The Natl Geographic special on this is very compelling and interesting. It mentions the photographer, which I think should be researched more to authenticate this. I’d be very interested in who was doing photography in that area at the time and if this would help other alleged photos (some also very compelling) of him.

Just wanted to add that the photo above is that of Billy the Kid, however, its not however a picture of John Tunstall's home. Its a picture of a school house located in Lincoln County, New Mexico. I know the family that owns the property where this was taken.
