Aw sweetie. She can definitely sing. She doesn't exactly sing perfectly in Ladies either, but pay close attention to her in "Company" (the opening song). She chose to do this song in a detached, emotionless, cynical way, to match the tone of the song. It takes extra talent to sing this way when in actuality she can sing quite beautifully.
They all do. It's the direction given by the director.
I don't know why, but I would love to see this become a film. Whoever was cast as Joanne would most certainly win accolades. She has THE BEST lines
This song has all the best lines, oh lord.
great musical! And I can relate to it somehow
@lf1234 Definitely. Her name is Barbara Walsh, by the way. She's bloody fantastic!
It’s Trina!
@Cenwyc she can sing, listen to her ladies who lunch, she can sing.
@chickenlil3 Omg I got that too! I thought she actually looks like her. :P
Gee...how do you REALLY feel about them? : )
I think Joann's trying to tell us that Harry's a crossdresser.
Good news after ten years together they are divorcing!! There is a god after all, since separating from the asshole my sister seems less evil than usual. I'm still on my guard.
Woops! Yeah, I can't keep any of their names straight, to be honest, except Bobby and the girlfriends.
Great lyrics, great actress, but I think it's a much better song with someone who can also sing.
She's playing a character who is incredibly apathetic about her marriage and she's expressing that in her performance. It's an acting choice.
sing ho
she can, literally listen to her in ladies and company
