15:25 I live in Atami and they have amazing fireworks displays every month and 4 in August. Next is 16th September. You should definitely visit! 🎆 the last fireworks event 20,000 people showed up, so like Emma said it gets busy!
I had a quick stop in Atami on my way to explore the Izu peninsula. The sun sets on the west coast can be spectacular, but are bested by the sun rises along the eastern coast. The Izu Panarama Park is worth the journey for some great shots of Mt. Fuji.
Love that beach in Atami. So close to the station. It's so nice to juat chill there especially at night. There would still be a few people there chilling or groups of friends playing with fireworks and having a night swim. Great vibes!
Ive been to Shirahama in wakayama and thats another famous onsen city with showa era vibes and the beach there is also amazing. Thanks for the video emma! I definitely want to visit atami!!! One of my next 2 trips to japan will check it out. Cant wait!!!
Lovely to see you again Emma 😊. You really brighten my day 🌻 I've popped this video on my Tokyo Day Trip Wishlist. This place definitely gets thumbs up 👍 from me. Thank you for such a lovely video 😊
It’s always super interesting to hear an Aussie say that Japan heat doesn’t knock around. I live in Brisbane and I agree! It’s worse than Australia for sure!
Looks like such a fun and chill place to visit! Thanks for showing it to us! Also Emma's summer hydration tip sounds super useful, especially with heat like that
When I was in Atami I had super tasty Chinese food from a place called 壹番, it was recommended by locals and a friend in Tokyo who said it's one of the best restaurants in Atami - and I agree!! 😍
Just came back from Japan a couple days ago after a three-week visit. The heat really was next level! I'd lived in Japan years ago and knew it was bad. I remember I used to take a shower at least twice a day in summer when I lived in Osaka. But when we stepped off the plane at Haneda in mid-August and that heat hit us in the face I realized I'd kinda forgotten just how intense it can be. We enjoyed several frozen treats on our visit; kakigori, several types of ice cream bars from the conbini, and I got to have my favorite flavor soft cream a couple times, kurogoma (black sesame). I looked for the suika bar (the watermelon ice bar) in several conbini but could not find it anywhere 😕. And I think we tried a nice pudding soft cream while visiting Shirakawago, but I think we neglected to try any simple, straight up puddings anywhere. So now I'm gonna have to go back.
Thanks for taking us around, Emma! And thanks for braving the heat! Don't know who the camera man was but I imagined Shah and I've only seen him with a woolly hat on and I REALLY hope that mental image was wrong this time! 😅 Anyway, Atami looks really nice!
Hey Emma. I'm a loyal viewer and when I watch a video put out by any member of Tokyo Creative I'm always reminded how much I wish America would convert to the Metric and Celsius systems. When ever I hear someone say the temp is 30 and feels like 40, and they're hot instead of cold, it totally throws me for a loop. It takes a bit before I realize what's happening.
Would be great if you added a brief voice over on how to get to the destination from Tokyo and estimated travel time. Can you get to it by train or bus or does it require a car or shinkansen?
You can get to Atami from Tokyo by local trains (around ¥1500-¥2,000), express trains, shinkansen (around ¥3500) or by car. Bus is probably the least recommended method.

I never heard about the slurping cools down food but my Japanese teacher did say Japanese cooks and chefs love when people slurp their noodles because they take it as a sign that you are enjoying their dish.
"Atami is the perfect seaside escape from Tokyo! 🌊✨ Relax in the soothing onsen, enjoy stunning ocean views, and immerse yourself in the charming vibe of this coastal town. A rejuvenating day trip you'll never forget! 🏞🛁☀" Fyi.
EMMA!!! YAY!!!!
I just love how Emma casually drops Japanese words in conversation いちご大福, シュークリーム, "a little bit of 面倒くさい" I totally get it, that's how I speak too 😛
It's great to see Emma again! can't beat a relaxing day at the beach, the water looks so beautiful! 🏖
You could always check out her twitch, patreon and discord 😂
Great to see you back on your feet.
I was feeling kind of down but Emma’s positive attitude really cheered me up. Thank you Emma ❤
Emma's excited comment about the pudding made her sound like a MasterChef lol

I love Emma’s shirt! Great video! The Japanese beach area looks so cute.
Thank you. Added to my list of days out from Tokyo in November. The foot onsen might well come in useful after walking around Tokyo for a week😋

I like it!

Loved this video. I’m coming to Japan . In mid sep So this is a great tip for a day trip from Tokyo ! Thanks so much. I’m a new subscriber. ❤
I admit, I always overlooked it in the past. I'll have to change that.

Always love finding out about these places from your channel. Is it accessible by bus or regular trains?

@@TokyoCreativePlay that Shinkansen price doesn't sound too bad! Definitely on my list for a quick getaway next time I visit Tokyo.
Onya Emma!
We went there last year. Didn’t know about the ropeway. Bummer. I went to get a $1 towel so I could soak my feet and yes they had drained the bath. 😢
Hahhahaha I love you Emma.
I was hoping to see an Olympic inspired TC video like last time.
Looking well Emma! Where is your lovely necklace chain from? ✌🏻👋🏻🙂
emma and sarah when? if possible in yamanashi or sendai please.
nice video.
oh shit , can't believe they drained the water from the ashiyu! Poor thing..can imagine how much u were looking forward to a foot soak
11:05 Also REAL Wasabi is not as harsh as the stuff you get in the tube
Do you have to slurp if the noodles are cold? 🤔🤔🤔 Isn't the whole point of slurping to cool down the food?
Just random thoughts.... 😆

Are they tattoo friendly?

That's all I needed to hear from our new robot overlord. 😊🙇♂
Now just add cycles

By the looks of it, if you're not careful, the food there will give a carbohydrate overload.
