Hi Jeremy now I know why you were so eager to sell your PSR E463... think you should have kept it, though, because it is really great for teaching and learning the basics of keyboard playing, it has nic sounds and is easy to use. As for this Korg, I love the ergonomics. It is great to have the iconic Korg joystick on an entry-level arranger. I also love the lighted buttons - it helps seeing which functions are switched on or off. The Line Out sockets are also very convenient. This keyboard is missing some basic functions, though, esp. the arpeggiator 😢😢😢 it is also a pity it doesn’t have a rhythm editor. I went to the city with the idea of coming back with a PSR E 463 and instead, tried a Casio CT-X3000 and I liked it so much that I decided to order one to be able to try it out quietly at home, it is due to arrive later this week 😎😎😎🎹🎼 I am dreaming of the perfect entry-level arranger: the functionalities and sound engine of the Casio CT-X5000, the ergonomics of the Korg EX50 with its joystick and big screen, the live Knobs and USB audio digital interface of the PSR E463. Yes, I read about your CTX adventures on psrtutorial.com. You will have lots of fun with it once you get used to the frustrating interface. I have ordered a set of EX-50. They have been hiding a demo unit for a few weeks in their shop. They can only officially release the unit to me in mid October. My channel is too small 😭
Go Korg! My only gripe with the layout is octave shift. Octave shift shouldn’t be used with the Shift key. The Transpose/Octave should be reversed. If you’re playing piano having to press Shift prior to Octave will be a problem. If I didn’t already have the Korg MicroArranger, I’d pick one of these up. Looking forward to your full review.

Hi Jeremy - thanks for a fantastic channel. You said somewhere that no keyboard can properly emulate the Hammond B3 & Leslie sound. I do agree, but as a church player I am looking for decent organ sounds & especially that rotary speaker sound. Our old Yamaha keyboard has pretty awful organ voices. Are the EK50’s organ sounds ok & can the joystick control the “rotary” speed? Thanks.
Byw, Jeremy nice tutorials, i've been watching all of 'em x4 in a row, its really hard to find something when nothing is Perfect, its always neglicted to 95% ! and manufacturers rush things out...and as u many times said "its a piety that just to insert few buttons to polish the package, coz all syst programming already well-done !" However, i'd understand if one manufacturer like Yamaha does that, while others dont. Unfortunately, it isnt the case coz they all bring back that same mistakes over and over in any models' categories...I fully understand ur frustration about that, and it's same for all of us ;/
Does it have applause sound and what is it if it's included? My roland Go! Keys 3 has a applause sound that actually sounds like a real game show audience. I wonder if Korg's applause sound is just applause or has crowd cheering.
You can call me crazy. But think this Korg should be lighter, slimmer, fewer buttons in about 34". Lose the mod wheel for a pressure strip. Does Korg have one? Or I just might have to consider the Roland Go Keys. Or make me 49 key model with the mod wheel for playing IOS synths over usb!

Im stuck between that Korg EK 50, (50L) and PSR-E463...is there some brand that combines +o- those 2 from "elementary features" within a ranging price between 400€ et 600€ ? coz i've been searching for days and weeks, Korg Kross 1 (doesnt exist anymore) instead of Kross 2, then is I3, then in Casio is Privia PX S3000, CT X5000 or X3000, then with Yamaha is E463 and EW410...always small/big models at same price ranging. its either something at 400€ or 800-850€ NEED HELP !
Puzzling, that this "Beginner" keyboard appears to lack an Arpeggiator feature, and accompanying sound snippets of acoustic instruments didn't sound any better than Yamaha "Sweet" sounds or Casio AiX. However, I am astounded that Korg marketing wonks have discovered a way to solve the world's Energy Crisis by generating 20 Watts of sound with only 8 Watts of electricity! Maybe, instead of a Nobel prize for that claim - Korg only qualifies for a No-bull warning? The EK-50 isn't available in the USA, and none of the major dealers have a timeline yet; however, that's probably for the best, as in another 2~3 weeks, Jeremy will have found reasons to HATE the EK-50 and will post another video advising us NOT to buy it...
It is odd that you make a negative comment on KORG’s power consumption spec when clearly your knowledge is lacking. Power consumption specifications are generally always giving when the product is operating in a quiescent state. So KORG are correct and you are wrong on this point.

Just got mine a few days ago, why can't I turn up volume of right hand sound like grand piano for example etc etc? I can hear a distant feint sound. I must have pressed something and I don't want to do a factory pre-set! When I just want to play without accompinment using Grand Piano or guitar trumpet etc, I can't get the volume of that sound to go loud at all. it's very feint. The accomp volume is fine but when I select another intrument to play without accomp I can barelt hear it. . I press the keyboard set and turn the wheel but that doesn't make any difference any suggestions? Would be grateful for any help.

I only have one simple Yes/No question: Can the Arranger part of the performance be output or saved in some way to midi? I'm looking frantically for pretty much any kind of these "Auto-Accompaniment" instrument which can do that to replace my trusty 30 y/o Roland KR model (which had that feature but is finally on its last breath).
The sounds are amazing. However, it cant be used as a real workstation because you cant record track by track. The manual does not show it clearly. When you erase record in user song, you cant erase the wrong part but whole song is erased. In short, this KORG EK 50 has incredible sounds....but it is only an instrument, not a workstation.

It may be good, but what does it look like? Korg does not seem to be able to make a normal display and GUI, it always looks like a photocopier display of the 80s, pitiful and terrible. I would not to buy this ... for example Yamaha is as good as it this and even nice ... :-)

A work around for the mic input is to connect a mini mixer to the audio in, so you can also add in a guitar..

The EK organs are OK. But there are much better organs out there.

I found it on the manual eventually, you have to press and hold the shift button and use the dial to change the tempo :)

Can anyone tell me why I lost the sound on the keyboard when using the Grand Piano? There is a faint chord sound but I can't get it back to the Grand Piano sound.

I might buy this one one day I love it. And the headphone jack looks like it will accommodate the standard size without using a 1/4 in adapter. Very incredible 😎😉😉😁
It may be good, but what does it look like? Korg does not seem to be able to make a normal display and GUI, it always looks like a photocopier display of the 80s, pitiful and terrible. I would not to buy this ... for example Yamaha is as good as it this and even nice ... :-)
is there a way to enable sustain without using a pedal, like a quick access mode?
