Can this be used/changed to allow.outpit via a Blackmagic Decklink card? I know you can compile the Blackmagic SDK into FFMPEG/FFPLAY.

Thanks! That looks awesome... I have no idea how I'm going to use it, but I'll keep it in mind in case I'll need it.
The Pi has two HDMIs, would it be possible to have 2 "players" on one physical Pi?

Yeah, I wish it was possible. We tried, but couldn't get a smooth performance at all.

Interesting indeed.. have two pi’s drifting on my desk waiting for creative usage on my videogigrig. How easy to integrate to Blackmagic switchers for playback automation?

What exactly do you mean? Can you describe the workflow you are looking for?

@@SKAARHOJ well my Atems, have minis and television studio atm can start hyperdeck playback when input it is connected to is selected to go live. Have one PI running Playoutbee but I broke hdmi out from it so new one(s) to be ordered soon. Would be nice to have pile of PI’s hooked to my switcher on streaming gigs if playback material is needed. Skaarhoj gear is too much abowe my pay grade so have to cope what my limited money can buy.

Can it play files in sync, like for example to simulate a multicam setup? Does it need to have a PI5 or can it run on PI4 as well?

It can run off Pi4 or Pi5. The way to sync would simply be sending a start-playback command all at once to the players and rely on their individual timing. If you start, then stop, then start again, it's likely they will be very sync'ed up, enough for a simulated multicam setup I would say.

what engine are you using for playback of video ? FFplay?

Yes, mostly. If you run a playlist we use vlc. FFplay worked best for looped clips in the transition from end to start. Let me know if you have ideas.
