  • In this video, we're headed to Wazuzu at the Encore. Wazuzu was featured on Food Network's Best Thing I Ever Ate where Giada de Laurentiis raved about the drunken noodles at Wazuzu. Is it as good as she says? I'm going to find out along with several other dishes they have available.

    I'm always on the lookout for great drunken noodles, one of my all-time favorite dishes. Is there a particular place on Spring Mountain you were thinking of? So far, I haven't found anything as good as the one at Thai BBQ in Cerritos, CA. My friend raves about the one at Lotus of Siam but based on a quick sample, it didn't do it for me. Too soupy, but it was only one bite so it may deserve another try. So where's this great drunken noodle on Spring Mountain?!

    I often wonder how many people actually pay for these expensive Vegas restaurants versus them getting comps/food credit?
    Coming from L.A., I would not pay that kind of money for non-Japanese Asian food.
    Salt pepper shelled shrimp, BBQ meats, drunken noodle.... all for under $60 in L.A.'s San Gabriel Valley.

    • @VegaswithShin
      @VegaswithShin  Рік тому +1

      Well let's start with the fact that there are only a handful of places in the entire country that have Asian food availability like the 626. You're very blessed to have access to it. Some may be visiting from towns with very few food options, and this may be their one chance to try this type of cuisine. And a $25 Uber ride each way to and from Chinatown doesn't make the meal off strip that much cheaper.
      I'd also say both the Wynn/Encore have fairly upscale clientele. You can see in my video that the restaurant is packed and no one is blushing at the prices.
      I don't think it's news to anyone at this point in 2023 that the Vegas strip is expensive. If tourists are doing any kind of research at all before coming, they're going to know that it's expensive and they'll need to plan for it. It is what it is now out here. Long gone are the days of $2.99 steak and eggs and $5 prime rib dinners.

    Nothing on the strip has good asian food, even Nobu unless you pay a ton of money for fancy wrappings and is very expensive venture over to the old china town and new for better food prices and experience and these guys getting comped stuff dont believe at all..the are upselling and all about commodification...Nobu has decent food but not that great for the price..and I am not comped by anybody

    • @VegaswithShin
      @VegaswithShin  Рік тому +4

      That's a pretty bold statement to say there's no good Asian food on the strip. I think it's all very expensive comparitively but it's not by any means bad. The strip is expensive, but I don't think that's news to anyone in 2023. Chinatown has amazing food at great prices, but do consider that for tourists, there's still a cost to transportation to and from chinatown that ensues an additional cost that may not make the meal as affordable anymore. Also, I hope you're not insinuating that I was comped this meal. I display the bill in the video for the expressed purpose of showing that I paid for it.

    • @taniadablaing1321

    word of advice bro, stop showing your facial expression and making a noise after each bite you take. it’s totally unnecessary and takes away from your actual review. and this is coming from a longtime viewer, that cringes each time you do it in every video… finally felt the need to say something. Keep up the good work otherwise.

    • @VegaswithShin
      @VegaswithShin  Рік тому +2

      Thanks for the feedback! I've had other commenters say they liked the expressions and close ups but it is more editing and cutting for me. I may try a video where I only do it for bites with a lot of impact. My next video is already cut but I'll try it for my May 6th video. Let me know what you think then! Thanks for watching!

    • @VegaswithShin
      @VegaswithShin  Рік тому

      I appreciate the feedback GJP. That's a bit tougher for me to accommodate. I'm very much myself during my videos and I'm speaking at my normal pace. I'm not sure I can consciously think about talking slower while I'm focusing on analyzing the flavors I'm tasting. A stylistic choice with edits is something I'm willing to play with but I can only really be me on camera. UA-cam does have a playback speed setting so you may want to see if slowing the video down in general helps.Thanks!
