@Uberpod3 Right, because anyone was there. Honestly, I think this is one of the dinosaurs that'll be reimagined in a decade - the proportions of this thing look way off to me.
@@shmoese Yeah good point, but for hatzegopteryx, there were males that weren't so colorful and only one colorful hatzegopteryx showed up. It even fought a less colorful one.

@@jimc4839 Seems reasonable. The Quetz doesn't have to convince the T-Rex it's going to lose - it just has to convince the T-Rex winning isn't worth the injuries & attendant risk of another Rex taking advantage to bully it off its territory, or to use PM talk, the juice ain't worth the squeeze. Especially when the Rex can just come back later to chow down on all the juicy bits the quetz can't get to.
True, the T-rex could easily kill them. But it's not about whether or not he could, it's about whether or not he could without risking injury. With plenty of food for him to just come back later, there's not much reason for him to risk injury even if he would win the fight.
@@fennecishereYeah people really don’t understand that nature isn’t full of death battles, and instead it’s ussaly the more tenacious animal that wins the fight.

I mean it makes sense considering they lived with big predators like the T.Rex, if they had brighter colors than they would be easier to spot, which would be very dangerous if they were hunting in a forest or a place where takeoff would be more difficult

this is so inaccurate lol, Quetzalcoatlus would never attack a tyrannosaur. There's no way they could even inflict damage to it let alone the massive weight difference. It's more likely that they never met considering Quetzalcoatlus only become so big because they lived on small islands where no other big predators were.
Have you never seen vultures harassing predators before? They can fly and can move way quicker. If they need to get away, they can and will. The Quetzalcoatuls can harm the Tyrannosaurus. The narrator said they could peck an eye out, no ani.al would eisk that, not even the biggest land predator to ever live. Besides, the goal of the Quetzalcoatuls was to be just annoying enough to get the Tyrannosaurus to leave. The rex didn't stick around because the Quetzalcoatuls were too much trouble than they're worth, and it's not like that gigantic Alamosaurus corpse is going anywhere. There's no reason to fight over it because there's more than enough to go around.
@@jacobcox4565 a vulture would never get even remotely close to lions or hyenas lol because they know one bite would be the end. The quetzal is way to slow to have had this behaviour especially against the predator with the strongest bite force in history.
@@ovs4744 T. rex didn't have the strongest bite force ever. Quetzalcoatlus weighed 400 pounds, that's really light for an animal that tall. Flying animals have been known to attack animals way bigger than them simply because the ability to fly makes them way harder to hit. Have you also seen this footage of an eagle attacking a bear? ua-cam.com/video/ZiR71JO0QL0/v-deo.htmlsi=vlD_9JGO2cba198D. Eagles are way smaller and bears are way stronger, yet that didn't seem to stop the eagle from trying to claw out the bear's eyes. The bear also wasn't thinking "I'm stronger and can take this thing on." It was thinking "This thing can hurt me. I should leave so I don't get hurt." Dinosaurs were animals, not fictional characters. I'm sure a T. rex could kill a Quetzalcoatlus, but food was not on that rex's mind when it was being harassed by 2 giant flying reptiles that could poke out its eyes with their beaks.
@@jacobcox4565 It did compared to its weight. Trex weighed 13.000 pounds. 400 pounds is not agile meaning it didn’t have the speed to attack a much bigger animal and not be in danger of being taken out by a single bite. Less pretending to be a mindreader of animals more logical thinking bud.
@@ovs4744 The things you're typing make me think that you think of dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures as like fictional characters to compare stats with. T. rex and Quetzalcoatlus are not comic book characters, they're animals. Flying animals have been known to attack larger animals because they can fly, and most animals, especially predators, tend to avoid situations where they don't have an advantage. Also, how would you know if Quetzalcoatlus was fast enough to do this? Animals that you would think are slow can be surprisingly fast. A 400 pound animal with limbs that long and the ability to fly would most likely be faster than an animal that has shorter legs and is heavier by multiple tons.
