Top waterfalls in Costa Rica: Cataratas Llanos de Cortez

Welcome to Costa Rica! Ahh I'm so excited to be here. Costa Rica has been on my travel bucket list for years now and I finally made it! Today we booked an excursion through Viator to get up close and personal with Costa Rica's hidden natural wonders on this 12-hour tour. The name of the excursion was the Rio Celeste & Llanos de Cortez Waterfall Tour. We followed an expert local guide through this tropical terrain to visit one of Costa Rica's "hidden gems".
Since the northwestern part of Costa Rica is mainly flat and dry (We are staying in Taramindo) it can be difficult to find a waterfall in this region. So we hopped in a tour van and traveled two hours away to Bagaces which is about a 30-minute drive from the Liberia airport. Come see what this area has to offer!
