I am 38 and my skin is pretty "normal" with no dryness or particular oily areas. I do have early signs of aging like fine lines/texture, as well as some sun damage and REDNESS!
I don't use fake tan, but I get very tan naturally in the summer as I have an olive undertone so my face is often a LOT lighter than my body, because I keep my face very well protected to keep my melasma under control and signs of aging at bay!

I just watched the documentary. I searched more info, came acrossed this video. Definitely heartbreaking. She was so isolated in the dead center of her dream. Interviews showed asking her questions and her struggle to understand the words. Theyd quickly move on to harley and you are able to see the frustrations in her being so disnissed. Unable to understand convos. I cried so hard. Its just an intense story. But through Katya's story it highlights the very real mental struggles that can spiral with in a snap. Breaks my whole heart
Bravo, Charlotte! I am now going on 60 years old and retired from my professional career as a dancer, first in classical ballet, and then in concert dance in NYC. During my growing up years university wasn’t even a possibility because schooling was “waste of time “… We all knew that we only had a short period of time to make it… I was able to support myself with my career and had the luck and the fortitude of hard work to support myself with my art. At 30 years of age decided that my career was winding down due to multiple injuries and an unexpected yet very happy pregnancy. It is so hard for professional dancers as well. I am so impressed with your line of work and wish I knew about it upon my retirement. That being said, I went into doing some aerial work, and now I am working as a personal trainer with a emphasis on injury prevention. Thank you for shining a light on this subject. Both dancers and athletes would benefit from hearing the story and just being aware of people like you and your profession, during these incredibly challenging times of transition.
You should be so proud of your achievements and I understand what professionals devote their lives to. But the amazement, hard work and dedication is just incredible. Yes it’s unbelievable still males that are dictating what acceptable or not but you worked and achieved far more than they ever could.
I believe this story highlights what Simon Biles has more recently called out. Not one of us can function without a balance of emotional, mental and physical well being. Thanks for talking about this.
This was heartbreaking to listen to but you did a fantastic job and you did her proud. I've loved watching figure skating from being a little girl and can appreciate how dedicated you have to be to compete in whatever your chosen sport is. Such a sad ending for a young, talented and gifted girl who lived for the sport she loved. Tragic 😢.
nobody give a s..t about this girl, and now everyone is "so sory". Did she have a friend, a boyfriend? Imagine being 18 in a super materialistic country and having nobody.
I can totally relate to all of this as an athlete. The transition is really mentally challenging. Also accepting that you can’t do certain things anymore certainly can cause depression. Fortunately bodybuilding and martial arts doesn’t really have an age limit after you stop being competitive. Great video!! ❤
Charlotte, you told this story so well and it was really interesting to hear how it related to your career and your time as an athlete. I did figure skating as a child and teenager, and it was the only sport I was halfway decent at. Can’t imagine the pain of being told you can’t do the thing you love anymore. I am going to head straight over to Netflix to watch. Really enjoy this style of video. I realise that I enjoy your videos so much because you’re a great storyteller and communicator. Have a lovely weekend! xx
Yes I enjoyed this video. Your branching out. Thats a wonderful thing, you can talk about whatever you want, whenever you want....I'm true crime lover also, I know you mentioned that recently and that's a yes too! Im interested in creator, not just the content. Are you trust worthy, do I believe you.I want to support the ones I know are honest, and not just about the numbers game. I respect this is a paycheck, as it should be. No one should be giving away all thier time and not being compensateed for it without going to extremes. The ones that focus on that are not sincere. So I say GO FOR IT🎉 it will be a breath of fresh air for you.
I watched this documentary and it really stuck with me afterwards, I just kept thinking about it and thinking about poor Katya, she didn’t have it easy at all, I really cried at the end tho, she was just too young to die 😢❤
I had a roommate in college that hade been on the track for Olympic figure skating when young, so I always am interested in a figure skating story - there is so much more behind the sport than the sport. I recently went down a rabbit hole of UA-cam videos discussing how, physically, figure skating is becoming a sport for young girls only. It is not compatible with woman’s bodies. Basically the peak of performance for women is 14 years old bc the body weight shifts after this. The young girls and up to 14 can spin more easily (see how those young Russian girls are breaking those quad spin barriers) and everything changes after a certain age, even if body weight is kept down to pre-pubescent levels. Unfortunately gaining more muscle and technique can not compensate either, though older (18 year olds) skaters try. A 17 year old just can’t do what a 12 year old can do. I think this is horrible, bc obviously ED’s are common to stay at a smaller size, but even with that, the joints and weight shift of a woman’s body can not keep up.
In my opinion, this is a horrible practice, and it is a well known advantage/exploit countries use to win medals. I suppose an international age requirement would be helpful. But then you have young people training and never getting paid, while risking injury along the way … I don’t know the answer … but it is heartbreaking what happens to people
You dont want to spend your life figure skating, jumping every single days on a cold ice-rink till 30s. You want to get education or start a family when you're healthy. It's a sport for young girls. And no one force them to do it. Sasha Trusova had to be stopped by her coach Eteri not to overtrain herself bc she liked to jump and want to perform as many jumps as she could. Sport is achieving the highest goals and it evolves like sport should do ie to conquer the highest mount. When you get a medal, fame, money you can retire while young with whole life to do what you want. Some athletes decide to coach, others become journalists or tv-presenter or get the higher education and even go into politics after. that. To end career young when you got all the medals and still famous while the next generation hard on your heels is the best and wisest option. And pls dont pity them, they know what they do. Figure skating fans dont want to see 20ye girls pathetic attempts at jumping and dragging themselves across the rink in slow motion, it's the very old fashioned and bore. Quads revolution and Russian girls brought the new waves of fans into the sport around the world. If the age of figure skaters will be changed even further in the favor of more older girls, quads performing 13yo atheletes still will be more popular and this definately stop the progress of the sport. Just watch how girls were skating 20 years ago and now, the difference is huge. The one who complains and makes this kind of videos is the losing side. eg US who is lost the gold in figure skating for a log time in the ladies category and sport is such a influential soft power.
My Auntie used to swim for England. When she retired, she went on to teach swimming coaches... 😊💜
you’re such a good storyteller! :’)
Totally agree I think Charlotte has started a new genre! ❤
I actually believe that she is trying to get across a point that this is athletic people’s lives. To get where they want to be, they have to devote their lives to this. This isn’t a story, it’s educating people about what athletes actually go through! I feel that your comment is dismissive and insulting.
Agreed ❤❤❤
I watched the documentary. So heartbreaking. I’m so glad to know people are NOW there to help when exiting sports. Thank you Charlotte for the work you do. Sadly, it takes a tragedy to see changes need to be made
Please do more of these story telling episodes. You're the best storyteller. I'm obsessed 😍 and keep thinking your kids are so lucky to have you. ❤❤❤
Charlotte, I would listen to you talk about anything. What a sad, sad story.
Thank you Charlotte for sharing your professionalism and amazing insight into this tragic story. When a topic is so close to our hearts, helping others to understand the pressures is crucial. As someone who works in the area of mental health and well-being (in education) I thank you for your beautifully elegant way of raising such important awareness to us all. Much love as always. Nina x
That's a side of professional sport that I had never realised existed. I can relate to this because on the 30 October 2010 I performed on stage for the last time. The next morning I woke up and I was blind. It lasted four hours, but that was the end of my singing career. I was diagnosed with a systemic myopathy and I just wasn't strong enough to breathe through a performance. As far as I was concerned, my life was over. I had a backup career, but I couldn't work in any capacity, I couldn't work as a singer, I couldn't work as a pharmacist, my Dr's were really worried and I still haven't recovered. I can't imagine what Katya felt, at that age, to have her entire life and identity ripped away.
🙏🏻
🙏🏻
Which type of myopathy have you? Just curious because I have myopathy too, poloymyopathy . It’s very rare from what I’m told and to get a full conclusive diagnosis a muscle biopsy was performed. I know that I don’t know you and it’s quite a personal question but I’m still trying to understand what happened to me.
Hi, thanks for sharing your personal experience. It takes one to know one. Similarily, I was a passionate musician who had to put an end to my career due to a rare hearing disorder, pain-hyperacusis. People like you that continue on living are truly one of the strongest people walking this planet. Very inspiring!🙏
You explained this so well, Charlotte! It helped that you had some experience in this matter. What a sad story. Thank you for making the time to tell this story.
Thank you for making this video. Though it is a tough subject, I agree that it's so important to hear stories like this. Thank you for making this video!
What an emotional story. Your makeup looked gorgeous, and mine started streaking with tears! Yes, we can always learn and make changes to help our athletes. Thank you for sharing this.
Thanks for sharing this story, it’s tragically sad but we need people like you who have had the same experience to help create awareness, or at least to spread the words❤
Poor poor Katya. 😢I don’t know anything about Olympic sports but my heart feels sore for her and her family. Thank you for telling her heartbreaking story. Xx
I recall this Olympics and all the buzz and interviews with Harley, but never any with Katya.
It’s a heartbreaking story but sadly the way she was treated is not uncommon for young, especially female, athletes.
I appreciate your insight into this matter.
Thank you so much for making this video. When you have a connection to a topic that needs to be heard giving it a voice is a profound kindness. It speaks to who you are. I hope we will see more like this. ❤
❤ you did a fantastic job, it really struck a cord with me, I had my dream job which I trained hard for and worked with a fantastic team. We also would have socialize together. I became ill and was medically retired, I lost so much of myself, because when you are no longer part of that world it's really hard to keep up with people who still are. You grieve for your old life. It does take you to dark places. I was older and had a supportive husband and my children, so my job was just a part of my life. I couldn't imagine being so young and feeling like my only dream had been taken away. I wish she had had the chance to chase another dream x
Thank you Charlotte for telling this story. You did a fantastic job. It was so interesting to hear about your background and can see your passion on continuing to help others. M
Thank you for your perspective and also for the work you do in support of athletes. What a truly heart breaking story.
You told that story so eloquently i was focused on every word! Thank you for bringing light to this young woman’s tragic story and for caring about all athletes and helping them to have the quality of life they deserve!
I know nothing about sport so it had never occurred to me, all the myriad ways in which athletes may need and certainly deserve support as they transition to a new life. Thank you for enlightening us and highlighting an unknown gap in my empathy.
Charlotte thank you for this, it was fascinating! You told the story beautifully, it was very interesting and I could go on listening to you for a long long time!
Thanks!❤
Ugh, so heartbreaking!!! I just watched it! Great that you covered this as I’m sure many ppl are unaware! 😢
Loved this video! The Netflix documentary was devastating. Poor Katya 😢.
Charlotte, this story is hearbreaking! I can relate so much. As a child I did ballet and I was pretty good. As a female ballet dancer you have to be tiny and of course slim. I was that tiny slim child but started to grow as a teenager and when I was 5.7 they told me I can train but a career in classic ballet won"t be possible for me. Too tall. I was devasted. I started doing ballet at the age of four and I loved it. Beeing told at the age of 15 that tis dream is over was hard for me.
Nowadays I am 5.9, worked as a model, studied and have a good job. I still love dancing and do it everyday. At the age of 46 I am glad I was not able to be a pro as my body would be broken by now. It was a long way for me to accept but I did. With the help of my teachers and my family. Thank you so much for telling this story 🖤
Her story brings me to tears every time I see it
Wow! Breaks my heart! Thank u 4 a better understanding of what they go through. Glad ppl learned from this and r changing things 4 the better.
Thank you for this wonderful video, so informative and passionate! I remember this very well and it was so sad. I didn’t know about the documentary but I am adding it to my list now. 💕
Thank you for sharing this very important story and your insights!!!
I related to this a lot as an elite classical musician though conservatory- leaving that path was heartbreaking, and isolating. ❤❤❤ Loved this different type of hang and video. But always love a “hang” with you.
Same here, had to put my music career to an end due to injuries. What about you?
Thank you so much for sharing this story. I will admit I've never really thought much about what happens to athletes once they leave the sport but it has opened my eyes to their possible struggles. You are a very compassionate person and I am thankful there are caring souls like you to help these people adjust to life outside of sports.
I loved figure skating when i was a teen. She was my absolute favorite and so talented! I can only imagine how hard it must be once you decide to retire and most people have been training from a very young age. It's almost like an identity crisis. Like who am I know that I'm no longer competing.
Thank you so much for this enthralling story. How utterly sad and all the while I was thinking about all those nameless athletes who mustered or failed through this transition. And cudos to you 💖
This was so interesting albeit very sad. I’m glad you shared about your career. It’s such an important job and I feel your compassion in every word. This was something I had never thought about but it makes so much sense to have a support system for athletes during their careers and beyond. Thank you Charlotte. Fabulous job.
I love your story times...loveeee them. You are such an amazing storyteller.
Thank you Charlotte for sharing this story, you’re a wonderful storyteller and thank you for talking about your career. There is so much more to a professional athlete’s life than what people see and the shiny, glory moments are few and far between all the hard physical and mental work they have to put themselves through. And it’s great that more countries/governing bodies are investing into looking after their athletes at the point in their careers when they need it most. ❤
This is similar to people coming out of the services or becoming disabled, injury. Alot of people don't like being around people who are down so when you need your support system there most, that actually all of a sudden disappears making things worse.
I'm happy you did this video. You are a really good speaker/storyteller!
What a story! What a story teller! 😊 Fantastic content!
Thank you so much for bringing this issue to light. None of us can know all the struggles people face in this world. All we can do is educate ourselves and do our best to make accomodations if necessary.
Loved this! I am a mom of 3 athletes that competed in college. Two swimmers an one baseball player. I agree 100% with your assessment! My son had an experience with baseball. One day he was getting ready to sign and the next his career was over. Thank you for sharing this story and for your support to other athletes.
Thank you for sharing Katya's story. I watched the documentary. My heart breaks for both Katya and Harley. Katya no doubt found escape in alcohol from the physical and emotional pain that she had to deal with at such a young age. She did not have the life experience or support to help her cope with her isolation and physical pain. I really enjoyed hearing your back story as well. I had no idea really who you are. I recently found your You Tube channel as a result of my new found interest and enthusiasm for luxury makeup. I enjoy your sense of humor. I also really appreciate the peek into your life apart from your channel. Respect!
My daughter is an athlete/performer and she feels some of what you are talking about. TY for this video. I am going to share it with her.
As a Canadian who loves to watch figure skating, appreciate your candour and empathy toward this subject. Because you also have experience in the world of sport and what is needed to support athletes both during and after their career, I found your take on this documentary interesting. Yes, this isn’t your usual content, but I’m glad you delved into another topic for which you have passion.
I enjoyed this video. Like listening to you telling stories. You should do more.
Great video well done❤️💔❤️
Yes it is VERY DIFFICULT for some athletes esp gymnasts when you are over the hill at 20-22 and it has been your ENTIRE life. (My experience) so glad this is getting more attention and taken seriously and thx for using your wonderful voice in this manner🥰
Well, I didn’t know I was going to cry watching your video, but here I am. 😢
You are such a passionate advocate for athletes. It’s amazing!
Firsttttt ❤❤❤❤Yeaaa after sooo much time 🎉Love from Greece 🇬🇷 my beautiful Charlotte ❤ What a story.....
Thank you for sharing this important story Charlotte, your insight is truly so valuable. My other half's life was sport for such a long time and though he never got to turn pro, there was still a lot of what you said in there and how it all ended for him too I'm sure. Like you he was able to pursue a sort of adjacent career but I think he was very fortunate to have had such opportunity open to him. It's great to hear there's a lot more support these days for athletes. Thank you for all you do! x
Thank you for sharing this, Charlotte. It is a story that has impact beyond athletes - for everyone struggling with thoughts that live is without purpose. So important though for athletes and performers who so often begin their careers at tender ages. Thank you ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for the story, you really told it very well. I never knew how difficult it is for young athletes.
I was glued to the screen
I think this is the best video you've ever done. So insightful and a real window into your life. Once an athlete, you're an athlete for life and have to suffer so many consequences following the sacrifices that had to be made. The industry should definitely owes athletes support, post competing. Such a sad story and so many lessons learned. It's a shame Katya had to die for some truths to be acknowledged.
Fabulous video Charlotte, really enjoyed it xxx❤
Such a heartbreaking story but telling us your experience and sharing your knowledge is so interesting and informative. Thank you.
Thank you so much for sharing! This was a really insightful video.
Very well done. I very much enjoyed your storytelling of such a tragic event and actually learned a lot. Thank u!
Your so good at telling stories! ❤
i'm glad you shared this as with your background only you had the ability to share this effectivly i've never heard of any body else on youtube that has the same exprtise to do the story any justice for something so sad i'm going to find the doc on netflix tonight and watch it xc
Love this video style! Pls continue ❤
Very dad story. My heart goes out to her mom. Thank you, Charlotte for sharing.
Thank you,k I really enjoyed your coverage of this. As a former figure skater, I can't even imagine the impact of being so close to making it big, then having it all taken away.
You have my attention 100%!!Breaks my heart!!
Thank you for sharing - your insight and storytelling talent are fantastic.
I enjoyed listening to you telling this tragic story. Please do more of these.
Katya's story made me cry.
I really enjoy your storytelling! Please do more videos like this! Have a great weekend.
Fascinating. Well done. Your insights into top level sport are truly gripping and persuasive.
Thank you for telling this story. I Start a watching It on Netflix but I could tell. It was gonna take a grim turn. In my high school, we had a very competitive volleyball team. And probably 4 of my friends blew out their knees, and were taken out of future Scholarships
, and competing further.
I thoroughly enjoyed this video story so well told by you. Thank you
Thank you!! Such an interesting vidéo !!!! Poor child, it's so sad!!!!!
Thank you for sharing such an important subject that many of us were not aware of, very heart breaking but important to have an awareness.
Charlotte, I really, *really* loved this video, you're a brilliant storyteller. What a gut wrenching story. As a sidenote, I battled addiction in my twenties, and what truly scared me straight is that I developped seizures and epilepsy. One day I had a seizure on a train platform, and onlookers all said that if it wasn't for the quick reaction of a young man near me, I would have fallen on the tracks. I still can't bear to think about it. It looks like she was trying to self medicate, which is so human and understandable, I don't think we can really know the kind of pressure she was under 💔
A lovely glimpse into Charlotte's life. Thank you for sharing your experience and your thoughts.
Great video. Thank you so much for sharing the story and your expertise in the subject.
You speak so well. You can tell us stories anytime!!
Thank you for shedding light on this subject. I appreciate understanding what athletes go though more than I did.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. You have done Katya's story and the larger issue justice.
Thank you for this video, Charlotte. I found it very informative and enlightening (and heart wrenching, too).
Love this kind of video from you… would love to see more deep dives on current events that interest you ❤ You did her proud with this retelling of her story xoxoxo
Thanks for talking about this. Great storytelling. 💕🐾💕💃
Charlotte, I would listen to any topic you wish to talk about because your story telling skills just are that captivating, please don't stop branching out whenever you feel like doing so 😊
Such a sad situation overall. Poor child.
Hi Charlotte
I watched Harley and Katya as well…very sad and too much pressure for a very young girl without her mum in a foreign country. It was moving and emotional 🙋♀️🇬🇧
You’re brilliant. This was such a well told story ❤❤❤
That was fascinating and sp terribly sad. Thank you for sharing Katia's story through your experienced eyes
Heart wrenching! 🥺
Thank you for this video- important ❤
This was an excellent video Charlotte. Bravo.
I wasn’t aware of your past career Charlotte so this was very informative for me. I did watch that documentary a couple weeks ago and didn’t know who Harley and Katya were either but found her story tragic. I am glad there is more support for athletes although sadly there was none for Katya.
Just watched it too. This was heartbreaking story.
You did a fab job here of telling this story. So interesting. Well done
You did a great job on telling this. I was so interested that I actually am going to Netflix to watch the story. Thank you for being awareness
such an important topic. Well done. Thank you. ❤️
