  • Planting is delayed again, this week thanks to lots of rain. The compact clay soil in our backyard can be slow to drain after heavy rains. We're looking for ideas on what to do about this issue.
    After eight years attempting to grow fruits, vegetables and herbs in containers on our balcony and in a community garden in the city, we now have a backyard with four garden beds to grow in! Each week we update with what's new, good or bad, in our urban garden.

    maybe use the low area for a pond? other than that you might have to install a draining system, I think a particular technique is called "french drains" you might look that up.

    Either start farming ducks or bring in a few truckloads of dirt, or just call it a "Swale", or go back in time and show yourselves this video so you can get another house.

    Check out well grounded gardener 's latest video titled something like healthy soil. They have water logged area. They just started a very educational how to garden series. Hope it helps
