I'm definitely blessed to have some great places to detect. Now that we've got some rain it's like a whole new world now that I can dig lol. Thanks for stopping by brother happy hunting!
@@chrisharvey46 you're right I do love my tot lots, but I do also love the fields. Been so dry here this year this was the first time I could actually dig a plug lol. Definitely enjoyed it. Plan on doing more dirt hunting soon.
I got a permissions today at my ex's (still friends) step moms house, going to ask where she thinks i should look, its 40 acres, but if she dosnt have any idea ill search by a little party cabin they built maybe 20 or 25 years ago, see if any partiers dropped anything, the only down side is we got rain in the weather app, looks like ill be digging in 1.5mm rain, put the door on my go pro and using the legend since its water proof
@15:00 Carrying a shovel around a park or school might get you worse than kicked out if you get confronted by a cop or park ranger. Never ever carry a shovel if you're detecting a park or school. I suggest carrying an old fashion brass coin probe as your primary tool, with a trowel as a back up for deeper or larger targets tucked away in your bag. ua-cam.com/video/pTdD0Gdrmx4/v-deo.html
True it's very important to know and understand the rules of the places you detect. In my county all schools are considered closed campus and there is absolutely no access. Now the next county over school tot lots are considered city parks when school is not in session. Most of the parks I detect actually allow a small shovel. I've been detecting some of these parks for 10 years. I pretty much know the park crew and park cops and they are all really cool. Sometimes they stop me and tell me about big events they've had at the park and places I might want to hunt. Now I have some parks I detect about an hour north of here and they do not allow shovels. I just prefer when allowed to carry my shovel even if I'm not using it. I have a few bad vertebras in my lower back and it balances out the detector and I use it to help get back up lol. Sometimes on the 4th or 5th park of the day I use it more as a getter up stick than I do as a shovel 🤣
Great video thanks for sharing. Your experience at detecting shined through… super clean plugs and always right on the target… as opposed to me… my plugs look like botched surgery and I often miss on the first try. Can you explain what ‘Recovery speed’ is? My machine doesn’t have that as an option (Garrett AT Pro).
Thanks I take a lot of pride in my plugs 😁. Recovery speed is a great tool. Faster your recovery speed the faster your machine can identify different targets. I have also noticed it's easier to tell the size of a target with a higher recovery speed. Now a slower recovery speed will punch a little deeper. A slower recovery speed is also good for an area with very few targets. It will make targets sound off bigger. Now on a tot lot the higher your recovery speed will allow you to get closer to the metal equipment.
Okay. Thank you for the information. Being near Chicago, our detecting season is almost over, but something to remember if I get a new detector in the off-season.
@@DiggingTimesPastif you get a machine with recover speed I recommend sticking with a certain level, instead of changing it all the time, like Texan said targets will seem bigger or smaller depending on RS so it's nice to get used to a certain speed, on the other hand I do recommend turning it up for totlots so you can get as close to the big iron as you can, just personal preference but I use recovery speed 6 on the legend when I'm hunting fields, and crank it to max in tot lots
@@billgreen7148 thanks. The triple score is a great detector I love mine. Unfortunately the shovel I use is an old white's shovel and unfortunately they are no longer in business. I think if you check serious detecting they have one built on that old blueprint. I think theirs is called a red devil or something like that. Thanks for watching and happy hunting!
Enjoyed the hunt. Man so much more ground to be uncovered. You are surrounded with some big parks and ballfields.. Happy Hunting. Peace

Happy hunting from Nebraska
How's the weather today in Nebraska? Thanks for watching and happy hunting!
@44:30 You'd have a White's Eagle to play with. 😃
True I did love my White's machines. Would be a lot more coins and silver to find back then too lol
Nice hunt again 👌
Thanks for watching
Great hunt. Cool finds too. Interested in the finds bag you're using. Compact and useful.
Thanks. I have my finds bag linked in the description. It's off Amazon and pretty cheap. I love them. Been using them for years.
@@TheTexanDetector I should have looked there first. Thanks Brother!
Thanks for the video bud
