PROJECT BRUTALITY 3.0 DOOM 2 Hell On Earth REDUX [100% SECRETS]

  • PROJECT BRUTALITY 3.0 and DOOM 2 HELL ON EARTH REDUX by nxGangrel on Man And A Half Difficulty level, Chaotic Random Spawn Preset, 100% Secrets Achieved. Project Brutality 3.0 is an upcoming version of one of the best available mods for the classic Doom - expect a lot of fun when playing it. Please note that the Project Brutality 3.0 in its current state is still Work In Progress, so bugs are to be expected, together with crashes to desktop (same with addons, they are not 100% always compatible and actual). DOOM 2 REDUX is a megawad that has 32 levels and of course, these are the recreations of DOOM 2 levels, starting from the Entryway up to the Icon of Sin with secret maps, but of course these maps are a little bit more difficult. Even the first level can be a challenge because there are way more monsters with more complex level layout (you actually need to find some keycards already), plus the fights might be a little bit overwhelming. Truth is, several monsters also appear way faster than in the vanilla Doom II Hell On Earth, for example up to map 6 you won't find Pain Elementals but in this WAD they appear much earlier tho. Same with the appearance of Cyberdemon, while in DOOM II it first appeared during the Tricks & Traps MAP08, here it is a boss of The Crusher where it appears guarding a final elevator up to Dead Simple. The first level Entryway is quite original because it seems that our Doomguy has some hallucinations and he may teleport himself to the hellish realm twice, this one bit is interesting and really surprising. The Underhalls are a little bit longer than previously with even a way faster appearance of Rocket Launcher in this level, there are also way monsters with appearance of the Cacodemons for the first time in DOOM 2. The Gantlet oh boy... this one level is way way longer with appearance of Hell Knights already in MAP03, it also has tons of secrets to find (9!), you can also grab a Plasma Rifle here already so early in the game. The Focus and the Waste Tunnels are rather shorter levels than in the vanilla, Focus is also a pretty simple map with already 4 secrets and they are pretty easy to find, Waste Tunnels are just way more challenging. But in the case of The Crusher well, it's really more difficult than in the vanilla, you have to solve the puzzle to destroy the Spider Mastermind with efficiency, plus the map is way more tricky and dangerous.

    That regular Shotgun for Project Brutality is just an absolute beast! It's reception is just awe inducing & it's power is perfect for the mod!
    But the only gripe I have for it is its magazine upgrade; what I won't deny is the Ammo capacity boost & Dragons Breath is just beautiful!
    The stick magazine just doesn't suit me right! Wouldn't it be possible to do a little redesign with the mag like a tube akin to the PP-19 Bizon?

    I've wondered for a while, in your Brutal Doom/Project Brutality videos do you use ReShade? I noticed mainly because the blue color looks a tad muted, for example in the health bonuses/soulspheres

    appreciate all the doom vids! how can you play without any fps drops? your gameplay is so smooth all the time, but i'm using pretty much the same mods you're using, and i get tons of fps drops, specially during big fights or wide open areas. i have a 3070 rtx, is that not strong enough to run with hd textures, project brutality, relighting, and parallax?

      well hes got a powerful pc.
      i play brutal doom platinum on delta touch
      and i dont get alot of lag.
      i combine BD: platinum with universal rain, flashlight++, hd textures and all that good stuff
      i dont get fps drops

      @@lilit905 Thanks, actually I just figured it out after so many weeks, I had the relighting mod in my list, and after I removed that, everything runs super smooth now, like night and day!

      u can sort of add reshade in the settings menu
      by turning on the bloom effect and setting the sector light thing to dark
      if its too dark you then you should get a flashlight mod

      @@lilit905 cool idea, but i think i might have those settings already. i'm using darkdoomz on lite, and i've got reshade filters on top of that, looks awesome and relatively little slowdown. still, i always feel like martinoz looks better somehow, but at this point it could be my imagination. gonna keep on the look out for more nice mods though.

    On the one hand, I love a lot of the additions Brutality brings -- the enemies and weapons, for example. On the other hand, it's strayed so far from Brutal Doom that it's become outright cheesy and a near parody, and the sprite designs for the weapons look... well, as goofy as tihS (the style, I mean -- the thick contours, the cartoony appearance, et cetera).
    I hope someone makes a "devolved" fork one day that takes the best elements from Brutality and puts them back into Brutal Doom.
