You were always acutely aware of thiefs dealers aswell as other dubious characters. The threat of violence too but much less so than now. I'm going back to the mid 80s. Now the violent crime levels are through the roof in London along with other cities in the UK. Brum not far behind. The reasons are many. Lack of discipline respect moral codes empathy et al. The out of control migration levels have undoubtedly contributed to the depressing scenario. Not racist to say so as it refers to those from impoverished parts Europe also. The fact many of these number guys with criminal records back in the respective homelands is a major concern. Self entitled youngsters also with little regard or fear for their elderly authority & law enforcement units. The Notting Hill Carnival should now be deemed a festival and moved to an area where it is a ticket event and in a controlled safe environment. It is no longer sustainable as a safe family event. This event has now snowballed out of control and eating into the taxpayer's budget. The Notting Hill Carnival should be reviewed by the Metropolitan Police and local authorities.
These are the arrests at the carnival that have been made. How many offences have been committed where a blind eye has been turned on them for fear of 'upsetting' the crowd? Stabbing Hill Festival
The Notting Hill Carnival should now be deemed a festival and moved to an area where it is a ticket event and in a controlled safe environment.
It is no longer sustainable as a safe family event.
This event has now snowballed out of control and eating into the taxpayer's budget.
The Notting Hill Carnival should be reviewed by the Metropolitan Police and local authorities.

Toronto had to cancel Carabana (one of the largest caribbean festivals in the world ) many times because every every every year there are inevitably shootings (and that's in Canada where we don't have the guns the US has)........there are never shooting at the St, Patricks or the festa di san Gennaro or the mrch to Isreal parades ........; when do we admit there is a cultural component?
Who started these festivals anyway. We never used to celebrate cultures other than our own. It's the left again. Celebrating 'black history' for a month a year, while British history is twisted and lied about.

Toronto went over 80 years cancelling the St. Patrick’s day parade because of the history of violence between Catholics and Protestant (Orangemen) during the late 19 and early 20 century. The IRA used to show up in the Montreal parade as late as 1987, but I don’t remember any violence. They would wear balaclavas and carry IRA signs but we’re not officially registered to march. Different times.
