My family and I lived in a Skyline late 60's to early 70's! When winter came we froze..plastic over the windows because there were no storm windows, cold wind would would blow in around light switches and wall outlets! The furnace never stopped running and finally had to have a new motor replaced every winter. Orange tinted paneling with green carpeting one bathroom, three small bedrooms and a tiny living room and kitchen! I would hope by now Skyline has straightened out there problens!

Wow! These houses are built better than site built homes by most large scale builders. The focus on employee comfort and safety is outstanding

You did and amazing job at showcasing the structural benefits of Factory Built Housing and demonstrating and sharing the fact that we have some great minds in our industry (with both innovative thinking and superior build quality).

Cool video but it doesn't make sense to use wood framing for a mobile home. They should be using light gauge steel which is proven to be structurally stronger than wood. They also skimped on interior framing as usual at 4:19 since it's clearly random spacing and not the common 16-inch on center.

They are definitely not air tight and have absolutely zero insulating factors. When you use only staples as fasteners, you are bound to fail the structural integrity of the build. 2x2 wood for rafters is as cheap as possible. Absolutely no craftsmanship, just a bad investment!

And to think they showed these parts knowing it was going to be shown to the public. I live in a new manufactured home and refurbishing an older manufactured home, Frankly, they are still crap structures. Especially if you have vinyl siding. No shear for the structure other than 3/8 inch drywall stapled on the edges and glued, egh-egh, (cough), in the field. Some concepts are great. but the over all finished product has much to be desired.
I can literally get into a manufactured home with my bare hands...no windows...no doors...just through the wall. The lap siding would make it more difficult but vinyl siding...grab it and pull. Then push through the 1/4 inch of low density Styrofoam, pull out some fiberglass and push in the drywall.
Not very secured but then what home is?
Oh, should a fire start...bye bye. Plastic, styroam and wood are a recipe for a-blaze.
I can go on but if this doesn't suggest another option, why bother.

Ahh...I have seen worse but, yeah.
Notice how they do the electrical for exterior walls.

They are not tradesmen &; most countries require inspections and wiring and plumbing systems done by journeyman who have been through an apprenticeship!!! You need to be put out of business immediately!!!!
