"Whatever that plastic was, it's gone." Haha that made me laugh. It's funny because it's true. Edit: Dave Dunipace said he envisioned being able to drink beer and play disc golf. He is preaching to the choir!
So true about the viking. I have one in my bag but it doesn't get used nearly as much as it should. I keep it in there because it's just a great feeling great flying disc that is very easy to throw
People still think "Frisbee golf" when I tell them I play disc golf. Most of the time I see a little smirk or get a giggle when I say that I play DG, I don't know if folks think it is nerdy or just a goofy game , whatever, I love DG, more than I ever thought I would. It is a great chance for some healthy, fun, outdoor activities with your friends. To each his own.
agreed.... this past year and a half I've been doing quite a bit of touring threw the east coast and parts of middle America and people look at me like I'm an idiot when I say I play disc golf for a living. Even after I explain 90% of the time there first response is "how do you pay your bills".
There is a difference between trying to make the money back you put into your product and overcharging for your product. I huck Gateway. You can get any of their premium plastic for 10 dollars, Innova top line plastic 21 dollars. You do the math.
+Rich NA I'm sure gateway isn't trying to turn a profit at all. I sell innova star and gstar at my shop for $16. So maybe your retailer is the greedy one.
The variations in plastics sound like buying knitting yarn...each color has lot numbers as they can assure that any one color is the same in the same lot number but not between lot numbers.
I'm so glad the courses are not manicured and castrated like ball golf. They could become horrible for the environment. I agree the should be fairways, trimmed grass (not everywhere). The tee pads should be safe to throw. I like 25 percent holes having large (luck component) it challenges the mental game and the part where you chose risk over reward. If Paul is afraid to hit a tree he can lay up :). Anyhow, I played tennis for many years and then the ball hits the top of the net but tumbles over, that's a good shot. When the ball bounces back your shot is was shit. Nothing to do with luck whatsoever.
it is not Czechoslovakia... since 1993 already. It is Czech Republic since then. Slovaks got their own but are soooo behind with disc golf compared to us. ;)
If Dave at 23:15 min wants drivers to be blunted and "it wouldn't change their flight", then why does he not just do it on all Innova drivers going forward? He's the owner!
great AMA! I agree with Dave on course design too. "Poke and hope" holes just aren't any fun either. I like wooded courses with fair fairways, and obvious landing zones, risk-reward situations, and trees near\around the baskets. or open courses with clusters of trees and tricky basket placements. I like holes that are challenging and make you think about every shot.
+Andy Klinger Love the idea of 'poke and hope', never heard it before. Will definitely use that phrase in the future to make myself clear on this topic. Sometimes the comments are as informative as the video! Thanks!
my father (born in 1922) used to say it all the time about a very tight pool (billiards) shot. I believe that is where the phrase original came from. billiards, not my father :-)
+ojDASH Yeah me too, I see them in the INNOVA FACTORY STORE in the OOP category and then I forget about them. I have always wanted one, I like the OOP discs, classics, if you will.
7:28 My mind is blown at the realization that plastic discs are like wine and vintage matters!

Awesome!
Good stuff!
anyone else notice his in the bag was basically advertising all new discs and new plastics lol
+sean coggins That's Innova for you. Always looking to make money off the sport. That's why I dont carry Innova
+Rich NA I'm sure the companies discs you use are not trying to make any money off disc golf. stupid.

there is more to it than making a profit. Its the overall greed of Innova and there attempt to corporatize the game of disc golf.

You guys are awesome...this is so good...if you don't totally love this video, u are not a lover of disc golf...pure gold boys..

Love my Colts!!

He explained it. It is the rules not his choice

great AMA, reminded me that I want to go get a zephyr

18:48 every course in marquette county.
I wish they brought back blizzard plastic.
Let's watch some disc golf.
I just want a list of discs that are dead straight without any turn or fade. I want to control its flight by my release and by its condition.
The most interesting part was that he actually bagged a non Innova disc (!)
+nitbot Innova, Millenium and Discmania are all more or less the same company.
+nitbot I fear he would not tell anything much positive about any discs from LAT64 or Kasta. Neither vibram...
I'd like to be idiotically good at putting.
5 years later... Paul is playing for discraft and Ricky is his #1 lol
If you're subscribed to CCDG and don't know that damn song yet, you're doing something wrong.
22:50 but he sucks so he only beat him about five xD
