DJDoubleCee yea but he had way more peaks than that. I think in his American badass/big evil , he was too heavy/over weight. But after 2004 , when he brought he’s deadpan persona back , he slim down and got in the best shape again for his early 40s career. He was one of a kind. John cena already quit doing full time in wwe before Turning 40.
Yup and his 1998 run went downhill after that night. He broke his ankle jumping down from the cage. Storylines were still great, but the full potential was never seen
1998 was the best year in WWF history IMO. >Austin ran amok. >Undertaker was at his deadman peak. >Foley's 3 faces at different times. >DX. >Kane looking like a horror villain. >Rock rising to the main event. >Formation of the Corporation & Ministry. >Crazy carry on each Raw is War episode.
The Lord of Darkness version of the Undertaker is my favorite version of his. Besides his Ministry of Darkness gimmick, nothing will ever top or come close to this 97-98 days for me.

Some of his bios touch on certain superstars WWE doesn’t want to mention in their history like Chris Benoit and Owen Hart and a few others that I wish was more shown even though one did commit something so unforgivable and one they can’t blame for that superstars family cutting ties with the company for the death their loved one

Thank you so much for uploading Undertaker 1998 which is my favourite year of The Undertaker's 90s run, he had the best attire which i consider to be his most iconic look and his entrance at Wrestlemania 14 is the greatest ever. He was so popular with the fans and the pops he would get everytime he came out were just absolutely insane that at times rivaled Stone Cold's reactions. Undertaker had a whole year of great rivalries from HBK to Kane to Stone Cold and made history with Mankind in the most talked about hell in a cell of all time, he had memorable segments with Paul Bearer and Vince Mcmahon and we got to see more of a human side to his personality. This in my opinion is my all time favourite Undertaker era and definitely in my top 5. Nothing will ever come to close to this.
Taker best years 98-99 height of the attitude era his music promos he was his scariest and biggest body wise ministry of darkness was awesome I really wish he would end his career doing a throwback to this time
Undertaker was more like a Romero Zombie. "Graveyard", "Deadman".. I don't see that comparison to Myers except for the sit up. But that could be a zombie thing too. But yeah Mankind was definetly Leatherface inspired.
I was live at Unforgiven 1998, and yes, the heat from the Inferno Match make the whole building sweat, and I could even feel it from in the nosebleeds... what a great match.
Side note from Taker's story - this year breakdown just reminds me how great a villain Mr. McMahon was before he became the grapefruit swinging, ass bearing, "you're fired" screaming despot (though like everybody I enjoy that version of the character too lol). He was methodical, calculated and slowly played the characters off on each other for his own ends. The arced storylines usually involved him somehow, and it made the stories week-to-week more gratifying if you were following along.
Taker ankle was broke during the hell in a cell match and he said when mankind climbed up the cell he didn't even know if he could make it up and still tough it out and had a classic
My favorite Taker era. As a 10 year old I was thrilled watching Raw on cable with my father. Taker was my favorite even as a heel. Damn, this is somehow why I still care about wrestling.
Stellar video again mate. I say put a pause on all your other videos and keep doing these Undertaker ones ... it's just a fascinating career and you're covering it superbly!
14:10 changed professional wrestling forever. Kudos to both of them to carrying with the match. By the time the match was done Mick had a shoulder injury and tooth hanging out and Undertaker already came into the match with a broken ankle
The version from 1997-98 with the long robes and that Graveyard Symphony music was the best version of the Undertaker for me and he had some great matches as well in 1997 and 1998
He was in great shape, at least as great a shape as a wrestler can be in given the workload, and he was so intimidating. I always liked him, but this was the start of me LOVING him.
First time viewer and totally blown away by the information, fine details and presentation. It took me back to my teenage years. Well done, superb work.
I was at that Raw when Taker was on top of the Titantron. Phoenix AZ 1998. Same Raw where The Rock gave that vicious chair shot to Ken Shamrock right in his face
in my opinion '98 undertaker was the best, i liked the build up to his wrestlemania match with kane and of course 98 was also the year of THE hell in a cell match with mick foley. i loved his theme song too, still one of my favs
As many amazing personas Undertaker had in his career, my all time favorite was 1998 Taker, specifically from June 1, 1998 (when we first seen the ABA Taker dressed in a black shirt and when Taker cut a worked promo aimed at Vince Mcmahon) until the Ministry of Darkness was formed in October 1998.
I'm pretty sure it was Jacobs with fake tattoos, which is why for a period of time in 1998 Kane wore a two sleeve variation of his attire while they were fading. Could be wrong, though EDIT: Looking at the pictures of him without the coat, definitely looking like Taker's arms (physique wise.) I'm probably wrong here
I'm sorry but my favorite version of Undertaker is his very first debut version. However the ministry theme and outfit is really cool and I wished that he used the ministry walkout theme when he came back for this year's wrestlmania
Though the Lawler/ Bearer "eavesdropping" segment was hilarious because it was so left field, the only moment that was tastefully worse was HHH dressed as Kane defiling a "corpse" in a casket. It seemed like the Taker/ Mankind feud was done as Taker was embroiled with Kane, & then the Taker/ Mankind saga was reignited again out of nowhere, or at least that's how I remember it. Going into their HIAC match, you seemingly knew Foley was gonna take most of the bumps. He doesn't get enough credit for putting over stars who were already over seem like supermen, including The Rock, Shawn, HHH, & Taker. You can only imagine what was going though Taker's mind when he was preparing to toss Foley off the cage. The Inferno match showcased great production values by the WWE at that time, & Mark & Glenn were true champs for agreeing to do that match, staged or not. I'm not advocating for anyone to get hurt, no matter who they are, but I always wondered if Shawn getting injured at the '98 RR was karma for the 97 SS...
I'd love to see you redo some of these older videos. You've come a long way and your newer, looser personality is so good. I'd love to hear that looser take on a lot of these older ones. Love your stuff brother.
20:10- So no one else was confused watching this? WB said this was Kane wearing Undertakers gear, but this was still during the time when Kane was still “burned”. So why would he be wearing Undertakers short sleeved gear revealing his unburned arms and unburned chest?

1998 was truly a great year for WWF/E they 4 way dynamic of Taker Kane Austin Mankind and others like The Rock and HHH on the perifirary just great stuff. You can see why this was time when the Monday Night Wars starting to swing in the favour of WWF great matches great storylines and no matter how far things got they still managed to keep pushing the envelope further. This was the time when I really started paying attention to WWF, up until then I was firmly a WCW watcher but round this time I was watching both, and towards the later part of 1999 I was WWF all the way!!!
