- Not everyone is lucky enough to live in arms reach of large venues, most have to make do with smaller, more intimate ones. Although you might think, the smaller the venue, the easier it is, this couldn’t be further from the truth! Small venues are notoriously difficult to master and take a unique approach to unlock their potential.
Taking him away from the larger venues he is used to, Scott Lloyd took on the task of tackling the historic Dolly Mill in North Lincolnshire. Once famously owned and ran by none other than Rod Hutchinson, this little lake is home to some fantastic northern characters that have without doubt seen every trick in the book. Watch closely as Scott pulls out all the stops to try and land his first north east carp!

Can't see why anyone would be negative about any of these videos, there all different & might not be exactly how some like to fish but you will learn something hopefully by watching them, I for one have enjoyed watching all of them for different reasons, so keep up the good work guys it's much appreciated in these tough tines👍
Nice one Scott,Great filming, nice video, just shows it dosnt have to be all monsters to make a good watch.
You got that right, thanks for watching, Alan!
Small water challenge and he’s out in the boat putting H blocks out lmoa
When in Rome I suppose, if you have the option why not
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I've fished some very small intimate waters and if you had to get the boat out for any reason it'd be rare for the lake to do a bite in the next 48 hours.
I guess it's possibly something the fish can get used too.
@@theukwildlifechannel1696 Yep , H blocks and boats are more of a European method of carp fishing , small venues generally don’t even allow boats or even bait boats anyway
Great video plus awesome looking fishery ... would you be able to share any details about how to book a trip on Dolly Mill please 😁😁😁👍👍👍👍
Hi Daz, glad you enjoyed the film! Dolly Mill isn't quite ready for full public access yet, but keep your eyes peeled online for more information
@@ThinkingAnglersTV Thanks I sure will 😁😁😁👍
Gorgeous location and great video
Many thanks!
The local kebab shop is banging. Great video anyway really enjoyed it.
We will have to bear that in mind for next time! Thanks, Brendon!
Yes lad nice to see you fishing this type of venue learnt so much information everytime i watch you mate catching some proper nice carp 👏🔥🎣
Glad you enjoyed it, Chris!
Looks like the perfect venue for feeding spots close in under your feet and lowering a rig in.
Sit back and wait for carnage 💥
Unfortunately you can't fish from the far bank itself, otherwise this could well be the case!
@@ThinkingAnglersTV Referring to all along near bank that you were able to fish.
Looked like enough features in the margins close in to snare the odd fish
Bacon looks banging! 👍🏻
This lads pretty good. Most importantly he's intelligent and erudite.
What's wrong with fishing just the one rod, and catching the one carp at a time? Oh! I must be able to get three rods in? Crazy, no wonder people think carp anglers are bonkers.
Never seen a man move so fast as that 😂😂👀
You could hardly tell he was carrying a bit of lockdown weight!
Chod rig all day long on there
Smart little common.
can anyone tell me why he put two H blocks down?
It’s not the way I do my h block work. He marked the area and the other block was for his rig
When you've placed your first rig, then boat out second what do you do if the fist rod rips off when your in middle of lake who gets the rod the camera man sound man or you got someone else to do it? Not sure that's safe angling..Any reply to that?...........LC
maybe errrr go back quickly to strike it.....
It's just one of those things, of course with camera men in tow, they would of course pick up a rod if Scott was out in the boat. But there's not much you can do, other than paddle quickly! There's nothing unsafe about it, with tight clutches any fish aren't going anywhere fast.
@@ThinkingAnglersTV exactly, it was a stupid comment
If that situation happened while in your boat, you don’t panic and get back to the rods as quick and safely as possible. But if you have camera crews they will grab the rod. If your snag fishing close to them, I’d suggest you leave that rod to put out last. But if I was boat fishing up to the snags it’s not going to be a good way to fish safely, unless you’re in a double swim with your friend so If your out placing your rig in boat he will have control.
What caps he wearing with the glasses holders. I like it
Fortis make the cap, not sure on the exact model though
What was the name of the lake can’t catch what u say
Dolly Mill 👍🏻
It says it in the description
What’s the complex?
Scott, Lincolnshire is NOT in the north east mate 😂😂😂😂😂
It was North Lincolnshire.... does that count? hahaha!
Yes go back very quickly, perhaps dont do it in first place woukd be better......LC
Having the lake to yourself and using a boat is hardly normal fishing..
not your most nurishing vid of scott, small water with no one else on, using a boat lol, kids would catch on there, get him on the head banger waters, thats where he most at home
We did take him out of his comfort zone for this one. Maybe next year, we could try something else! Thanks for watching!
