Simple and easy. I love this. Thank you so much. I found a tooth up in my local hills here in So Cal which make it about 11 million yrs old , and am gifting it to my grandson, who is going on 6. He will love it . Thanks again.
Fun fact from a shark scientist and paleontologist for anyone who's interested: Many people will think the big tooth came from Otodus megalodon, but it's actually not! It's most likely from a shark species called Otodus angustidens! Though it is possible that it was from Otodus chubutensis, I believe it's angustidens. You can tell it's not a meg tooth from the cusp on the side by the root :)
God, that's so much easier than what I was doing! I had this.. multiple piece.. tied around itself and locked down.. way more complicated than it needed to be and I wasn't really happy with it. I'm gonna just do this, it's WAY easier.
@@fireflycarrboro I have a spool of stainless wire on the way as well as something like 2k jump rings. My meg tooth is about the same size as the one in this video, it needs a weighty persian weave chain to hang from.
I would not use the flat pliers to bend the copper wire to tighten up. It leaves a mark on the wire making it weak and could eventually break. Use round ones✌️
True, you certainly could leave a mark if you’re not careful. This is just a design element and you do have to do it gently. I have never had one break on me though, even as I wear it for years. But then again, just to reiterate to all, be gentle with the tools and of course, keep practicing until things go smoothly for you.
@@fireflycarrboro yes, I was trying some harsh bends and when I went back to make minor adjustments it broke, I noticed rounds players didn’t leave the dents as bad, seemed solve problem. Very nice and quick wrap by the way, looking forward to seeing more videos.
@@101turk Yeah, that can definitely happen. Round nose pliers are good, too, but can sometimes do a little more damage to the wire depending on what you're doing. But honestly, everyone works differently and practicing is the only way to figure out what works for you! I feel like I am still learning something new everyday :D ha! Thanks for your feedback!
Thank you SO much for this clear, concise how-to! My little nephew has a souvenir shark tooth necklace and the wire broke, so he'll be happy to be able to wear it again!
Excellent Video! I have hundreds of shark teeth and I would like to present a business opportunity to you...would you like to wrap a few dozen fossilized shark teeth for me? I have shark teeth of all different shapes and sizes, but I do not care what guage wire you use or what the wire is made of. Please let me know, thank you!
Hey MrMakoMeCrazy, thanks! I’d love to help you out with some wire wraps, shoot me an email at info@fireflycarrboro.com for more info when you get a chance.
Its seems someone earn the right to wear that 🎉😅 lets be honest better shark tooth require a dangerous downhill and jump on water with grab ,still working on both in the same time 😊Making that person earn the respect of surfers and old skaters like Jay Adams RIP.
If you have ever seen how they get these teeth, you would be ashamed. They pull sharks out of the ocean, cut their fins and teeth off and throw them back. People kill 300,000 sharks a day. And they are vital for a healthy ocean.
They're fossilized, ma'am... 🤦🏻♂️ Anyway, sharks drop and replace their teeth faster than a hound after a fox, and they go through over 1000 in a lifetime, so why would anyone need to pull them?
