Welcome back. Pleased you are on the mend. As often happens - your suggestions wreck my budget. My eye surgery is done and so far my vision is good. Now I plan to tackle my stacks and stacks of books. Good health for 2025. Don’t overdo. Thank you for introducing me to Princeton and Yale University and other University presses and their sales. I’ve added a number of excellent books to my shelves.
Hey Peg Happy new Year to you. I am so glad that you are feeling better. Looking forward to seeing you in the new year with your great selection of books. Just do what you can do, don't worry about us. We will appreciate any new episodes regardless when they come out.. I love those chunkers. I love the feeling of one of those massive tomes in my hands and also the way they look on my shelf. Take care and Go Lions !
I'm so happy to see you back and even more happy to hear that you are feeling better. I look forward to seeing more of you very soon. I'm excited at the prospect of the return of Agatha. I love those videos. I have a few of the Poirot, so I might even be able to really join in! Take care. Here's hoping you are 100% well very soon.
So good to see you. Glad you are feeling a little better. You have a really nice selection of books there. The ones that got my attention were that nice copy of Henry V and the one on Tudor England. Those always draw me in. Thanks for sharing.
We seem to have many books in common. Henry V should be a good read as Dan Jones is author that makes all his topics accessible. Anything concerning the Tudor period and Richard 3, are my sort of reading. Glad you are gradually feeling better.
Fernando Pessoa is the most fascinating personality and character you can imagine. I mean in real life. Also an incredible poet. Thank you for highlighting Richard Zenith's book. I have reserved at the library and will likely buy it. Please stay healthy! 👍
Glad you're feeling better, Peggy!! Glad you managed to pick up a copy of Richard B. Frank's Tower of Skulls. What a fantastic book, and built on all the latest research into Chinese activities during WW2. The worry is now that he might not complete the trilogy. He is getting on a bit! LOL!! Still have to get my head around the fact that he was a platoon leader in the 101st during the Vietnam War. Good luck with Pessoa!!
Glad you're on the road to recovery! Just the other day, I was thinking that it had been a while since you'd done a video, and figured it was due to the holidays and not two weeks of flu hell. I picked up two books over the holidays, Anne Applebaum's "Red Famine" and Nicole Eaton's "German Blood, Slavic Soil: How Nazi Konigsberg Became Soviet Kaliningrad ." Applebaum impressed me with her book on the Gulags, and Eaton's book got my attention because one of my areas of interest is the large-scale movements of people following the Second World War. The Henry V book you purchased looks very interesting, and I may have to get it.
I missed you and wondered what was going on. Your channel is one I love and enjoy. I always look forward to your books and what your opinions are. Glad you are feeling better. There’s sweet little boomer. I can’t to get and read Henry v. I just finished Dan jones the Plantagenets and loved it. The text is so easy to read. I know your tickled pink about the lions. Don’t know who I’m gonna pull for yet. Matty Stafford ga boy, the lions, a Or Josh Allen who doesn’t like him. I always likedJim Kelly so I’d like to see the bills win.
Glad you are up and around! Sounds indeed like a miserable two weeks. Wish I could tell you that I used those two weeks well in your absence, but I'm actually finding it hard to account for them. 🤔 I chalk it up to digital addiction. Falling behind in Proust, Dante, Hist2025, and something else. No! Two something elses. A philosophy-thon and a science reading challenge. Interesting that you mentioned Jonny Keen as I just started watching him this week after hearing about him for a long time. Take care! Drink lots of tea or something.
Sorry you were so sick, Peg, but happy to see you back. I hope the pups were good nurses for you.

You must read some of Fernando Pessoa's poems. He is amazing!
Happy New Year, Peg! Wondering if you have any Canadian history book recommendations. Thanks!
