Fun, midweek solve. (14:23)
Not too bad today. On another topic, I suggest you make a distinction between naked pairs and hidden pairs. You seem to call them all hidden pairs.
I 100% distinguish them and know the difference very well. Perhaps you can give an example where I used the wrong term?
@@Rangsk I'm sure you do Rangsk... I certainly didn't mean to suggest otherwise. In my mind the definitions are a bit fuzzy. For example in the Nov 14 puzzle there are two, 26 pairs. The vertical one seems to me to be a naked pair at the time it was found. But I can imagine that if it was found earlier in the solve there would have been other candidates in those two cells and that would make it a hidden pair, right? The same goes for the horizontal 26 pair, hidden at first but naked later. It almost seems that, whether the pair is called naked or hidden is a function of when it was found in the solve. Perhaps you can understand my confusion. Would it be fair to say that naked pairs or triples have to be found at the outset, after all candidates have been filled it?
Nice solve. I've been enjoying your daily nyt Sudoku videos.
Nice soduko, I started with the 38 in column 5
