Hes a product of New Zealand rugby ,came through the Auckland academy if you want players to play for tonga get them to fund academy's in tonga instead of being greedy frauds
Don't let Hoskins Sotutu end up in England, playing for England. It would be a huge insult to Pacific Rugby again, if another talent leaves for England who is not English. Fiji or NZ, surely?. How many Polynesian and Pacific Rim players do the English actually need before they have a good side?. It seems loads, so do not let it happen please. They really need tougher rules in place to stop this exodus of quality players to end up playing abroad for countries they to me have no link with is insulting. In this case England was mentioned. We get that Fiji and NZ could end up with Hoskins, but England, haha, very English chap isn't he Hoskins Sotutu, know what I mean, yeah?.
His mother is English therefore he has English blood and qualifies for an English passport. Doesn't matter how butthurt you are about it, you can't deny his ancestry.
I highly doubt that England would be his first choice of country to play for. He has already played for NZ at under 20 level so has already had a taste of the black jersey. All England really have to offer is the financial side which must be tempting. NZ Rugby could all always put a sabbatical clause in his contract so he could top his earnings in Japan like Beauden Barrett is going to do. I think NZ players are starting to wise up. Why would you want to slog through a 9 month season in England or France playing multiple times a week when you could make the same money in Japan and only have play half as much? It's a no brainer.
@@KaiserBlaze Yeah because he is so English aint he. Racist country, but happy to take our colored players. You are a very confused country and still maintain ignorance at the highest level. UA-cam, are you going to remove this message too, because I called an English person RACIST. Not exactly following through with their freedom of speech preaching hmmm?.
@@KaiserBlaze oh now you say ancestory matters....Only when it suits you. Island teams can't have ancestory as they are just islanders- and if they play for NZ, they've been poached. Leave the boy to make his mind up, but I doubt he feels English!
Bright future ahead for this man. Performs the core roles brilliantly and can kick, pass and run like a back. What an asset.
Nice Hoskin, your dad Waisake is one of the nicest easy going blokes I have ever met
@Jonny Blaze lol..nah..he's old man used to play for the Auckland blues..a backline number 12 (Waisake Sotutu)..
