Great job ‼️Robinson doesn’t appreciate that as mechanics this is child’s play compared to a lot of tough jobs.

I used to IT and as soon as I saw RTC error I thought CR-2032 battery needs replaced but they RobinAir being a bit of an r-sole by selecting an odd size battery. FYI, on these batteries the first two digits refers to the diameter of the coin battery and the second two digits are the thickness. In your case with a 2016 that 20mm in diameter and *1.6mm* thick. The 2032 ones are 20mm and 3.2mm thick. CR-2025 in another one that i come across in remotes. It's annoying having to have so many different thicknesses of these coin batteries. The 2032s will last around 5 years before replacing but some I have come across were still keeping the RTC setting saved after 8 years.
You mentioned you purchased it from new so how long ago was that? Will give you an idea when you'll need to change the battery next. I would guess the battery would be good for three to five years. Bloody disgusting that you could get charged several hundred dollars to change that little battery. Probably charge you $20 or $30 for the $1.50 battery too. 🤦‍♂

It’s been about five years I would say since I got the machine so you’re spot on with that statement! The battery wasn’t too bad on pricing, I got it from my local parts venture for 10 bucks I believe.

Forgot to say if anyone else is looking at changing a coin battery, *please* get yourself a nylon or plastic spudger / stick to push the battery out. The circuit boards are extremely allergic to being scratched by sharp pointy metal things.

Yes, I would second this. It was kind of scary using my knife, but it was the only thing I had close to me.
