Good one, Ed! I like it. Very nice. Each time I turn wood my plan always changes. I just let the wood dictate the design of the bowl. When I turn wood, it’s by the seat of my pants as the old saying goes.
Looks great, Ed. It's hard to believe this is your first try. You could call it a work of art. You could also call it a work of Ed (lol). Take care and stay safe. Bill
Hi Ed I love your excellent job.please let me know how can I find the 360 degrees round blue indexing plate which you use it for the burning line.i really appreciate it.thanks
Thank you Michael! I got it from Alisam Engineering. It's the large indexing system. You will have to chose the right one based on your lathe. Here is the link to the page where I got it from: www.alisam.com/large-indexing-systems.html. - Ed
It was a lot of trial and error using graph paper. I think I went through 4 or 5 sheets of graph paper. I'm sure that there are smarter people who a good in math that wouldn't have the same trouble that I did. ha ha. - Ed
ED...lovely basketry illusion...not only a work of art, but a tribute to our Native Americans...Lester
Thank you so much Lester! - Ed

How did you determine the spacing of the vertical lines to enable them to come out even?
It was a lot of trial and error using graph paper. I think I went through 4 or 5 sheets of graph paper. I'm sure that there are smarter people who a good in math that wouldn't have the same trouble that I did. ha ha. - Ed
