The tv show Coach always made me think of fall. Even though it was all inside scenes, the always wore sweaters and jackets then the scenes in his cabin home, you can feel the chilly, cloudy fall weather. Loved it.
Robin Williams used to vacation about a mile from my house (in the fall oddly enough). He would go for jogs regularly and I saw and waved to him several times but never spoke to him. People that did meet him said he was kind, friendly, and extremely funny.
Interesting how you mentioned Goonies was filmed in Oregon as that was the state I was born in, and I saw that area not long after the film was shot there in the early 80s. One film I don't have anymore but would fit on this list is In Dreams, with the apple orchard being a setting it gives that kind of constant vibe. No way, I thought I was one of the only people who remembers Dark Night of the Scarecrow, I only saw it once long time ago but it freaked me out. Knives Out is one of the last 4K's I just recently picked up.
Good list man I haven't seen the Lake House I'm going to check that out, another good one that doesn't get mentioned much is The Good Son. It has late fall early winter vibe to me
thank you! Yeah, I am a big fan of The Lake House! I think it is well done and draws you in!... The Good Son is a really good call! Good creepy ass movie too!
Nice list. Halloween and Halloween II, the originals, always 'feel' right to me, especially the night scenes. Seeing Donald Pleasence after he finds Michael's car and is crossing the street you can see trees in the background that have been TP'd...I so remember seeing that when I was a kid on Halloween and it brings those vibes right back. I always have a pumpkin patch out back, by they way...the vines are starting to die off now and this year I have five big pumpkins nearly ripe that we'll carve into Jack O' Lanterns!
thank you! yeah, I tried to stay away from "halloween" themed or focused movies for this list because I will have so many halloween focused lists coming... I wanted to try and separate fall from halloween but it always does creep in!
Hey man, just wanted to pop in here and say I love the background displays in your videos. I know thats one of those things that gets overlooked and taken for granted, but its honestly one of the reasons I keep watching your videos. I love the color and the lighting you have and its that attention to detail that I appreciate. It does not go unnoticed!
Awesome video man, love to see you tackle this topic! I’m also a fan of The Lake House and Dark Shadows. And Good Will Hunting is one of my top favorite movies ever.
Thanks man! So many people have never even heard of The Lake House even with Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves in it! But I really enjoy it! And Dark Shadows was bound to get me because of growing up watching the soap opera with my mom and grandmother lol... I like the kinda dark comedic tone they went with it with Depp's portrayal being kind of fish out of water....And I am right there with you on Good Will Hunting! It came out my senior year of high school so I was like prime age for it!
A movie I have always associated with Fall - Dutch. 1991 movie with Ed O'Neill picking up his girlfriends, JoBeth Williams, kid from private school and taking him home on a road trip for Thanksgiving. Its Ed O'Neill so the comedy ensues and the kid is a little smart alec all along the way. Recommend highly if youve never seen it.
I think my favorite thing about your lists is that you're not worried about whether or not the movie is considered "cool". You keep giving me more movies to add to my watchlist!
that makes me very happy! I love adding to anyone's watch list! Yeah, I have never been a trendy person or someone who worried about what was popular and Im too old to start now, so I just talk about all the movies I like and why I like them lol... I am glad it connects with you and you enjoy it!
The love the fall vibes in movies. Appreciate the video, I’ve been hoping more people would cover the subject. Happy first day of autumn 🍂 and some football later today
thank you! yeah, I had been making myself wait for the first day of fall and then when Daniel at The Cobwebs channel did his list, I had to swap out 1 or 2 of mine but I couldnt wait to do it! I love fall! Happy first day of Autumn to you too!
Great list and idea! A lot of films I'm a big fan of and they definitely have the fall vibe. I think the only one I haven't seen is The Lake House. I'll have to give that one a watch. Being a Notre Dame fan Rudy is one of my favorites. It really does capture the fall vibe. I saw someone else mention the Jerry Goldsmith score. It does have a fall feel to it too as much as a score can. I always remember going to my grandparents during the fall and listening to the soundtrack on cassette on the way as the leaves were falling.
Good list man. Fall is the best!!! Side note, nobody talks about Lady in White enough. Such an underrated movie but great Halloween/Fall movie. I also used to watch Dark Shadows with my mom when I was little and got to visit some of the locations when I went to Sleepy Hollow for Halloween last year.
thanks! ah, I mention Lady in White at the end, and it is coming on another video for sure!!... Dark Shadows I remember so much from being young and watching it with my mom and grandmother! That is one I need to pick up on physical media!
My pick for Fall 🍁🍂 vibes movie is the Spirit Halloween 🎃 movie. Laugh if you want, but the atmosphere in that movie is peak Fall 🍁🍁 vibes. Even though most of the movie takes place in a Spirit Halloween store. 🎃🎃
I tried to stay away from Halloween-centered movies on this list because I am about to have a bunch of halloween focused movie lists coming where you may find that movie :)
Girl Interrupted has this same cozy vibe. Stepmom too. Homeward Bound at the end, I think it's Thanksgiving. Lots of horror films. I love Dead Poets Society. I forgot, Hocus Pocus.
Great list my man! I actually ordered the Lakehouse as I don’t ever think I’ve seen it and I love me some Keanu Reeves. And it sounds like a damn good film I’d love. Welcome to one of the best times of the year brother! Hope all is well!
I am currently watching this video, so I don't know yet if you mentioned this movie but 1981's On Golden Pond is not only a great fall movie but just a great movie altogether. It stars Henry Fonda, Katherine Hepburn and Jane Fonda. A great story. Highly recommend!
First of all I checked out Burton's Dark Shadows movie for the first time a few weeks back and it was better than I expected. A lot of people rip on this movie so I didn't expect it to be good. Second, I love Rudy for Jerry Goldsmith's score. To me this is probably his finest work he ever created. Tryouts is a perfect time to crank up the volume and run that sprint when working out.
THANK YOU for laughing at "autumnal" -- perhaps the most overused word on UA-cam this time of year. Gotta check out Lake House. I remember dragging my buddies to Harry Met Sally opening weekend. Caught so much crap about it on the way there, but then they ended up laughing their asses off (btw, Meg Ryan at her absolute hottest and most adorable). Growing up in Oregon, it was a total trip seeing Goonies (at the drive-in, no less) just a year after my 8th grade class trip to Astoria. Knives Out is a more recent fall favorite, just too bad the sequel blew. Some fall must watches for me: Fatal Attraction, First Blood, Flatliners, The Fog, What Lies Beneath, Big, It (the original mini-series). Keep up the great work!
Lol I think it is overused on UA-cam too and I always kind of chuckle when I hear it because it isn't one we hear almost ever in our every day lives 😄 The lake house is 100% worth your time! The goonies is classic to me but I'm not sure why nobody ever has it on their fall watch list!! You're gonna see some of those other movies you mentioned on some other upcoming lists!!
One movie I think that captures the autumn vibe so well but I think it’s universally hated. Hear me out, Big Bully with Rick Moranis and Tom Arnold. I always got a lightweight horror vibe from it, and looked up the director it’s Steve Miner who did Friday the 13th 2 and 3, House, and Halloween H20. No wonder I always felt that vibe. Pop that tape in and check it out, if you haven’t
Happy 1st Day of AUTUMN 🍂🎃🍁🍂 I have some great Must Watch movies to give you all the Fall "feels" so pop that tape in, I got you, let's go do this!

it was 94 and about 95% humidity in Georgia yesterday too lol
I agree 100% with everything on this list. The only thing I would add would be Lord of the Rings. The Fellowship sets out during Fall.
yeah the scene where the fellowship is all standing together sticks out in my mind for that!
Someone get this man Rudy in 4k!
Rudy Rudy Rudy Rudy lol
yeah I need that 4k big time lol
