LOL, @2:54 really did make me laugh. I grew up in a small oilfield town in the Permian Basin back in the 70's. Jesus, we were all raging drunks 18. Can't believe we lived through it. Some didn't. Interesting story, thanks for sharing.
Beautiful scenery. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Public schools don’t teach us this stuff and neither does life unless we realize that we need to educate ourselves or we know the right people, who can help educate us, on these very important financial / retirement issues.
@@TooMuchTimeonmyHands65 you’re extremely welcome. Me too. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you again. Hello Kevin I am your new and silent subscriber! I love the way you present your self and the way you talk is very clear and honest! I was watching you in Mark’s channel when he interviewed you and right away I searched your channel and watched your vlog for the first time! Keep up the great work you’ve done so far and God bless you🇺🇸❤🇵🇭❤️🇺🇸❤️🇵🇭❤️🇵🇭❤️🇺🇸
First off - Congratulations on what you've accomplished so far with your UA-cam channel, sounds like you only recently started but have come pretty far already. Thanks for sharing a bit about your background with us, You're somewhat of a rolling stone I see and nothing wrong with that :) You were born in the US but clearly destined to be in the far East ! This is only the 3rd video of yours that I've watched so far and really like your presentation and style so I just subscribed.. You just come across as a very decent person, Best of luck with your channel and continue to enjoy your life, take care !!!
Wow Kevin, I can't believe you tell your life story in less than 30 minutes! I really appreciate learning from other people's life experiences. I'm from the Philippines but have been living in Florida for quite some time. I always advise foreigners not to go into business in the Philippines especially ( Farming, sari-sari stores, piggery, aqua farming ) you will surely lose your life savings and it's hard to recover when you are in your old age. But snorky business may not be bad. I also play the stock market modestly but now I prefer to leave it on Vanguard index fund. I just subscribed to your channel and hope to learn more about your rental properties. Do you have a real estate agent collecting your rent?
Thanks again for watching Jimbo! After finding out about baranguay politics, I decided not to do the business. I’m a passive owner in an apartment complex. We have a primary investor who runs business. I get a check every 3 months. I don’t have to worry about it…that’s the way I like it😉
@@TooMuchTimeonmyHands65, Well, first you need to make friends with the Barangay and they can really help you. It might take 6 months to get to know them better. To see If they are good or bad. Lol. I hope you can make a video about your business in the apartment complex. It pique my interest. Thank you.
So funny I have almost the same story. Divorce two times, rented my house and moved into my RV, worked for a small company where I was the only employee, getting ready to retire at the end of May, headed to Philippines in June.
Nice story with lapping waves, sunrise with the clouds..about 12 yrs old watching a b&w WWII movie and saw this Chinese girl in it and from then on it was Chinese girls, maybe see you there one of these years 🙏🏻🇹🇭✈️🇵🇭
I wanna come home !😑 Im stuck here in the US ,trap in a middle class trend. Can't wait to build my passive rental income and go back in the Philippines. Too much negativity here now.
Good plan Rental and dividend stocks is how I made it happen. It took three decades of work and investing. The Philippines is perfect for chill and affordable retirement
Agreed. I’m a 49 year old, natural born American, and more times than not, can barely stomach how disrespectful, lazy, entitled, negative and aggressive a huge percentage of our younger generations have become.
@TooMuchTimeonmyHands65 by the way Kevin. I bought an rv trailer not to long ago. I am planning to live in it for a while. And if I get used to it, I will do some traveling..
I have been watching several expat channels in the Philippines and other countries and you are the first blogger I have seen that is smart enough to warn about the possibility of inflation outstripping the income growth of Social Security or any other pension or passive income streams. If new expats don’t plan on inflation eating into their budgets then they should consider that it is possible their budget might be reduced EVERY year by maybe 2% to 5% (or worse). Can you survive indefinitely there with a 2% + PAY CUT every year? Just as you should have an emergency fund or nest egg, you should also have a buffer or margin of error for monthly expenses to cover the possibility (likelihood) of increasing inflation.
Thanks for watching Alan! I see people here all the time who don’t have an emergency fund and are living here on $1200 a month or so. All it takes is 1 scooter accident, and they will be broke
Hello Kevin...You've done well...I'm an old retired military guy (25 years active, 25+ retired)...You've made the move earlier than I, although I've been an expat for most of my life...There is more than the USA life in this world...Never regretted my leaving the USA at 17...Good on you too... BTW I grew up in International Falls, Minnesota...I left at 17...it's f'g cold! That's why I have never lived there again...The Falls is even smaller than Thief River Falls haha! 😂 Anyway...Sounds like you've been around...Me the same...👍 🙏🙏🙏 👍😎👍
Watching from somewhere in Africa. Very interesting life story Kevin. Well done. I find that folks who truly know hard work, especially folks not picky about job such as yourself are the ones to have a leg up on being successful in life. Albeit my name (why is for another conversation), I'm a highly successful, single mother of 36 years to 2 awesome grown and highly educated kids. I need to declare this now to avoid getting comments advising me to marry a young pinay to be my caregiver 🤣. I was born in the Philippines and grew up in the US. Hence, a great comparative advantage indeed should I retire in the Philippines. Through hard work and years of studies, I landed a career in foreign affairs/diplomacy. Although I'm not quite 60, I'm eligible to retire any day now by virtue of lenght of years in service and would like to check out my options in the Philippines. I do have a very attractive federal pension along with savings/TSP/passive income investments. I don't think I need SS, it can wait. I can't wait to talk to my family and friends with the sound of waves in the background while enjoying French pressed coffee barako watching the sunrise. I plan to be in the Philippines around the first week of December this year and will visit Dumaguete for sure. I hope to make it to Dauin (spelling?) one Thursday at least. Thanks for being our eyes and ears on the ground so to speak for some of us who are thinking of retiring in the Philippines. Best regards.
Thanks for watching OP! Sounds like you have everything figured out 😉. Definitely let me know when you get in. I’m sure you’ll love the snorkeling at Uzi’s on Thursday
@@TooMuchTimeonmyHands65 Most welcome and for sure I'll make an in-person "courtesy call" 😂one Thursday at least with a few days heads up of course. I'm sure I'll enjoy UZI. I'll bring some for show and tell especially a close up of the very angry and highly poisonous fish with chicken feets when I make it to Dauin.
Oh Kevin! Forgot to add, its amazing what you accomplished! 2 divorces in just a short term and you still maintained enough savings to retire at 57. Ive known guys that only divorced once and got wiped out. Mainly because they had kids. Take care!

Thanks for subscribing Gilberto! I made two videos on the two strategies that I use. You can watch them, but the first thing you need to do is get permission from your brokerage firm to do options. Tell them you want to do: 1. covered calls 2. Cash secured puts The combined strategy is called the wheel strategy. There are many videos on UA-cam that explain it. I hope that helps

Schwab told me that too. You can try logging into your VPN connected to a location in your home country. Schwab also told me if I was in Thailand or Malaysia, trading would be allowed--for some reason, the Philippines is on their "excluded" list for stock trading for more than 6 months (i.e. a vacation) at which time they would want to lock me out of my accounts. If that doesn't work, try signing up with Interactive Brokers. I've been told that they are OK with stock trading from the Philippines. I'll be getting set up with them this summer.

Met two other ladies in Leyte who wanted to be my girlfriend, then another in Manila. I gave each of them my Facebook, and we began to chat. I found myself in a bad place in trying to entertain each of them. Lately, I pulled the plug on each of them. So, point is it is too easy to find a girlfriend in the Philippines. Thanks for watching TT! The internet is very spotty here, and there are probably at least 3 brown outs per month, that last for 8-12 hours. You may want to bring and internet booster over. It isn't hard to see why Philippines is becoming a retirement preference, sunny weather and pristine beaches with one of the lowest cost of living in South East Asia.
Thanks for watching MrArcher….I would agree if it were not for the fact there there are MORE brownouts, and more inconsistent internet on Siquijor. @@TooMuchTimeonmyHands65 I left that place 7 years ago for Siquior. I haven't even been off Siquior in 4 years. Ugh….you know, the “circus clown” analogy was actually about the city of New Orleans….not my actual family. My parents were not happy with that, and I’m working on a way to re-record over that. I hope I can do it before I call my mom on Mother’s Day 🙄
I had an incredible upbringing and my parents are AWESOME! The main reason I’m going back to the US In August is to see them. They are 79 and 83, and I love and appreciate both IMMENSELY!
No David, when I sell a PUT contract, I am agreeing to buy at least 100 shares of a stock on Friday IF it drops below a certain price….the kicker is, the other person has to pay me a price per share. If I sell a CALL, then I put up at least 100 shares up as collateral, and I make a deal with someone to buy my stock on Friday if it GOES UP! That person also has to pay me for the right to buy my shares. IT is IMPOSSIBLE to LOSE money selling a covered call, because I determine the price that I would be comfortable selling my stock in 1 week….normally 10-15% profit it one week. I know it’s not the best explanation. Maybe I’ll make a video showing both strategies, if y’all are interested

@@TooMuchTimeonmyHands65 you’re extremely welcome. Me too. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you again. Because I understood you, with ease, you’re a wonderful teacher, in my humble opinion, even though you’re not a teacher by trade. I’m totally invested since watching your first video and I completely understood all of the math you explained and watched it multiple times. I’m 49, a single mom / grandma, full time worker, still paying off post divorce (from an abusive police officer) and post bankruptcy bills and plan on beginning this method asap / as soon as I’m finished digging my way out of debt. I used my 401K to pay for my (unprepared for) divorce expenses. It’s about time some of us learn some awesomeness, seeing how our financial lives have been stacked against us, for so long, to purposefully keep us in the worker’s perpetual cycle.

That's why I have never lived there again...The Falls is even smaller than Thief River Falls haha!

Hi Kevin from Australia enjoying your vids you are certainly living the dream ! Handsome dude as well 😊
Thanks for watching Peter! I’ve got an amazing life now!

I'll bring some for show and tell especially a close up of the very angry and highly poisonous fish with chicken feets when I make it to Dauin.

What stock broker do you trade with in the Philippines? Charles Schwab won't let me do options in the Philippines.

Be very selective when you begin looking for a lady to date. I was in Dumaguete in March. I'm 70 years old and was approached by a beautiful 27-year-old, who wanted to be my girlfriend. The power outages here aren't nearly as bad as they once were and you should have a backup generator anyway. I recall a lot of outages when I lived over there. No one goes to Dumaguette for groceries; there's a Hypermart here.
@@MrArcher181 thanks for the update Mr Archer!
That explains it, my parents were circus clowns!!!
What's up dude
Waiting for you to come back man😉
Is that like short and long trading?
@@TooMuchTimeonmyHands65 I would be interested, I am just getting started with investing.
@@TooMuchTimeonmyHands65 Also interested, you sound as though you could relay the info in lay terms and make it comprehensible for a bunch of us. 👍
@@TooMuchTimeonmyHands65Make sure you tell everyone about the tax liabilities involved with short term trading. That is a reason a lot of people stay away from it.
@@dumaguetedreaming I do pay 28% short term capital gains taxes, and I also file quarterly. Instead of once per year, if that’s what you mean. It is very important to keep your accountant in the US
What type of visa are you going to get when you stay forever
Thanks for watching Earl. For now, I plan on just using a tourist visa
@@TooMuchTimeonmyHands65 I could only extend my tourist visa for six months two times that I went there,
Extremely difficult life
Hahaha, yep😉. Thanks for watching Elmer!
Yes to IRA 👍🏼
Yes, get that ROTH IRA and take advantage of tax free money!!
How much money does it take to make a living on doing what you're doing??
Thanks for watching Michael! I am using about $200K and I make between 1%-8% on my money each week doing the options
I'm desperately trying to figure out how to make enough money online so I can go to the Philippines.. 58 years old.. On social security. Would love to do some kind of stocks weekly?
I would definitely recommend starting a ROTH IRA. It grows tax free. You can trade weekly and monthly options there, and/or buy some value stocks with good dividends😉
Scooter ur new tag
Thanks for watching screamdreamer!
u said smokey mountains instead of rocky but its cool haha
Hahahaha, yeah someone pointed that out. Tennessee is my favorite state, so I guess I had that on my mind
Just a suggestion, if indeed you want more subscribers...you need only put up the "PLEASE LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE" at the beginning and end, MAYBE once in the middle. every 30 seconds to a minute is a bit annoying & comes off kind of desperate.
Thanks for watching CeeGee! I agree, and will do that for now on 😉
Kevin, I like your content and hope to see more videos from you. Here comes the "but"...can you please stop posting the like & subscribe banner at the bottom so often? It is so annoying and distracts honestly. Just say it once or twice; at the beginning and at the end. Criticism over.
Thanks for watching OR! Yes, I have told my producer to cut those out from now on.😉
WOW just what we need another Volger sharing the same old story, the same people from Dumaguete doing the same Old videos about the same old stuff, Is This What It Comes Down To after life? Now start interviewing all the same old people and they will interview you to! might as well get a job!
Wow, so bitter….why are you even checking this out? Not sure what a volger is…would you enlighten us? You sound SAD, but I do appreciate you watching. Feel free to watch elsewhere….nobody is forcing you. Have a nice day 😉
To be honest, I and others did ask for this and it really does help. Of course, you can go elsehwhere if you don't like his channel. I for one, think it is useful and informative.
New subscriber here. Great content!👍
@@davewordsworth1251 thanks for having my back Dave! I’m new to this, but my neighbor Mark(Every Man Has a Story) told me there will be trolls and haters. I’m surprised…..I would not waste my time on a site if I wasn’t interested in the content. Guess I’m just old fashioned

So how did you meet your GF ?
I won her in a poker game 😉…actually, we will be doing a video about that while we are traveling for Christmas
I am also an options trader. We should talk. I’m building a home near Bacolod.
Thanks for watching Jeff! Let me know when you’re coming into Dumaguete
@@TooMuchTimeonmyHands65 what broker you use in Phil’s? I’m currently with tdameritrade, and I hear they will close the account if you trade from the phils.
@@jeffegg2 I use TD Ameritrade, Charles Schwab(ROTH), and Robinhood. All three will freeze your accounts in you do not keep a US address. Your TD account is going to be moved to Charles Schwab in September, I believe. There are international brokerages who allow you to trade US stocks, but I highly recommend keeping a U.S. address and phone number just in case

Roths.... one pays tax on the money at time earned. So income is already taxed. Once start to withdraw pay on interest earned. Thought it was 59 and 1/2 to withdraw. Best nor to withdraw all at once. Do a monthly amount
It is 59 1/2, you are correct
