Remember when Burt talked about how O&D thought MDR had a larval stage that would jump out of a pouch and attack? That's why Mammalian's Nurturable want to see if they have pouches. Also, I'm wondering if the crashed car in the lake during the intro is Cobelvig's little white car....?
Ahhh yes, I forgot about that but makes sense. Burt 😂 could be ! I was thinking maybe Gemma’s but if that “burned body” Mark talked about holds any truth to what happened then you might be onto something
5:13 have you seen “Get Out”? Natalie had the “Get Out” eyes there - I found she was doing so much in that moment being like, yeah I’m realizing this is fucked up as a fellow Black employee here but Lumon is always watching/listening so I can’t be too obvious about it
I haven’t seen that, maybe a great movie reaction. But I’ve been so convinced shes without agency in the show but watching that scene back I definitely see it
Random: - "Why don't we reset" ..I watched this episode 3 times in two days and I did not pick that up. That just sent shivers through my spine. - I spent a little time, as a kid, on a farm. I don't know a lot, but "husbandry tank" instead of husbandry pen stood out. A husbandry tank is for amphibious creatures. A pen is for mammalians, like goats. I'm just a shambolic rube though, it's possible I'm reading too much into it. - Helena Egan is just living her best life. By day she gets to cosplay as Helly R, experiencing the rush of adventure and personal connections she does not know as an Outie. By night she's a stone cold ice queen that can instill fear into someone like Harmony Cobel. With a dope car. - We still haven't seen "Helly R" this season. I'm dying on that gattle hill until the show proves otherwise. - For the love of Kier, do NOT try to burn images into your retinas. You will go blind. - Gretchen is totally down for a throuple. - PETEY! LFG!!
Haha imma try and hit these bullets: - yea ikr that shit is spooky - ah cool, I thought those words were just made up so nice to know they’re real lol - I miss Helly hope we see her soon (dying on that gattle hill as well😂) - will not try at home - she’s gonna love that innie more! - didn’t realize that was his voice there at the end, hope we get a little more of a glimpse next week Thanks for watching haha I appreciate the comment
the comment about the 'sense of emptiness'/corporate emptiness behind natalies eyes is crazy, her eyes said SO much about how fucking crazy the recanonalized paintings were. Its so clear how much she desperately wanted to vocalize that to Milkshake, except Lumon is *always* watching. Incredible scene that both actors acted the *hell* out of with expressions and body language alone. Perhaps its something you might not have picked up on as you aren't POC and probably don't have to deal with micro- and macro-aggressions in your daily lives...
Maybe, all of season 1 since Natalie was working high up for Lumon as a non-severed person I assumed she was on board with all the craziness. Watching back the scene tho you’re right, I was just thinking in Seth’s head not hers so I’m really curious what they’ll do with her character moving forward
So true! I feel FEEL that interaction! It's CHILLING! Up at one the best episode scenes of television I've ever seen and not heard 😫. Reminded me of that seen from P-Valley with Keyshawn and Woddy in the hotel when "talking" about Lil Murda and Big Teak through their eyes 🤣. LOL, yeah, but it is one of those things that you have to experience to understand. It's not anyone's fault. I don't feel any sort of way for reactors not picking up on it. It's not a bad thing that they don't. It's not possible. I appreciate their reactions even still ☺.
Edit: Holy shit, sorry for the wall of text 😂 I got carried away theorising Great reaction again guys, I got teary-eyes at Mark’s saying “I wanna see my wife” too. Adam Scott’s acting gets me in the feels. 2:44 I get what you and EJ mean. The brain is not the only mechanism that regulate our feelings, there are also hormones, and especially stress hormones like adrenaline, cortisol are produced somewhere close to the kidneys. Even though the brain doesn’t know what happened on the other side of the threshold, you can’t stop the body from feeling hormones. This harkens back to what Petey said in Season 1 about “you carry that hurt with you down there, you just don’t know what it is”. 4:34 Tin foil hat theory: Kier Eagan did not canonically exist, the history about him is just a myth. The MDR Team is actually building a personage fitting the narrative Lumon created about Kier Eagan, and when the project is complete, they will implant this chip to literally anybody’s head and snuff out that victim’s original personage and take over to be the Kier Eagan IRL. That’s why he could be everyone. Maybe Natalie knew about this, that’s why she referred to the board as it. I feel like Natalie is too deep in Lumon’s pocket to get out, and she’s subtly warning Milkshake not to misspeak when the board is listening. 12:13 I get the impression that the goat department is called “Mammalians Nurturable”. The “pouch” reference is a callback to what Burt told Dylan and Irving when Dylan locked Burt in the conference room and accused him of lying about the size of O&D. Burt said their department believes that all MDR people carry around larvae in their pouches and the larvae can spring out and attack people, and eventually consume their hosts and replace them. Seems like this rumour has found its way to Mammalians Nurturable as well. I think the employees at this goat department are homeless outside of Lumon. Ms. Casey said to one of them that he “excels at stargazing” and that seems to imply that he doesn’t have a roof over his head. The homeless people are actively being experimented on by Lumon in exchange for sustenance. Having a marginalised social status makes them high risk group to fall prey to Lumon’s exploitation, since no one would care if they go missing, they would work long stretches of time. I can even imagine Lumon saying “come work for us and we will provide you drugs for your addiction” or something like that. This also explains why some of them look so dishevelled and in rough shape. About Dylan’s wife: I feel like she preferred the innie Dylan to outie Dylan because innie Dylan is a star employee and not a fuck up. I feel like at some point there will be a conflict between innie and outie Dylan because of his wife wants the innie version to exist outside of Lumon too, in other words, full time innie that get to live outside. One theory is that permanent innies are what Cobel and Milchick are. That’s why Cobel was so spooked by Helena’s “reset” and why Milchick looks offended by the paintings but have no choice but to accept. Because even though they got the ultimate prize to live in the outside world as innies, one switch and they can go back to zero. And did you guys pick up the the part about the patterns of the salt grains while Reghabi was reintegrating Mark? It looks almost the same as the pattern on the computer display screen where we temporarily saw Ms. Casey in episode 1. These patterns are called cymatics and are closely related to vibrations and frequencies. This ties in with the five brain frequencies that Reghabi told Mark. And coincidentally, the screen display where we saw Ms. Casey also had 5 buckets with progress bars. The patterns might signify the brain wave pattern of a specific personage. It’s ironic comparing Ricken’s stance on severance throughout season 1 to his attitude now towards the possible idea of his book co-opted by Lumon. He is so blinded by the fake compliments from Natalie and the possible profits that he welcomed this idea so quickly. I feel like we will gradually lose Ricken to the dark side (and possibly along with Dylan’s wife due to her selfish reasons to keep innie Dylan around her), meanwhile Cobel and Milchick might slowly realise how poorly they are being treated by Lumon and join the anti-Lumon alliance.
And to clear up your question about husbandry, according to Wiktionary, animal husbandry means “the management and care of farm animals by humans for profit, in which genetic qualities and behaviour, considered to be advantageous to humans, are further developed”. So basically the breeding and cultivating goats and has the same connotations of “refinement”
All good I love the theories! I would not be surprised if that dude did not exist at all at this point. I forgot about the pouch lies haha thank you! If they were actually homeless people that would be insane. ooo the idea of permanent innies is very intriguing. I feel like she will fall for the innie as well. I did not pick up the pattern but you are so right I think, would make sense I suppose! yea Ricken is an interesting one for me, gonna be keeping a close eye on him this season. He's got a goat bust in his house!
1. The goat scene genuinely frightened me. 😂 When ‘Brienne’ rang that cow bell and summoned the crew… 🫣😱 2. Anyone else notice how similar the Cobel/Helly scene, is to the Karen/Jimmy scene in Goodfellas? Both are so well done, but this one gave me chills. They were going to make Cobel into Gemma2.0. 😅 3. *_Remedium Hominibus_* is on all of the license plates. It translated to “a cure, for mankind.” I think Cobel’s mom was a devout Kier-tian, and raised her to be the same. We know she attended that Kier school for girls, and even had a little shrine to Kier. My theory is that Cobel’s mom, on her deathbed, made Cobel promise to dedicate her life to working to bring about Kier’s “cure” and the breathing tube is a personal reminder for a reminder to stay the course. 4. Reghabi jump-scare got me, too. 😂 5. Innie Mark finding out about Petey is going to break my heart. 🥺😭
1. Yea it was reeeaaaalllyyy off-putting haha 2. I’ve never seen Goodfellas (sorry haha) 3. Woah cool, I need to see what kind of sovereign Kier society they’re all living in lmao 4. Where did she come from?! 😂 5. I didn’t even think ab that oh lord
As mentioned above, the pouch thing was based on rumors mentioned in season one where Dylan was afraid of O & D and Burt admitted that his branch thought MDR had pouches with larva.
the editing on that final sequence is so 😙👌🏼 also ricken’s book The You You Are is now available for free on Apple Books (and an audiobook narrated by his actor!) and it has some little bits about mark and gemma, it’s great imagining how the innies might have felt reading it
I don’t think it was the guy that spooked Cobel because he was there the entire time. I think it was just the entire vibe of what was happening in the moment.
I'm hoping one day we get a goat severance scene, with a goat coming down a miniature elevator and into a miniature hallway, with the full zoom dolly effect, and then the camera spinning around like Marks' first scene of season 2 as the goat legs it down the hallway 🤣🤣 Maybe someone can work some AI wizardry to do that.
10:57 You're the first reactor I've seen pick that out 💯! I don't know what it is. I actually never even noticed it, until now, when you zoomed in on it?! Now, I have heard that they have done ADR after the show was aired. For instance, there is a scene in the first season, at the convenience store, while Petey is being hauled out by cops: The cop is heard saying (before Petey falls) that Petey has fallen. So. ..in the aired version, the timing was too early. They "fixed" it and aired it again with it on the "right timing". TBH, I really do have a big issue about streaming videos being altered digitally after the original has already been aired. They should, I think, keep in the mistake and not change it. Or, at the very least, keep the version(s) available to see on the streaming service or have some type of *note available to read that something has been changed. Since from now on, people are looking at and essentially referencing a entirely different show now. Our perspectives are different - no matter how tiny, but. ..I digress 😒. It could be an editing issue like you mention: It could be a boom mic. How to take that. .. I don't know 😭!? For a show to be this good, shouldn't having editing issues be a problem? If it is in-show, then what does it actually mean? If it is an editing "problem", are the writers, creator, and director so CLEVER as to put it in intentionally. ..just like the one from season one? Because, ironically, the episode with the line spoken "audio issue" was also episode three. ..just like this one 🤷🏿♂? I'd be okay with the last two, because at least they are intentional 😂! P.S.: The "pouchless" is in reference to season one, Burt's story: MDR has pouches, like to carry young?, that eventually grows, eats you, and takes over your body. ..which would answer the question, to Irv's youthfullness? 😅
yea i was like wtf hahahaha who knows! In a show like this keep it in there even if it is a mistake just to throw people off lol I do think such a detail oriented show wouldn't have a mistake like that but hey it happens! I have been reminded of the pouch talk in season 1 haha thanks!
Most shows: **slow burn, slowly burning**
Severance: **pours gasoline on viewer, lights match**
😂😂understatement!

@@ItzWilson2 You're so very welcome, my friend. 🌻
As mentioned above, the pouch thing was based on rumors mentioned in season one where Dylan was afraid of O & D and Burt admitted that his branch thought MDR had pouches with larva.
Yeaaa thank you! Forgot ab that haha
burt said there was a rumor MDR employees had pouches and larvae. so that’s a rumor across numerous departments.
I’ve been reminded haha thank you, forgot ab that!
the editing on that final sequence is so 😙👌🏼
also ricken’s book The You You Are is now available for free on Apple Books (and an audiobook narrated by his actor!) and it has some little bits about mark and gemma, it’s great imagining how the innies might have felt reading it
It was really fantastic shoutout to whoever worked on it. Is it long? Imma have to check it out
@ it’s not long, just 39 pages, supposedly “the first eight chapters” set up as a “teaser” for the eventual book release
@@jaijais 39 pages!? 39 minutes of then Innies being out on OTC!? Oh my Bast. ..this show 🙌🏿👏🏿😫?!

Yo that would be wild 😂 they already got the mini hallway built so do it in the show dammit!

Hope she’s better at it now! 😂😬
IRL I can’t imagine letting someone operate on my brain who says “I’m better at it now!” 😂
Right?? “You SHOULD feel better” huhhhh????😂
I think Dylan's wife is going to fall more for him than his outie.
100p that outie seems like a jerk!
scenes like where mark is told gemma is alive makes me question if the rebel doctor is even real. Is she a third personality?
Go back to the shadows!
I wouldn’t be surprised if it was something weird like that, she came out of nowhere!
