It's subjective whether it's best Ukraine can offer or not. I don't like many of their songs, they're way too "cultural". I really like 5 or 6 of their songs though.
I think DakhaBrakha is my favourite band ever, but I can’t really see them having a massive international following. Much of their music is too uncompromisingly strange for that. Plus there is the small fact that most people will only listen to music in either English or their own language. That said, I can totally see DakhaBrakha having an extremely enthusiastic albeit small international fanbase of weirdos just like me 🙂
One of DakhaBrakha`s tracks ("Шо з-под дуба" it roughly means "from under the oak") sounded in the "Fargo" TV series. It's very atmospheric, but as far as I know there is no video for it. It's a pity, but Dakha Brakha does not have a video in the classical sense, like ordinary singers and pop stars. Their most visually perfect video is "Голос води" which I already talked about (they collaborate with Onuka there).
Ok, I would try to help you) A-l'-o-na, where l' means soft L like they pronounce in French. You are right about the Glastonbury, they played at world's best festivals. Usually they tour around the world, from USA and Canada to Brazil and Australia, and their gigs are scheduled at least a year ahead.
@@UNCLEMOMO Ohhh, I've been to their concert this summer. It was awesome! They are great as it is but live it was even 100 times better. Enjoy the concert!
In the original, this is a funny folk song about a monk who indulges in all grave sins after drinking alcohol. DakhaBrakha made her serious and anxious. I recommend watching another version of the video. This is a project of animation artist Sashko Danilenko. He added drama and mysticism. The main theme was the perception of truth and lies. After all, this is a story not only about a monk, but about a man whose share of moral expectations is too high. ua-cam.com/video/ClpTureX-hU/v-deo.html
For well pronounce Alyona Alyona singer name just say english "alone" word with letter 'a' at the end. It's more correctly to understand, how pronounce it ))
Hahah , not yet thumb's up, not yet my man) Do not get me wrong, it is always a like from me on a video, BUT!! The time you actually say Alyona's name correct - it will be a fucking celebration of gratitude.
thank you for DakhaBrakha, and many many many others! if you are going to Ukraine, I advise you to plan a trip to very cool festival "FINE MISTO" "ФАЙНЕ МІСТО" !

DakhaBrakha - is the best Ukrainian scene has to offer! And probably one of the most unique bands in the world.
