    i bought a blue one 2 months ago just love it. i have other bikes fz1n and a cbr 929 fireblade so i ride fast really fast lol. but the xjr is what biking is about. my only complaint is my fuel light came on at 76 miles i was pushing it a bit but i am finding i am having to fill up ever 80 miles or risk not finding a fuel station. but as its my Sunday bike its not a big problem at all. Just love the bike. have fitted a nice exhaust sounds the dogs bollocks. just waiting for the tail tidy.

    Please put those mirrors out! >.< We talk about cagers not checking mirrors, so we need to be all over that ourselves.

      aTuWitty Er, the mirrors are positioned correctly. The rider's view is different to the camera's.

      Visordown Motorcycle News look at 1:26, 1:58, 3:33... almost every shot from the faired second bike has the mirrors all the way in and nearly pointing at one another!

    These published horsepower figures are funny things. Both the XJR and the GSX 1400 look quite tame on paper, but they are superb engines with ample power where you need it and still go like stink. Really, I take little notice of the sales figures any more, go test. ;-)

    even with every optional extra it's still cheaper than the standard BMW.

    It needs "Speed blocks" . Whats that?

    • @disekjoumoer
      @disekjoumoer 7 років тому +1

      Speed blocks are those Yamaha squared stripes on the sides of the tank on old Yamaha bike (Tenére) and the retro SCRs etc

    ABS will become mandatory at the end of this year (2015). Do you guys believe this model could be gone next year from the catalog ? I'm wondering what to buy. Got my Monster 821 stolen and I'm looking for a bike to replace it. The XJR 1300 is a possible choice, but I'd rather grab the ABS version. Wondering if Suzuki will update this model with ABS.

      Still can buy them new in Australia but they are the older model with the steel tank

    I wonder if the front Cowl on the racer model will fit with the standard bars? Love the look of the Cowl but not so keen on clip-ons for all day rides etc.
    Either way I'm 99% sure this will be my next bike once I upgrade to an unrestricted license next year

    It's crazy they stopped making the GSX1400. One of the most brutal motorcycles ever made.

    It is a beautiful bike and looks to be much more practical than the Vmax. Why doesn't Yamaha want to add ABS?

    • @guybrushthreepwood549
      @guybrushthreepwood549 8 років тому +1

      +Gerhard Symons It's not ABS which is the problem but the EURO norm. Bike is air-cooled. To move it to EURO4 you need to replace the 1300 air cooled EURO3 engine with a water/water-oil cooled engine, and that adds cost to the development/build of a new model. Yamaha has decided to replace the 1300 with the GSR900. The GSR900 engine is very fine, but that bike is absolutely horrible to watch compared to the 1300 XJR... The main bike structure as seen from the sides on the GSR900 is a piece of turd, visually.

      I heard the same comment many years ago from the USA. I have no idea why you don't get the big Yamaha.

    With only 98 bhp seem to me low powered for a 1000+ cc motorcycle, I would expect more from a big naked retro muscle bike, it should be at least 130 bhp for these type of bikes. I love the design and excellent looks of it, but I expect more power out from these machines. For a bike that delivers less than 100 bhp there are other cheaper options on the market with less weight and under 1000 cc engines which delivers the same power.

      Its not about bhp its about torque and belive me this bike has torque I have a 2002 moddel with full akra exchaust and tuned and its about 130bhp
