Thanks for the input bro, I feel like one question that nobody really asks is the retrieve techniques when ajing fishing. When it comes to twitching, fast retrieve or just dragging across the bottom. Maybe you can make a video on this?
Thanks for this video! I'm in the west coast of USA, trying to apply these techniques for rockfish and small pelagic fish we have here. It's been difficult to learn how to fish with this light tackle and target
Hey buddy! Glad to hear that you’re trying light tackle fishing. I sure hope the tips I’ve shared help you out! I’m trying to find more time to make more engaging & informative content! Cheers 🤙🏽
@@domf83 Hi Sir, thank you! Generally aji season in SG starts around Sep until about Feb or Mar. However, it really depends as the periods the scad come in can really vary. I haven’t seen much selar or other scads appearing in Punggol Jetty. they are mostly on the East Coast to the Southern side
@@domf83 If you’re frequent angler at Punggol Jetty, you can use aji tackle to hunt some of the reef species or the assam fishes. We classify that as Light Rock Fishing :)
you definitely won’t be able to cast the same distance as when you’re casting heavier stuff. so just cast as hard as you can or as hard as you’re confident to :)

What knot you use for tying the leader to main line ….
Good Question! I like to use this knot called the “pinky” knot. It’s a really simple knot.
I’ll do a video on that and post it up ASAP!

What kind of distance am I suppose to get with lighter jighead like 0.8-1.3? Feels like I am unable to cast far with aji jighead
you definitely won’t be able to cast the same distance as when you’re casting heavier stuff. so just cast as hard as you can or as hard as you’re confident to :)
if you need numbers though, i’d assume my casting for 0.8-1.3g to be about 15-20m max?
