@@LexVance you're welcome Vance! It's really best if those wires are tinned before putting them into their slots. A little solder makes them easier to snap in. I had to use electrical tape to make sure each one stayed in place while doing the next. I changed out the switch with the fan mounted in the ceiling so it was a bit tedious but great video!

Hey Lex and everyone! Starting my new job tomorrow in student housing as maintenance. Excited but also bummed about it. Was in my old job (apt maint) for four years making just shy of $20/hr. Had to leave because property manager was making it a living hell. Just could not do it anymore. New place says they are very laid back and I won't see the favoritism and stressful environment that I just left but I also won't see the $. I feel that, in my experience, property mangers are the worst part of a Maintenance person's job. It was so bad there but I won't get into it all but it was bad.

seeing as the light kit has its own switch have you ever considered cutting off the light kits pullchain so its always in the on position and and only using the wall switch? would never have to replace a light switch pullchain after that. could also use a fan speed controller and do away with the pullchain on the fan but seeing as the toggle wall switch speed controllers cost 3-4 times as much as the replacement pullchain that might be a harder sell
