A very well constructed video. I own a maple/spruce Saluda and it is exquisite in sound and manufacture, nothing has been left to chance. He leaves the woods, the hardware, and the player to do the talking. All the rest has been taken care of to the finest detail. And it's all here in the UK. He's a nice guy too, totally dedicated.
Thanks for the video and the access to Patrick's work. The move from a big production company to a smaller operation and his need to keep making great guitars is fascinating. The attention to detail and commitment to the craft is wonderful to see.
Just got my Faith Naked Venus today. I went to PMT in Birmingham and tried this and a few other, more expensive guitars. It's utterly stunning and sounds better then anything else I tried.
Brilliant, and amazing to see the detail, love and attention that goes into making each of the Faith guitars. Must be tremendously satisfying to create such beautiful instruments.
Thanks Patrick really appreciated the video what an insight into guitar creation.I bought the Venus blood moon from PMT Norwich and absolutely love the quality and feel of this guitar .Regards to one and all.
10 year ago after playing over 30 years, I decided to buy a decent acoustic guitar. I went to a shop with my brother and nephew (both are guitarists) and check out a large selection including Martins and Taylors. My only criteria was it had to have a great sound. After testing for about 4 hours. I decided the Faith eclipse Venus was the guitar for me. Before announcing my decision, I check out separately my brother and nephew which one they liked and they both said the Faith. I am now the proud owner of this guitar which is series 1(They are now on series 3.) , built between 2004 and 2005. The guitar still sounds great and my pride is discovering this company when it was in it’s infancy.
He makes brilliant guitars. He kind of reminds me of Nigel Tufnel in this. I’m half-expecting him to point to a guitar and tell the PMT guy he’s not allowed to touch it or even look at it.
this is likely the oswestry workshop. but yeh faiths are made in indonesia and signed off by patrick Im local but thats off the top of my head so don't quote me on it
The custom factory is in Shropshire. The mass produced guitars are made in Indonesia but I was absolutely amazed to find that every single Faith guitar comes back to the factory in Shropshire for quality control and setup. Mine was signed off by Elliot last week. You honestly dont expect that on a guitar at this price.
Just bought a Blue Moon Neptune today, and lovin' it! It's great to see the workshop where my new baby was conceived! 👍Thank you Patrick and everyone involved! 👏
I just bought a brand new natural dark gold Neptune from PMT Online in the UK. It was to be my 1st Faith guitar. Unfortunately I picked the wrong company to buy from. The definitely second hand guitar came rammed in a Fender guitar cardboard case and on opening the package the hard case was scuffed with part of the outer shell surface missing. The guitar itself had tarnished marked frets and the strings are badly corroded. I didn't have a battery to test the electronics so the quality of that is unknown. I can't as of today get a response to this from PMT Online unfortunately. Don't buy from a supplier that behaves unethically is my view. I emailed faith guitars yesterday evening to advise on the behaviour of their authorised retailer and to ask them to give their view on the behaviour of their retail partner and also to intervene if they can. I have no idea what will happen next or if Faith will reply but I gave them the opportunity. Looks like I might not be the Faith guitar owner the way things are going with PMT Online. Hope nobody else gets this issue if using this retailer.
Yes they are Sir. The best thing is that all of the models sound excellent and they will have a shape to suit for comfortability. You should try to play one if you can find them over there.
They are superb. He has stopped making acoustics now (to focus on building electrics), but they are some of the finest acoustics built in the UK, at the very least on par with Fylde, Atkin, Brook, Lowden, etc....
Not that kind of gash! Wonder what happens to the ‘gash wood’ prototype? Is it binned, or maybe finished and released under a different brand/unbranded?
Isn't wood just a fantastic material? So many varieties and applications - man I'd love to wake up in the morning and know I'm going to work if that was my job.
How cool that he's so accessible! It seems like he's really free with his time and knowledge.
Just got a Faith Venus and I’m so happy I just watched this and will cherish the British heritage of a master builder and visionary.

That was brilliant! Loved it. Yes Dagan, I was as giddy as you. I'm putting a Faith guitar on my Christmas list. Thank you Dagan.

Wow - Built in my home county as well. One day sir I will have enough dosh to purchase one of your stunning guitars.
And that, my friends, is what a Master Luthier looks and sounds like.......
PJE a nice guy, I had a set up query with a Faith guitar, and a question on my Alvarez and he made time to offer some guidance on both.
He is a great chap and a very knowledgeable builder! Thanks for commenting.
To the parents of the girl mentioned at 8:40 - it's your long lost son here.
Only 18 years old and she’s getting a custom made PJE guitar. Lucky girl!
26:23 that guitar just looks stunningly beautiful …

Oh yes you are high tech Patrick! More than most of us!
Very cool.

Luthier workshops are my new porn
Gash wood?!
Not that kind of gash! Wonder what happens to the ‘gash wood’ prototype? Is it binned, or maybe finished and released under a different brand/unbranded?
Gash ..means rubbish. It's used for testing and won't be sold.
Worked very briefly at his workshop that used to be in Birmingham, was paid minimum wage and treated like shit.
Isn't wood just a fantastic material? So many varieties and applications - man I'd love to wake up in the morning and know I'm going to work if that was my job.
