The 212th under Obi-Wan tend to vary between calm, by the books (even if it's only so they can find the better loopholes) and snarky as fuck. While the 501st under Anakin were generally just fucking insane XD
Hey it's not insane. It's called thinking so far outside the box that the box has ceased to exist as a concept. And at the very least you can't say the 501st weren't creative and efficient in executing their ideas, which often worked way better than anyone anticipated.
I love that Yularen had a problem with that, but not Anakin posting AT-TEs on asteroids on the thought that maybe Grievous would just go straight through the asteroid field and open their flanks to the hidden walkers.
I remember this episode. CONTEXT. 3 ATTE walkers are positioned on and hidden within the surrounding asteroid belt before the Venator enters combat once more and draws enemy forces into position. The republic Venator is visibly outgunned and has spend nearly all of it's available fighters. Venators, while classified as destroyers, are really just flashy carriers with some firepower. Without any fighters left to throw at the enemy. In the eyes of the separatists. It looks like an easy final fight to finish the battle off. But as the separatist warship passes by the unimportant rocks. Well, you probably guessed. 3 walkers reveal themselves and begin firing upon the lesser shielded rear with their top mounted main caliber artillery. This maneuver would ultimately allow them to win even while starved of their primary weapon. Edit... WRONG EPISODE. My bad. This is the one where they drop an armored assault force onto the hull of a seperatist cruiser. Turning it's armor belt into it's own battle field. Which is even more insane.
Admiral Yularen really is great at his job, because not only he supports the Republic during the clone wars, and has a special affection for Anakin and Ahsoka, but he also sums everything up before it starts.
Anakin and the 501st enjoyed using things the way they weren't meant to be. Such as those walkers being used to flank a separatist fleet in an asteroid belt.

Anakin: Suggests something absolutely insane
Rex and the 501st: That's a bad idea...let's do it!
Im convinced rex lives for anikin's plans, he loves how batshit insane skywalkers are
At least Yularen showed concern for their lives
Or at least, Republic material.
@mill2712 True, but still better than being asked to risk your one and only life for something with sketchy results.
@@thenovicewhispers
True true.
And to be honest, he probably did care about their lived too.
He never cared, he did go Imperial after all.
@rh906 so did Anakin
I believe a quote from Apollo 13 fits here. "I don't care about what it was DESIGNED to do. I care about what it CAN do."
When rex Relized anakin was a genius,
Love how you can tell this is near the start cause they question him especially rex when now they all have a very close bond
I loved seeing early season clone helmets. Alot better than the newer ones
Yeah the mark 2 helmets looked so much worse.
Yularen: They’re for terrain!
Anakin: Space is a terrain
(Years later in an imperial bar on Coruscant.)
Colonel Yularen: Admiral Thrawn, Commander Faro, Commander Vanto. I'm telling you, the things I saw during my time in the clone wars were completely unbelievable. You'd never believe it. I kind of miss those times honestly. (Takes sip of drink.)
Situations like this make me think how much more fitted for leading a army than to meditate like a Jedi Anakin is. He was a warrior to the core and it shows
The fact that Admiral Yularen is the voice of the narrator is crazy
Yularan: “Those were made for terrain not space” Anakin: “Hold my beer”
More like "hold me blue milk"
literally WWII british military vs WWII german military "hey, you can't use those AA guns versus tanks, that's against the rulesbook"
I’m pretty sure that it was the other war around 90% of the time.
@Ma_Zhongying Yeah.... Brits did the whacky crap. Bouncing bombs, bombs so big bombers had to fly with no bomb bay doors, swimming tanks, ramming destroyers full of explosives into docks, etc etc
@@Ma_Zhongying worked both ways, usually by field commander having to improvise for a situation at hand, like the flak 88. But both sides had their doctrine first commanders as well.
Nah; the British won 😂
You have to admit that Anakin was very smart in using something clearly for ground engagements for space battle
Someone needs to inform him that space IS a tarrain
At the end of the day Rex was a clone, but deep down he was as real as any man.
And that man wanted to try shit with a piece of equipment was never built for
This is why Anakin is the G.O.A.T
I love seeing moments like this. Before Vader he was already thinking like a master tactician.
Just realized they used the wrong designation those are AT-TE’s not AT-AT’s also they have mass driver cannons which are powerful enough to be considered capital grade artillery as in main armament on a warship but they’re less ammo efficient than large Turbo lasers
Rex says AT-AT 300 and walker 773 so he's referring to the code names
@@CombineAlpha It's still an error. The numbers Rex is referring to would be their hull numbers. So it should still be AT-TE 300 and walker (AT-TE) 773.
Yawn
It's funny how at the end you can see the look of "I shouldn't have fucking offered my services" in the Admirals face 😂🤣
Rex loyal to the bone
@@Coulter204 kinda has to if he wants to keep the rank of general in the best legion of the Galactic Republic
@@DrhoggleYeah but Rex fr loyal and Anakin treats him as a brother. He’s protected him so many times. Even when his order 66 chip activated he was still able to hold it off for 5-7 seconds to warn Ashoka to look for Fives and to find Fives which is what gave her the hint to realize it’s their inhibitor chip. Every other clone was already guns blazing but he was the only one who managed to hold it off for enough to give her a clue and leave the rest to her
@@xXtuscanator22Xx yea Rex and Cody are treated with more respect because of there rank but also most the clones are seen as brothers because they are technically people fighting for their life in war that was both deadly and expensive so all them had a spot in the Jedis heart
@@xXtuscanator22Xx and no Rex was one of the only few people who was both mentally and physically strong enough to resist the inhibitor chip he acted like that only so he wouldn't get killed or arrested for treason because everything to the galactic empire is treason🙄
@@Drhoggleanakin was general, rex was only a captain
I am eternally entertained by the star wars writers knowing military terminology but having no idea what it means.
I still love the series, they old like fine wine
The clones really did vibe with such an insane strategy, guess it is the Mandolorian genes
Ironically enough both General and Admiral served the Empire....
I love how as soon as Anakin mentions the idea his whole command staff are like “heck yeah! We’re doing it!” and the admiral for some reason can’t counter command his orders.
Rex was 100% a giddy little kid on the inside firing those things up. The SECOND Anakin looked at the walkers, he’s in his head just screaming in joy.
It’s crazy how good the animation got for this show
If you read the new Vader comics, Anakin still pulls this kind of crazy shit and everyone is flabbergasted that he is alive and that much more willing to kill you for the inconvenience of having to repair his suit again.
It's funny when you watch the Clones and notice how the older ones start to take after their Generals, like kids emulating their parents.
The 212th under Obi-Wan tend to vary between calm, by the books (even if it's only so they can find the better loopholes) and snarky as fuck. While the 501st under Anakin were generally just fucking insane XD
That or they just put them with their Jedi because they would mesh better
Hey it's not insane. It's called thinking so far outside the box that the box has ceased to exist as a concept. And at the very least you can't say the 501st weren't creative and efficient in executing their ideas, which often worked way better than anyone anticipated.
I love that Yularen had a problem with that, but not Anakin posting AT-TEs on asteroids on the thought that maybe Grievous would just go straight through the asteroid field and open their flanks to the hidden walkers.
It's only stupid if it doesn't work.
But if it works then it just might be stupidly brilliant
“Those walkers were designed for terrain.”
Well they were also designed to carry troops.
Anakin was basically a drama queen combined with the power of anime.
Yularen: you can’t do that!
Anakin and co: so we’re gonna do the thing Yularen says we can’t do.
Anakin always has to find a way to be a genius. Even I’d have to admit, the Walkers were a good idea.
Where can I watch this? And which series is this?
It is the clone wars I don't remember which season it is though. But Clone Wars was good 9/10 would watch it again
What episode
Dude was such a goat narrating every episode intro
This version of Anakin is basically the equivalent of hold my beer
Admiral Yularen really is great at his job, because not only he supports the Republic during the clone wars, and has a special affection for Anakin and Ahsoka, but he also sums everything up before it starts.
Anakin and the 501st enjoyed using things the way they weren't meant to be. Such as those walkers being used to flank a separatist fleet in an asteroid belt.
You know this music is misplaced, this is what they're blasting as they're flying down to the planet
Anakin really put all terrain to the test a few times with those walkers lmao
Wait wait wait… is the admiral the voice of the beginning of episode recaps that we got in clone wars? It sounds just like him. That’s so cool if so.😅
There’s a difference between what equipment was designed to do and what it _can_ do. Sometimes, you get the far end of the bell curve instead of the near end.
I was expecting ahsoka to say master your an evil genius
even the narrator showed up for the plan
This clip does show how our Admiral is Incapable of thinking outside the box!!! 🤠👍
501St should be Named into Skywalker's Marines
"Vader's Fist" wants to have a word with you.
Rex was waiting for an excuse to put them in space
"George... why is the child in a tube top?"
Rex was doing it for the EXPERIENCE
You know, the quality of the animation really stepped up in later seasons, you can tell in the head movements but even at its worst, this show STILL locked amazing
Today in clone wars: anakin once again is planning to do something stupidly dangerous and dangerously stupid
No wonder this guy's hair sent gray so quickly
Never seen clone wars, but I’m guessing the plan worked so good that the admiral couldn’t be mad at Anakin even if he wanted to, especially when he really wanted to be mad
Yeah, most of Skywalker's plans were insane and could easily be seen as suicidal, but damn were they good at getting the job done in just about the flashiest way possible.
Sometimes it takes Insanity to be creative enough to solve problems with unorthodox methods.
I love how Anakin is the master of trolling and also the master of plans XD
Anakin lives by the statement it’s never a war crime the first time.
I love how excited Rex is.
"General Skywalker, you can't just blow a hole in the surface of mars"
Rex knowing whats about to happen: *Happy clone noises*
Rex and the rest of the 501st followed all of anakins crazy plans cuz they knew anakin would be on the front line with them too
"Space is also a terrain, Admiral"
“Of all the Jedi, why did I had to be put with skywalker.”
"Those walkers are designed for terrain." Space is a terrain
"it says all terrain on the vehicle admiral. so im going to use all the terrain we've got available here in space."
AT-AT 300 was the callsign for that particular AT-TE
All terrain means ANYWHERE, sir
Look he saved that go so often he stuck around even when Skywalker became Vader.
All terrain means all terrain - Skywalker
If it looks stupid and it works. Then it’s not stupid.
I love how he says AT-AT instead of AT-TE
Little nod to what the walkers would eventually be replaced with
