Both the top of their class, these two amazing vehicle recently arrived at Hennessey for 1000 HP upgrades and we just had to see how they'd line up next to each other during their baseline testing. Even though the ZR1 transmission is torque converted, it shifts really fast in a straight line.
Right? The GT500 dual clutch can shift faster if he manually shifts it.
@@yusufgta4341 Not really. The GM 8L90E full-throttle upshifts are just as quick as the Porsche PDK. That Tremec 7spd DCT is not quicker. Smoother? More responsive? Yes. But gear actuation is not faster.

The driver display is blue and that only shows up when the car is in eco mode
You can change the display independent of the drive mode actually. It can be linked, but it doesn't have to be.

I had a supercharged C7 Z51 A8. That 8 spd auto actually shifts faster if you let it do it instead of paddle shifting. There's a slight delay in upshifts and downshifts with the paddles on C7's

The best way to accelerate any C7 Covette while rolling is to quickly apply full throttle and release, this will enable car to gets into power band by dropping a few gears (and activating active performance shift)and then stab the throttle and see it fly.
I believe these "drivers" might benefit immensely from this rather undisputed fact. They should really go get professionals but can't knock the hussle.
This tells me the 2v pushrod GM engine will be around for a long time.

Interesting race too! Love both cars, the vette is superior on a track considerably but even in a drag scenario is barely beaten out by mustangs assuming no driver error which is rare...bc it’s a stang 😂

I’ve seen other races and knew a guy with both. He said they’re about evenly matched. I think from a slower roll though the zr1 is better

@@BEBNC1 I've driven both of them. That's why I opted for the ZR1 over the GT500. After about 30 minutes, the Mustang killed my back. I've never felt any back pain after driving the ZR1 and I've gone hours driving it (should more that those hours driving was after I bought the ZR1, not during the test drive lol).
The GT500 is a great car and I do like it, but the ride is too harsh for me. That and I can't fit into it as comfortably as the ZR1.

No surprises here, except for the 2nd race in ECO mode on the Vette. The Mustang had its sights set on Corvettes/Vipers/Porsche while Vettes are looking at Lambos

Damn Run 3!! Vette didn't even wait for the line up😆!! Nevertheless, as one the truest Stang guys on the planet😆, I've always liked Vettes, they're a different animal (not a pony car) The power to weight to grip, definitely favors the Vette! and the 93ft lbs torque advantage, absolutely helps! But I'd definitely choose the Ford GT over it (2005 or 2006 models) but it's the GT5 for me! I would definitely own them both though!

The C7 ZR1 without a doubt is the faster car, lots of low end power, light weight, lots more torque and so much more! Price range of these cars, gt500 I think is a little bit cheaper, but ZR1 is still really damn good for what it costs too.

ZR1 will forever, in my opinion, be the best version of the Corvette. Loved those and the Corvette Calloway's(Who remember those Corvettes). Also was a C5 fan but of course would unleash whatever potential it was have.

The ZR1 is impressive. But the 1/4 times 10.4 vs 10.6 isn't as impressive when you compare the weight and areodynamics. On the track who knows who would win actually both are track cars and amazing beasts from the USA 💪🏻
