Yeah Le male elixir is annoyingly sweet, its so overrated. Le parfum is by far the best from that dna. I dont really care for any others. Ultra male is meh too 9pm by afnan is a better option.
Oud noir is one of my favourites. The performance puzzles me a bit though, I get very strong sillage for the first hour but it seems to die off and become a skin scent quite rapidly
Interesting. I get strong projection early but on my skin anyway it doesn't go to skin right away, however, skin chemistry is real and affects people differently.
Love love love Versace oud noir I could of sworn I saw 200 ml bottles online previously but since haven't been able to find one but if there was a bottle I'd make the silly effort of buying a "backup bottle" it would be that.
I still don't understand Oud Noir. The opening is really good, but on my skin it quickly turns into a weird spicy BO concoction that's not even that oud-y. More like, "I haven't showered in a while and just ate curry and now I'm gassy" type vibe. I'll have to keep coming back to it, maybe I'm doing it wrong. It's my only oud based fragrance that does that. And even stanky stuff like Eau d'Hermes with that strong cumin note usually works on me. It's weeeeird Anyway, great list and great video as usual!
I totally agree with you about Drakkat Noir. I had a bottle in the early 90s and got another bottle in 2021 (had a smaller bottle in-between those two) and the 2021 bottle has definitely been watered down a lot. So disappointing because the vintage version was the truth!
How about SBOY by Draco, that's super hyped recently. I rememeber they would hype Encre Noir to death in the past. I would throw Bulgari Aqua Amara. Creed Aventus, and YSL La Nuit De L'homme in there too.
I have that Versace oud flanker in my Amazon wishlist and cart! Actually, that's the case with Le Male Elixir too! I have been learning about the different connections between fragrance houses and perfumers lately. I've been really getting into the Louis Vuitton fragrances, so I've learned about Jacques Cavallier, and also Tom Ford and Francis Kurkdjian. I just learned that Francis Kurkdjian was a person; I had only heard that name in the context of MFK Baccarat Rouge 540 or Grand Soir. I was surprised to learn that he had designed the classic fragrances, JPG Le Male EDT and Ultramale! One of my favorite fragrances so far is Tom Ford Tuscan Leather. I haven't bought it, because it's so expensive, but I have Argos Bacio Immortale, which is almost identical. I love the bright, tart, vibrant raspberry opening and the leather and oud dry down are so nice. I've read that Jacques Cavallier designed Tuscan Leather too. He's not credited for it on Fragrantica, though. I've been trying to be more selective lately with my fragrance purchases. I definitely went overboard a little bit, going to rack stores and just buying the fragrances that I didn't have in my collection. I haven't even gone to the store in over a week, and I'm planning on going to the mall on Monday, and getting City of Stars from Louis Vuitton, and hopefully some good free samples, and maybe buy something at Sephora. I need to get an M Louis Vuitton fragrance, because I have an A, L, N, O, and P now lol I have my eye on Matiere Noire or Meteore, or maybe order Myriad, but I've been wanting City of Stars for like the last month. I keep trying it at the store, but buying other ones.
Oh man, you sound so much like me when I first started. Like you, I love learning about the details - perfumers and the houses etc. And I can also relate to the love of Louis Vuitton and becoming more selective with purchases over time. I bought a lot of cheap crap at the beginning that I now regret. Louis Vuitton might be the best house on earth but the prices are insane.
Good video! Glad you did this style of. Thanks.
Thanks Vance. Appreciate all of your thoughtful and positive comments. I'm glad you're here man.

quote in the background…nice touch
Thank you.
The raspberry fragrance Jeremy likes is Individuel if I recall correctly
Power!!
Agree with the end comment of jpg elixir, us older gents are sweet enough. 😊 also Hawas is my sons fav frag, lots of compliments from peers
Ha ha, yes I'm not surprised your son like Hawas. It's definitely a fragrance that appeals more to younger men alhtough I like it too.

It's brilliant. And at this stage I would NOT be surprised if it's stronger than oud wood which has been watered down.

Lol. Oud isn't for everyone. Skin chemistry may not be right. Have a great weekend man!

Amen
Is Davidoff Cool Water very popular back then?
I tried it for first time last December and love it till now 😊
It was extremely popular in the 1990s. It's VERY similar to Green Irish Tweed which is still popular though.

Yeah, I have heard a lot about SBOY and Aqua Amara is one of a handful of fragrances I really want to purchase or at least try ASAP.
