- Atami is a onsen resort located in Shizuoka Prefecture. Easy access from Tokyo. This town is located by the ocean so the fish is very special. I walked all around Atami town and eat delicious foods.

What a lovely, informative walk, Satoshi! Along with the natural beauty there were soooooo many stairs!😅 You really got a good workout. 😊🦵 I can see why you enjoyed Kinomiya Shrine so much. It was a nice mixture of traditional architecture and practices with several modern touches. The food you chose looked nourising, fresh, and tasty. Thank you for taking us along. That tree was incredible. I just love how the Japanese have such love and respect for nature and has preserved this beautiful ancient tree. The stories this trees could tell if it could talk.
And I have 3 steps up to my apartment and that's 3 too many. So I salute you sir on that trek up and down those stairs. Something tells me Shinichi wouldn't have cared for all those stairs. 😆

Thank you Satoshi for sharing your walk and food adventure. It really helped me you kept me company while I was in the hospital. Your trip and travels are always so nice towatch. I've always wanted to visit Japan. When I joined the Army I asked for duty assignment to Japan or Korea. I did get to go to Honolulu for advanced training at Trippler Medical care hospital. My first assignment was 97th General Hospital in Frankfurt I went to high school as an Army brat my Dad. Sorry so long. Thank you again for taking the time and effort of your adventures. Really nice walking stairs (🤭) tour
Satoshi-san, thank you for sharing your walk with us, but did you realize that walking down hill is harder on your knees than walking up?!? Perhaps you may want to get a simple elastic 'brace' to wrap around just under the kneecap area. Years ago, I b-r-o-k-e my knee cap & part of my recovery was to lay a thin towel down, then a frozen gel pack for 20 min (timed!). This greatly helped me.
