The South's biggest city, Atlanta is home to more than five million people who have come here from all over the world to work at places like CNN, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, The Coca-Cola Company, and The Home Depot headquarters. In fact, 12 Fortune 500 companies are headquartered here, creating incomparable internship opportunities.
Of course, people need to play, too! We do-with five pro sports teams, countless cultural festivals and museums, and a vibrant music scene that launched the careers of Usher, John Mayer, Alan Jackson, and Akon.
Come to Atlanta and see what else is new.
Totally agree with the last student. As a student from Los Angeles, I'm so amazed at how much Atlanta has. I'm still discovering new things in my 4th year!
I lived in Toronto and New York City. I live in Atlanta now. I love Atlanta. This is a juvenile, hard rocking city.
I immigrated to US and went to Connecticut, New Britain when I just came. But the town was so small I left to Atlanta. Yes the city is becautiful, huge, and the prices of homes are quite cheap. But the jobs market is really bad if you don't know anyone. But when I remember, I thought Wow after I left New Britain.
I want to be there... it is so awesome!
@GooLife21 You're completely right. I live downtown, but I don't stay here for nightlife. It's not hard to take MARTA to Midtown, and it isn't expensive to get a cab to VaHi or EAV. If people don't like Atlanta, they definitely don't know the city well enough. Atlanta doesn't give out its soul to just anyone, you have to be involved or well connected. :)
I personally loved Atlanta when I lived there. The people, the places, I loved it and I can't wait to go back! (I live in Bangalore now...)

Well, there are definitely are more counties, because I lived in Dekalb, and I know someone from Gwinnett...
But not everyone from Atlanta is like that. It depends on the people you meet, and the locality you stayed in.
And plus, a lot of people now-a-days want to be the next big thing, not only people from Atlanta...
Lol. Miami is still very popular. I don't live in Miami. But, it is very popular. It has way more than just a beach. But, everyone has opinions :) Thanks for giving me yours.

im from atlanta and ive visited new york,chicago,and los angeles...you can put atlanta inside of new york and chicgo cus they own the tallest skyscrapers and the chrysler building in new york is taller than the bank of america building in atlanta by six feet...just amagine that near the empire state building and the sears tower it puts those two to shame in hieght...but atlanta is still a big city with amazing tall ass skyscrapers

I love Atlanta but probably wouldn't live there im from the Midwest , lived in the south for a long time now im heading towards the south west area. Not into White based communities but i don't mind extreme cleanliness and structure when it comes to my neighborhood.
That's not a small city. A small city is considered to be 20,000 people.

I didn't live there. I have went there several times though to pick up my friend who lives there. It's awful.

Also, Atlanta has surprisingly little nightlife for a city of its size. If you go to downtown Atlanta after six pm, everything pretty much is closed (except if one of the pro sports teams are playing). All you'll see on the streets after 6pm are homeless people and out-of-towners walking around looking for something open because they thought "Hotlanta" had places to go and things to visit.
And is Atlanta really the South's biggest city? I thought Houston and Dallas were larger.
That is a bald face lie! There is a lot to do in the A-Town. You are just a lame out of towner hating on our city.
@BabyGirlGoddess I live in the actual city of Atlanta and I have to say BabyGirlGoddess is right in her assessment. They call Atlanta "the city too busy to hate" but there are some serious racial hangups here. For instance, the public transit here sucks because many of the surrounding counties (namely Gwinnett and Cobb) block Atlanta's transit system from going out there. Seems they want to keep a "certain element" of people out even though most of the good jobs are located out in the burbs.
Atlanta suffers from the fabulous freewheeling family phenomenon. Many of the parents in Atlanta ignore traffic laws with their children. Many of these parents are civil servants. Youth in Georgia deserve law-abiding, ethical and conscientious civil servants. Their future depends upon it. Let's double traffic fines and watch long overdue, law-abiding streets and adults appear in Atlanta!

What's up? Everyone in this video keeps going on about how vibrant and full of life the city is, yet every shot shows streets that look dead, with few people around. They use time-lapse photography to make it look busier than it is but you can clearly see every street is lifeless and deserted.
So, you've been to this huge metropolitan with 5.7 million people covering 4 counties "several" times to "pick up a friend" and from that you've concluded it's awful, colorless and boring? ha ha ...

I hate Atlanta, everything is too far away, you can't anywhere, so, you need a car just to get somewhere. The people are anti-social, not just Atlanta, but the whole state of Georgia.
