If you use Printful, do you need to start a legal process of registering your business name & brand logo or you can do that after if Let's say I move to Amazon FBA after several years?
I started an e-commerce business last year using print on demand and generated ~$200k in my first year! I saved all the money I made from my print on demand business and I’m now investing it into my private label business with Amazon (which is much slower and costly than POD, even though the profits and margins are typically higher). Highly recommend print on demand for anyone looking to get involved in e-commerce but may not have a huge budget to start out with. The best part is - I now have a ton of designs created from last year and I still get orders daily on those products! Cheers!
Everyone starts from scratch. You don't need money - you need patience, believe, passion to go ahead whatever happens. Believe you can because you can.
Thats BS. You will always need cash, even if its a POD business or a dropshipping one. So, apart from this motivational speech, you always need money to start any kind of business.
Hi Tatiana! I’m a 21 year old who has always had a fulltime job and I’ve been wanting to work for myself and I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your helpful and very knowledgeable videos. You are so well spoken and organized, you’re one of the only you tubers I can watch your videos all the way to the end. Thanks again, god bless.
I've been watching a lot of your videos after finding your channel recently. I am making notes and after saving a small amount, my girlfriend and I are going to try an ecom store. I really think you're a great role model and mentor to learn from, thank you so much.
Thanks for your video :) Very informative. But I have questions : 1. Does it really work ? 2. How much costs do you have ? 3. Have you started with a business plan ?
This is a great video and tutorial and its much appreciated. The only problem is realistically you still need money in order to actually start since you still have to pay for what is sold on your website. otherwise, this is legitimately a great way to get started with little money you have for the investment.
Thank you Tatiana, when I saw the title, I went directly to watch you. I was worry that I couldn’t make it since I was thinking I need to have more money to be able to start. You answer my concerns.
Wow thank you so very much! As this is a sign because the day you uploaded this video, is the day I found out from a customer about print on demand! It must be a sign and I thank God for you and your husband! I have tried all different Ecom businesses except for this one! I’m so tired of looking for products and stocking products, this sounds like it’s perfect for me! Thank you again Tatiana and have a blessed evening!
I just found your channel a yesterday, and I just watched the video - The SECRET To SUCCESS In Life And Business which was uploaded 10 months back, and I can't tell you how much it helped me as I was very demotivated due to my current situation. SO THANKFUL for this info Tatiana!! Thank you! I have been looking into this for awhile now. I will start here and with profits invest into amazon!!! Thank you very much for the info. I cannot express how helpful you truly are
OMG…. I have been researching the best way to start a online store… I click on your video and in my mind “I know I have seen her before” and then it hit me… Amazon FBA… wow you look amazing.
I really love everything about this video it is absolutely so kind of you to share your remarkable ideas to everyone to get them start owning your own business thank you so much lovely you are an angel
Thank you, Tatiana, I'm thinking to start my e-commerce store and was seriously concerning Amazon FBA but after your video, I'm considering to use Printful so thank you 😊
Hello victoria just be aware that you must have money set aside. Printful does charge you first for the item your selling. A lot of people don't know this.
Good information. However, I don't understand why people say that you can "start with no money," when in reality, if someone purchases an item from your POD store, Printful will NOT fulfil the order until it's paid for in advance. When I started my POD business, I was under the impression that the order was paid for from the money collected from customers. But depending on how your customers pay for their order, it could take days before you actually get the money. In the meantime, Printful requires you to pay for the order upfront. Yes, little to no money is needed for the inventory, but you definitely need money to process orders.
Yeah I was under the impression that the payment processing was linked too. But Printful won't fulfill the order unless you manually pay for it using your wallet. If you're using woocommerce it takes a full week before funds are available for the first time.... There needs to be a solution to where it just goes directly to printful.
I experienced this as well. I started an Etsy POD store and I did not receive the money from Etsy for several days. I could wait until Etsy deposits the money, but that would add an extra 5-7 days on the shipping time. I don't understand why this isn't mentioned. It's a very important part of starting this. It's a great way to make money, but you definitely need money before starting.
thank you for bringing this up, specially for those who are contemplating this business idea. I have watched many experienced entrepreneurs and non have mentioned this, so yeah we get the wrong idea. Imagine if I receive multiple orders and don’t have a small capital to fulfill them 😮💨 since I was under the impression that these third-party companies received automatic payment once the customer paid at checkout.
I agree with you they should be upfront and let you know that you need some capital to start. there are some people who are out of work trying to find a way to get out debt.
Hi, do you mind elaborating cuz these entrepreneurs never cover the important topics. I wonder what happens when a customer returns an item? who pays for shipping the new item back to the customer if they want a different size? what happens to the returned item…do they just store until you get a new order for that exact item? 😩😮💨
All business is basically about customers and marketing and making money and capitalism and winning and promoting it and having something someone really wants. -- Roger Ailes
Maybe this is a new thing but no UA-camr seems to mention that there is a cost. All UA-camrs making videos like this fail to mention you need to have money to at least cover your core product cost when someone makes a purchase from you. At least thats how I understood what was happening with my first sale. Now I don't blame UA-camrs, cause this is a business and you should educate yourself on the inner workings before you engage. I just found it weird no one mentions this, NO ONE! It's kinda a big deal especially when people say you dont need money. You absolutely do. You can't fulfil an order if your account is at zero. What if you're super lucky or a marketing genius and got tons of sales and your account is empty. You cant fulfil any and your shop is doomed! I Strongly encourage everyone to do you due diligence and get a clear understanding of how this works. While it is a great business to enter, if done wrong you will tank your shop before it even opens.
Thank you so much Tatiana for this informative video, I have looked at others and the host talks so fast its hard to follow but your video was just right, Thanks so much.
Wow Thank you so much for this breakdown really helpful. Wanna ask can you make a video on how to market on pinterest with printful mockups that's where I'm stuck at...don't know how to market for sales
The delays during the pandemic were too much for me and I took down my entire integration which really depressed me cause I made sales upon releasing and the products I make on printful are excellent quality. So now that everything is somewhat back to normal I'd like to revive my store again but this time around I need to figure out pricing on my products so I'm not paying too much in product costs. I got blindsided when someone bought two pairs of sweats and I didn't price my items to make a profit and the product costs killed me, love you video, still beginning at this, any advice is greatly appreciated, 🙏.
You forgot to mention: 1. creating entrepreneur's company (llc in your area), for print-on-demand business. Without it you can't sell anything (at least not in my country). That costs money. 2. paying taxes on profit (also depends on a country, in the USA it's 50%). 3. having a professional accountant.
What I don’t understand is if you have NO MONEY, how can you buy anything from Printful? The sweater example costed $38. That’s money. Plus, with things costing money, and sales not even being guaranteed, is it really worth it? It’s not that I’m trying to knock down the printing business, but it’s just what I don’t understand. I always believe that it costs money to make money. That’s just the business world in general. I don’t know why it’s said that starting a business doesn’t cost any money. Unless of course you make your own candy or cookies, then the only money you pay is for electricity to bake. I am struggling to make ends meet with my current job and had thoughts of starting some sort of printing business (tshirts, tank tops, mugs, etc) but I cannot afford to buy clothes on Printful with results not even being guaranteed. Any advice is appreciated.
I have thought to use Printful. Question is: Do I have to pay before the production of the print? This has been my whole point of not doing it, having to pay for the product before it gets started. Huge lack of understanding.
How would you make any money though because the prices of the stuff is already pricey? you would have to almost double to try and make a profit and then no one would buy it.
Love this idea. How would it work if you do not already have an existing business to add on to? How would someone discover my website! I feel this is a great idea for people with already existing businesses. Would love to see a video on how you would market this and do this sort of business without already adding it to an existing business! Keep up the great work.
I totally agree with you, I started my print on demand business but I got no traffic for my website. So I found out that I need to find a niche, build my own audience and create content for that, and now tiktok is the best way to get a quickly results
Am I missing something? Where's the no money part? Don't you still need to have your own money for Printful to access before the item is printed since it takes time before the customer's funds are accessible to you?
Would love too if u can make a video sharing about how you are giving the time between your personal life, and business life... give us some inspirations🥰
All true but it’s not this immediate. You don’t want to put useless stuff so there is the thinking part, then you have to make the mock-up, connect the colors and size to the t shirt or whatever from the website to printful or whatever, you have to create the delivery profile, make a description, use keywords, publish the product… it is not this immediate… so yes, if I take a stupid emoji and I put it on the sweater it’s 2 second to create it, but is the rest of the things to do that takes time.
Thanks for the video, very helpful! Few questions: am I able to order samples with and/or without my designs? Also, am I able to order quantities of my product to have in person to potentially sell or show my consumers?
I know that the software allows you to easily create a design and place it on the front or back of a t shirt, hoody etc. But, what about if I wanted to add secondary design elements to the sleeves or the shoulder area or other specific parts of the appearal?
@@TatianaJames Thank you for taking the time to ask me a question! I've been watching videos on Amazon shipping and trying to learn more about e commerce and drop shipping. I've been following you and your husband for some years and I was really inspired by how you and James have bought stocks over the years, so I have trying to best to learn e-commerce as well as you had a lot of success in it.
I am great at designs and unique content can think outside the box with great ideas...terrible at sales, marketing, SEO, funnels and campaigns. I have a billion dollar POD idea for someone that wants to partner. Must be motivated, great at talking to people and marketing. Use my idea, talk to clients, I'll make the designs, get feed back from clients, tweak the product and create the product. Split the profit. Or partner on designs if your passionate about creation and mentor me on the marketing and sales so I can understand and contribute in this area too. It is hard for a lot of people to understand but certain personality types have big hang ups on seemingly simple things!
Congrats Ivan! Do you mind sharing if you have to pay the pod company in advance or if they receive the money automatically once the customer pays at checkout? Also, are printing and shipping fees included in the price of the hoodie advertised for $37?
Hello. Thank you for the video. What happens if someone returns something? Does printful take care of that ? Also, is printful taking care of the customer completely as far as sending orders to the customer? So I literally don’t have to do anything except advertise ? Thanks.
Thanks!! Tatiana .I have been watching your and your husband on UA-cam for over a year and get a lot of inspiration. Anyway I wonder how can I start this business.
Hey Tatiana, Lot of blessings for you. Your videos' and inspiration is amazing. You such a very kind hearted woman. I would like to know i am in the United Arab Emirates Dubai. So here have the limited opportunity for the Ecommerce business. So how can we start selling on the print on demand.
Hey Tatiana. I am from Canada too. Would you foresee any issues doing a business like this based out of Canada? Also I recently signed up to ASM and have been trying to contact your support folks about getting bonuses, but have not been getting much back from your support team. Wondering if you can ask them to get back to me so I can check out more of you wonderful insights and try to move forward with business. Thanks you so much!
What does Printful use to put the design on the t-shirt? Do they use Heat Transfer Vinyl, Direct to Garment, Sublimation, etc? Do you have the option to have a combination of colors on the garment, if so are you charged by how many colors you add?
When you say "local fulfillment" do you mean they outsource to the closest quality local small town printing place near the customer ? Or do you mean printful has so many locations that when the order is printed for the customer it gets to them quickly due to logistics? I just want to be sure that if I use printful that I get the same quality print and fabric every time for every client.
Hi wondering if you have attempted selling on Walmart marketplace from printful ? Walmart marketplace says you have to have UPC on a product do you know how to do this thanks!
"In the Bible, angels descended to earth, drawn by the irresistible beauty of women. Among them, it's whispered, walked one who might have been your ancestor."
I get all the printful stuff except this... I really don't want to mess with e-commerce. Is there a way to just have a printful store link that I can put on my site in a button or something? I don't see that option there but it seems like it should. If not, what is the easiest, free-est, way to do this? Thank you
Hi Tatiana..its so inspiring to watch your informative videos love it. Wanted to ask do we have to get a design or a slogan registered to avoid copyright and infringement before making designs and selling?
Just be smart with your designs. You do not have to copyright or trademark anything. Now, if you decided to use the Coca-Cola logo (especially that big C - or something as known), then you WILL run into legal issues. However, if you add onto an existing design (let's say a dog image - you can use AS IS) or use an existing design outright, usually you will see a little message saying "no copyright needed" or something to that extent.
you always have good idea for us and I really appreciate your kindness. I will learn more about this opportunity and figure out how I can do it. God bless.
Do you know where to source print on demand baby clothes that integrate with shopify? I found a few items but not really good ones. Me and my wife want to start a shopify store.
Watching your videos are insanely inspiring and make my dreams feel a reality and I've started my process of beginning my business but I have a huge fear and that is how do I make sure my brand is unique from other companies!? do you have any advice for this?
Awesome video!! My only question is what happen when someone wants to return something? Does it go back to you or PRINTFUL? Who refunds them? How exactly do returns work?? Thanks in advance

Love this business model! It recently became my full time :D !!!
Great to hear! 🙌
Very informative video thank you so much Tati!
can you make more video in deep about Printful it was very short video
Anything specific Ketty that you'd want to see? This was just a basic set up.
Thank you very much for the information and opportunities
hi can you do a video on starting a 3d printing business if you know anything about that.
Has anyone that followed this video used printful?
I love your style! Could you share where you get your home decor and earrings? Thank you 🥺
Thanks, love the freedom to sell your own designs and experience grow in business. Please explain, how does Pintify work with Canva?
How do you generate traffic to your website?
By marketing in social media platforms do generate traffic to one website and if you are in need of that I can help you with it
What does Printful use to put the design on the t-shirt? Do they use Heat Transfer Vinyl, Direct to Garment, Sublimation, etc? Do you have the option to have a combination of colors on the garment, if so are you charged by how many colors you add?
Highly competitive. I’m guessing the big cost is marketing. Correct?
Thank you
hows the washability of those products? Are the prints washed away after 2 times?
if you do etsy you still have to pay to fulfillment the order before you get the money from etsy, now please correct me if i'm wrong
Thank you mate ☝🏽
Hey thank you for this information ☺️
Hi Tatiana..its so inspiring to watch your informative videos love it. Wanted to ask do we have to get a design or a slogan registered to avoid copyright and infringement before making designs and selling?
Just be smart with your designs. You do not have to copyright or trademark anything. Now, if you decided to use the Coca-Cola logo (especially that big C - or something as known), then you WILL run into legal issues. However, if you add onto an existing design (let's say a dog image - you can use AS IS) or use an existing design outright, usually you will see a little message saying "no copyright needed" or something to that extent.
1thanks so much this was so helpful i am ready to start now
Glad it was helpful!
you always have good idea for us and I really appreciate your kindness. I will learn more about this opportunity and figure out how I can do it. God bless.
Wonderful! Keep me updated on your progress and let me know what else you might want to know for future videos

Why did you close your store?
Do you know where to source print on demand baby clothes that integrate with shopify? I found a few items but not really good ones. Me and my wife want to start a shopify store.
Super great information .. thank you Tatiana 😊
You're welcome Frank
