Gangadhar and Tulika are a husband wife duo from Krishnanagar in West Bengal who are fast becoming one of the most popular folk acts from the region.
Tulika began singing under the tutelage of her father and later trained under the legendary Sumon Biswas. Gangadhar, though a performer and very passionate about folk music from childhood, was in search of musical direction. A chance meeting, instant chemistry, courtship and marriage, began the journey on the path they are now treading.
Gangadhar and Tulika's music is a blend of the rich traditional music of Bengal, from Baul to Kirtan and Rabindrasangeet to Shyamasangeet. Their big break came when they performed on the Bengali version of the reality show Saregama. They wowed audiences with their versatility, even singing long forgotten songs from Lalon Fakir, Hassan Raja and Abdul Karim.
