I've finally identified why there are 3 Vsauces. Vsauce is more about paradoxes and other topics relating to the human brain, society, etc. with questions that make you think and may give you an existential crisis (very common) Vsauce2 is focused on mathematics and more paradoxes than Vsauce, a majority of videos being on topics of mathematical problems, paradoxes, and games. Vsauce3 is the "What if?" of the trio, making videos about video games and questions such as "could you survive ______?" or other topics such as "Is _______ really the villain?". This trio makes it easiest to answer the most things in our world than one could do alone. I'm glad that there are 3 Vsauce channels for me to subscribe to and watch.
I live in Pasadena, Texas. 15 minutes from the refineries and 40 minutes from Downtown Houston. I do not worry about nuclear weapons because I would not live for long if we were attacked. I don't think I'd like to live to see the aftermath, everything around here's made of wood and the land is soooooo flat. It is far more likely for me to meet my end while driving on my way to or from work. I worry about tired, sleepy and/or drunk drivers. The nukes will sit on storage and rust until people realize they are a waste of money. Cut the resources toward nukes and build cars that won't start if the driver's impaired in any way. Or spend it all on staples which are actually useful.
+333midnight333 flat land is best land seeing the winds of the blast travel in all directions, its gonna be worse for anyone in a valley because those winds are gonna go on for a few miles...
Nukes in storage actually do work: they are a deterrent. If another nation decides to increase its military, they can be taken out of storage and suddenly jump up the size of your active nuclear arsenal. Which is what's preventing anyone from using their own arsenal. Don't think that just because they (thank god) aren't being used, they are not serving a useful role.

in 1991 the war between serbia and croatia broke out. (i live in croatia) and we won the war but during the war there were lots of air attacks and that sound "means" that there is no danger or it has passed
Depends on how you define change. Hundreds of years ago we where hitting each other with pointy metal sticks. Today we are blowing each other into oblivion from thousands of miles away.
Castle Bravo produced just under one third of the Tsar Bomba, the biggest nuclear device detonated, by the USSR. Which was about 50 megatons, and was planned to be 100 megatons. Castle Bravo was about 15 megatons. The more you know :D
+Pablo Schoots why? because of they wanted to measure their dicks. Where? in the islands North of the White sea, where not only does nothing live there, nothing wants to live there.
Pablo Schoots Were you expecting some "those damn soviets" answer haha. But yeah, they just tested it. Why? as Ethan said, to measure dicks, but also... why not?
+Henry Jackson Why not? Because of the potential detrimental affects to the surrounding environment, just like castle bravo^? And honestly it's pretty ridiculous, "The US has carried out 1,054 nuclear tests (by official count) between 1945 and 1992". I don't understand what they can even gain from detonating that many... seems completely pointless.
+MetalPcAngel You should consider drinking from the Holy Grail first. It would drastically improve your chances of survival. (Somewhere in a fictional nursing home, Indy is playing cribbage with Tom Hanks' character from "The Green Mile".)
If anyone is interested, the music starting at 5:25 is "Olive" by Jake Chudnow :) (I've searched for it for quite some time, tought this find may make someone's life easier)
Castle Bravo was meant to test a fusion devise using lithium 6 along with hydrogen 1 and hydrogen 3. The idea was using a light metal would make the weapon smaller and deliverable. Castle Bravo was calculated to be a five megaton yield. However, they miscalculated. They considered lithium 7 inert to the fusion process. Because of this and because it couldn't be separated from lithium 6, it was added to the device. What they thought was a five megaton device was actually a fifteen megaton device. The result was a larger explosion, and farther reaching fallout then what they prepared for. The inhabitants were considered safe enough away for five megaton weapons tests. Mike, the hydrogen device, was tested earlier at the same location. It was five megatons and the fallout was not nearly as wide spread or far reaching. Aside from the inhabitants of the nearby island, the fallout from Castle Bravo reached a Japanese fishing vessel. The Sea Dragon reported heavy white ash falling on them. The radio operator would die from radiation poisoning and the rest of the crew became sick.
Just a slight tweak - Ivy Mike, the first thermonuclear device ever detonated, was 10.4 megatons, and it wasn't detonated at the same atoll Castle Bravo was exploded at.
There's a boat in the San Francisco maritime museum and there is the boat of a Japanese immagrant who fell asleep, and woke up to a bright flash he thought was the sun
+LPchannel In other words, would that be worth it? Immortality is a double edged sword. You never die, but after you've lived a full life what is there to do? Is it really worth living?
The BBC had some balls in the 80s. in 1983, CBS made "The Day After," doing their best to theorise what the world would look like in the event of nuclear war. It scared people for its detail of some of the more extreme aspects. In 1984, the British BBC made "Threads." This made "The Day After" look like a soap opera by comparison, because the production crew consulted widely with scientists in all fields to find out the true effects of nuclear war. Throughout the movie, you see some figures, stats and facts in green "teletext" type on the screen, reciting more detail. For example: Disposal of bodies: -Wasteful use of scarce fuel resources -Wasteful use of limited human labour It did more for nuclear disarmament in one night than decades of negotiations
@@fs0xy uh after a nuke, all our resources will be gone, so if you want to get rid of the bodies, it would waste the rare resources the earth now has and since there wouldnt be a lot of humans, it would create unnecessary work for them to clean up the bodies.

Is that Castle Bravo at around 2:40?
...
You know you've watched too many nuclear test films when you start recognizing the footage XD
Oh, I guess it was Castle Bravo XD
ShumaiAxeman he said castle bravo before it was even shown.
I was paying attention to something else at the time so I didn't catch it.
I usually play youtube in the background while I'm working on gear or computer stuff.
ShumaiAxeman so then how did you see the footage without hearing it mentioned?
That camera quality though.
Which camera are you using? Anyone know?
+Selene Norwood Probably a very expensive one.
Of course it is. Still want to know though.

I've finally identified why there are 3 Vsauces.
Vsauce is more about paradoxes and other topics relating to the human brain, society, etc. with questions that make you think and may give you an existential crisis (very common)
Vsauce2 is focused on mathematics and more paradoxes than Vsauce, a majority of videos being on topics of mathematical problems, paradoxes, and games.
I live about 5 minutes from a nuclear plant 😬
+You need money Right now hey me to!
+333midnight333 flat land is best land seeing the winds of the blast travel in all directions, its gonna be worse for anyone in a valley because those winds are gonna go on for a few miles...
+333midnight333 same i live in pasadena south houston thoe
Nukes in storage actually do work: they are a deterrent. If another nation decides to increase its military, they can be taken out of storage and suddenly jump up the size of your active nuclear arsenal. Which is what's preventing anyone from using their own arsenal.
Don't think that just because they (thank god) aren't being used, they are not serving a useful role.
Nuclear winters are cold!

need to buy that jacket

Here you go, I bought it when the video was released but was disappointed since the way the video is edited makes it look so much better quality, but still, for the price i gotta say it isnt that bad :)
Champi Gnon Hey bro, I come in peace. Do u mind showing me/us a pic of u wearing the jacket in real life ?i wanna make a decision, please if u can help me out. Also, is the material comfy and how's the fitting ?
Sir Bastion hey, i'll link à photo of me wearing it in real life next week cause the jacket isnt in the house where i currently am :) gotta say it's real comfy on the inner layer, but the look of it and the feeling of the " leather " just dont quite make it... ( I can tell, cause i wear a 300€ perfecto leather jacket everyday ) , but personally i didnt really like that jacket cause it looked better in that vidéo... u'll see what i'm talking about when i get to post a link to a picture next week :)
Champi Gnon well that was 1 minute of my life wasted😒

Yes, you could survive a nuclear Fallout. Just duck and cover.

Castle Bravo produced just under one third of the Tsar Bomba, the biggest nuclear device detonated, by the USSR.
Which was about 50 megatons, and was planned to be 100 megatons. Castle Bravo was about 15 megatons.
The more you know :D
where and why did the Soviets use that bomb?
+Pablo Schoots testing 123 testing
TBH, if nuclear war WERE to happen, I would be the one to walk outside the house and accept the fate.
What a majestic way to go
I would do the same :p

There was something scary but beautiful about that explosion.
+Pavel Čačík it was just the music that gave the effect
Yeah i know lol
I hate auto correct. I meant lithium 6 no along 6.
Just a slight tweak - Ivy Mike, the first thermonuclear device ever detonated, was 10.4 megatons, and it wasn't detonated at the same atoll Castle Bravo was exploded at.
tsar bomba was bigger tho
There's a boat in the San Francisco maritime museum and there is the boat of a Japanese immagrant who fell asleep, and woke up to a bright flash he thought was the sun

Five years on, still one of the most beautiful UA-cam videos out there.
damn that ending was pretty sad man, he's just waiting for his inevitable death.....
Aren't we all
We're all gonna die some day and does it matter how.
Actually, there are people who are currently working on making biological immortality.
+LPchannel Would that really be living though? Or surviving?
For example:
Disposal of bodies:
-Wasteful use of scarce fuel resources
-Wasteful use of limited human labour
It did more for nuclear disarmament in one night than decades of negotiations
Hey mate, can you explain the Disposal of Bodies part? I just don't get it. Thanks mate.
@@fs0xy uh after a nuke, all our resources will be gone, so if you want to get rid of the bodies, it would waste the rare resources the earth now has and since there wouldnt be a lot of humans, it would create unnecessary work for them to clean up the bodies.
