I love it when Drum Corps and Marching Bands play Latin music. It just fits and it always sounds good! And by the way, it brings back memories from when I marched in Drum Corps and Marching Band when we played Latin music. Ohhh gosh, we were jamming!!! And we went internationally with that!!

Damn, they might not be playing on Gs but this is the most 70s style drum corps performance I’ve ever watched. Huge kudos for an amazing interpretation of the original Watrous chart.

Well I mean one of the trumpets played a double A

It would be cool if they had an arrangement on G bugles. I imagine they’re not using G bugles with this arrangement since it sounds like it’s in D minor.

@@IsaiahSMC he is talking about G bugles no the notes they are playing lmao

July 4th in Bristol was always my favorite part of tour when I marched, Horn arcs by the ocean. People partying. Little side concerts etc. Great food. It was a blast.

Amazing how good drum corps sounds without electronics and vocals!!!

True, although a Wurlitzer tossed into the mix wouldn’t hurt :)

pearlsnaredrummer77 it wouldn't sound better with g bugles. Just louder and out of tune

They sound good with electronics and vocals too

This is the 'BEST' Tiger🐯 of San Pedro I've ever heard; thanks Cadets!
Other Corps and Marching Bands played Tiger 🐯 of San Pedro back in the day like......
The Warriors Drum and Bugle Corps 1972-77
and Jackson State University Sonic Boom of The South

It was really good and just reminded me of how great the '79 Guardsmen really were! Hats off to Garfield though, it sounded really nice and had the vibe Guardsmen had! Nothing beats the '79 Guardsmen version of TOSP, yet.

Tiger of San Pedro! I remember playing it in HS 30+ years ago. Nice to hear a corp doing a tune that's not so "uptight" as all of them seem to be doing. Shostako-what? LOL

Hey Mr.Zicha, did you say that you might be able to get the music? Since your son is the soloist and all? I've learned it by ear, but I want make sure I got all the right notes. Thanks, P.S. Congrats on OTT Cadets

I wish drum corps went back to execution-based scoring, where this kind of solid, entertaining full piece was more rewarded.

Justin Rouzier One of the great old standards of another era. In 1980, two Finalists played it (Guardsmen and Crossmen). Try to find the recordings of Guardsmen in 1979 (and 80 too).
