. Continue the good work.
13:22 Oh, Shoo... It's Lord Voldemort!! Sorry, I just had to. I paused the video to write the comment and you said it just right after haha I find your videos awesome and very helpful. Thank you for your work :D
I make a lot of elves and it’s similar to human faces but Dobby it’s a challenge ! It’s a very different head , and I’ve been struggling with it, I would love to see a video of someone doing one, you would be perfect👌🤗
I really love these videos, they really helped me during my final test in secondary school. Would you ever consider making a similar series focusing on more stylised characters rather than the realistic sculptures that you usually show?
Thank you so much for these videos, Josh. Great sense of humor too! I'd like to know if you prefer using sculpty to regular clay that you fire. Is there an advantage to sculpty, or is it just so you don't need a clay firing system?
thank you again !!!! please can you do a tutorial for a smiling person i want to learn how to sculpt an open mouth , the teeth and the tongue please and if possible how painting them and the skin too thank you so so much !
Thank you for the video, its really helpful. Im trying to start sculpting and this video really help me a lot. U are using Polymer Clay which need to heated to make it hard and sturdy right. Do u have tutorial with Epoxy Clay?
Hello. After watching just one of your videos I bought a block of Sculpey III. Love it! However, I've made Spock, a cat, octopus, Doberman, several caricatures, etc. Squished them all and started over. My question: until I decide what I'll finally make, does this clay have shelf life? I keep it in a zip lock baggie while not in use but it leaves a minute amount of clay on my hands ( I don't use tools) which is normal for earth clays but I'm new to polymers. Does it eventually reach a state where it becomes useless? Btw, love your videos!
It has a shelf life of years, even uncovered, and no amount of working and reworking it will diminish that. The only exception is if you use alcohol to smooth it down. That will sap some of it's life. But overall, it's by far the most forgiving sculpting medium I've ever worked with, and why I did my beginners series with it. Glad you're having fun!
Thank you for explaining so well. I really liked the tutorial, it was very helpful for me as a beginner to learn the basics. However sculpting is very calming and creative process with great patients but the sound effects on the videos made it so disturbing and distracting that I had to fast forward/mute most of the parts :((
LOL i think this is just a beginner thing but i dont think im brave enough to cut half of that face O.O. I applaud you for your talent and bravery😂👏👏👏👏👏
There are so many variables, and even when there's not I'm TERRIBLE and estimating working time. For this whole sculpture I think I probably spent about 15 hours. It's even harder to say since recording and talking takes a lot of time/bandwidth.
that would def make things easier. If you are still struggling it could be because it's just a matter of doing it several more times, or it might be that your brain needs a different set of instructions for it to click. look up more videos on the topic and see if that helps! Here's one I see in my feed... ua-cam.com/video/7hdwu5zH0u8/v-deo.html

Thanks for the feedback. What you're describing is exactly WHY I decided to start this channel.
That Facial Slicing Technique was REALLY AWESOME, saving so much time in trying to redo my work. Great Tip!
From C3PO to Voldemort 😂😂 I'm hooked great series!
The mistake is awesome - it really shows the importance of the angle and how to repair things.
That was so cool how you sliced off the bottom half of the face to fix the angle!
You are an absolutely fantastic presenter. Approachable, kind, very, VERY instructive -- thank you for these tutorials, more than I can say.
I miss having a VCR! Great videos btw, it’s good to see a polymer clay tutorial that isn’t about kawaii charms...

Sound effect on the chopping up the face? That was a great point in fixing it, thank you!

Glad it's helpful. These come out every month on the 1st. Next one is soon!

Slicing a chunk out of the face is not as easy as this guy makes it seem like. He must be a total pro!

God bless you ♡
The music sounds so much like something from Alice: Madness Returns, like Vale of Tears
Oh, and also, what do you think about the water-soluble modeling mediums like Das that air dry? Thanks so much!

Insane. Does anybody know what the board that has the facial features on is called. Looks helpful.
Where you can get that cool sculpting guide: philippefaraut.com/
Josh Foreman cheers

What are those serrated saw sounds?
How long does this take you to make? Hours/days etc? Really appreciate the tutorials :D

Josh, have you ever done the character Dobby from Harry Potter ? Since you mention you like it!
No I've never tried to do Dobby, but plenty of other little gnome/elf type characters.
Voldemort!!! 13:27
can I ask where did you get the plastic thing with all the shapes of noses etc on please...
Link is in the Description. Also here: philippefaraut.com/
DUDE!! I'VE BEEN DOING THE MOUTH OVER AND OVER AGAIN FOR DAYS AND I JUST CAN'T GET IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I WISH HUMANS DIDN'T HAVE MOUTHS

Omg why you add the annoying fast forward sound!! Your killing me smalls your killing me!! Love your videos btw.
I thought I was being clever. But I dropped this idea after this series.
I tried using the super sculpy and copy this video. But it's too squishy. I need harder clay.
Did you use the pink stuff, or the gray stuff called Super Sculpey Firm?
Pink. I guess it's the super firm that I need lol
Thanks for the reply my dude.

Thank you for the tutorial, and thank you even more for not using that shitty UA-cam pop music that sooo many others use.
💚💚💚
Is that the sim city music?
Nope. The opening piece is by a friend, the other stuff is free UA-cam music by Kevin MacLeod. (Credits in the description)
where can I find the face angle s drawing?

got it, thanks
Face lifting made easy.
Hue.
Still, nice video man. One day I too will buy some sculpey and divulge into the creation of (not so) beautiful things.

Looks like Tom Posten

Can you do class videos on girls heads since there heads, details, hair, lips, and noses are different than males
I'll add this request to the backlog. Thanks!
How do you make a fat face ?
same as this, just using a lot of reference to determine where the extra padding goes.
