Levene's guitar on P.I.L's first two albums was a major influence on almost ALL the underground/independent New Wave and Post Punk scene of the 1980s, enough said, right? For those who talk bullshit about Keith, one question: What have you guys done in music?????? I guess NOTHING. Thanks for the upload.
Keith is a fantastic musician, and an elegant, stylish, smart, sensitive...smashing bloke! Great hearing him discuss the origins of The Clash, and his early friendship with Mick Jones. His vivid descriptions really bring it to life.
@@markuswilliams3190That's a totally rude and ignorant remark. I don't know you.....and I'm so very happy about that. I'll put it on my gratitude list for today - "don't know Markus, never plan to meet him or make his acquaintance - saved myself much annoyance and displeasure! Hooray! Hooray!!"
Funny watching this now, Steve Howe and Keith Levene are my 2 favourite guitarists and they used to know each other yet they're both insanely different guitarists
Rip kieth always love you and your talent was ahead of your time and always your mate and please say hello to Joe and the boys sleep tight sweet prince
Why are you attacking Tony? Do you know how many broadcasters stepped forward to help publicize the Commercial Zone 2014 indiegogo compaign when money was needed to back the project and keep Keith from being embarrassed with a failed crowdfunding?. Zero. Tony was there before there was a CZ2014, and he supported Keith every step of the way. #CZ2014
Agreed, he is a total cock, self absorbed, rude (won't even look at Keith) and hasn't bothered to do proper research - has clearly read the Wiki page and thats it. Remarkable how somebody with zero talent can try to lord it over one of the best musicians/songwriters living today.
Thanks. I did talk over Keef quite a bit in the opening part of this show guilty as charged..., coz it was a 'show', a 90 minute radio show, an exercise in entertainment, not just an interview, and if your guest is being taciturn and non forthcoming you're thinking "Fill the fucking void"...even if it is with inane twaddle. And all this happening in a studio where the producer has to play the records but keeps fucking it up and you can't control the music to cover the errors, quite stressful, especially with Keith off his nut alongside you and not sticking to 'the script' (there was no actual script)... Moreover though, although we sadly fell.out, I was Keith's friend at this point and we were chatting as mates, warts n all. Equals. And it was my show, so if that makes me a cock, cool. And I do love myself for sure. Also, no other c*nt was supporting him at this point either. He'd scared everyone off one way or another. Listening back after nearly 10 years, yes, the opening is a bit painful, but I'm happy with most of the 90 minutes personally, available on Mixcloud with 3 other Keith interviews. You're gonna really hate those too haha. RIP Keef.
What ever happened to ...the Rhythm-it's.. Anyone? I got 1 of their records, remember Angus . Anyone who dislikes the clash, likes Billy Cobham is ok to me

well, at least we didn't go on being sexually active after we found out we were HIV positive (with a long time partner no less).
Not just PiLs first 2 albums but basically all music on Flowers Of Romance and Commercial Zone
Without Keith Levine's creative guitar work, what would the Edge sound like today ?

2 mins in and the interviewer can hardly stop talking and interrupting.
The interviewer is so fuckin in love with himself that he forgot theres another person in the room and he ended interviewing himself WTF !

Interviewer is insufferable. Didn't engage Keith one bit.
seemed like he was going through the motions
Great interview in spite of the interviewer!

That interviewer talks too much and too much of it is about himself.
Interviewer: "My favourite song on the first album is 'What's my name'". Yeah... right.
1. Please correct the spelling of Keith’s last name. 2. Why can’t the interviewer just sit back and let Keith speak?
Thank you for pointing that out. The interview person is, however, nothing to do with us
Let Keith speake,stop interrupting.
