I liked Jukkas energy and stage presence, Kai does an outstanding job and has earned his place on the stage but I’d like to see Jukka back, maybe go to a 2 drum lineup.
How awesome would that be.

@WhoDarestheMAN gamer While I think Jukka was the best drummer for Nightwish, it's still obvious, that Kai is technically better, faster and more precise. Jukka was a showman and had very good sense what sounds good on song. His playing was more showy, and he gave everything he has, every night. I miss him.
@WhoDarestheMAN gamer Just watch Wintersun "Sons of winter and stars", either live at Sonic Pump or drum clinic...or find some old Rotten Sound videos. Kai is technically better, and way faster, there is no doubt.

It's a matter of taste. Jukka was/is a dramatic drummer hammering the kit like Keith Moon. Kai is an efficient drummer adding more technical challenges to the same track, like John Bonham. I like both.

It's not easy at all. Speed is not everything in drumming.
Sadly Jukka will not be returning and Kai has become Permanent drummer. Jukka will still be a member behind the scenes handling management.

Thanks! Jukka's performance was also caught on camera but I doubt it will be ever released. For many reason but one big reason being he is playing with Kai's kit which is different brand than Jukka has as an endorsement. Kai is a Pearl artist while Jukka uses Tama drums.
Is there a chance that we will see some Jukka footage in the future? Is it in any way possible? Good luck and thanks for these awsome videos!

Anyone noticed how high his snare is positioned?
Andrey Andonov I guess it comes from wintersun's songs because they're way faster tempo and really complicated.
It's all about ergonomics. He has studied Alexander technique and has positioned his drums the way it most comfortable for him to play. I am a drummer myself and used to keep my snare rather low. Now I have studied how I really like to hit drums in natural way and keep nowadays my snare about 5 cm (2 inches) higher than I used to. So much better.
Is that what a drummer hears back there? HOw can he hear the show?
No that's the actual acoustic sound on the stage. Drummers have isolating in-ear monitors and they have there a mix they prefer. There's usually click track and a lot of drums :D

@@sugoruyo Yes. Actually with a few different ones and then mixed from those. But yes in principal it's froma recorder from the stage.
