We're trying to hit our goal of 250k subscibers by the end of the year! Help us get there by sharing, liking, and commenting! Thanks so much for watching and good luck on the courts this weekend! Appreciate you all for supporting us!
Very useful! Question: if I aim a speedup at my opponent's right shoulder, what is there to keep it from going long if they duck out of the way? Lots of topspin, or is it just really hard to move out of the way of a shoulder-aimed speedup? Thanks for all of these videos!
If you pick the right time to go for speedups, you won't have to hit the ball up too much, because you'll be hitting it from a higher point. Add some topspin and it'll rarely sail long. And if it does once and a while, it's ok. It will be hard for them to judge. Most important thing here is practicing and really dialing in how much pace and spin you need to add to get your desired result.
Thank you for your tips! Big fan - all the way from Honolulu! Btw... I did not expect the P Todd 16mm Halo to be such an amazing all 'rounder! Had mine for a month, fully broken in with lead tape. It hits like a dream at 8.5Oz modified. Thanks again! Aloha!!!!
Feels like your technique telegraphs to opponents that you're going to speed up because your paddle isn't pointed down. Most people dink with their paddle pointed down. I learned my forehand and backhand speedups with paddle pointing down. A better opponent I think would recognize a dead dink + side paddle = you're speeding up and be ready for it.
This is addressed at 10:24. What "most people" do is not what matters. The 'speed up' take-back relative to dink take back is what matters, for a given person. He seems to dink with his paddle a little higher at times, so as long as he isn't revealing the speed up too early, it isn't necessarily a tell.

You are so welcome!
Getting lulled asleep when the cross court play isn’t hitting you is so real.
So good
Would you say a "speed up" is the same as an "attack"?
You can attack in different ways but yes a speedup is when you flick the ball low & harder
How do I get ranked Connor?
